Cook Children's Pediatrics Haslet

Only good things to say about Dr. See and her staff!! Dr. See is absolutely incredible with my two kids (2.5 yrs and 7 mos), the nurses are always friendly and kind, and the front desk staff is great. Just know that the office still uses a virtual waiting room, so you wait in the car instead of in the office.

We just had our first visit with Dr. See. I can’t say enough good things about her. She is warm and friendly, while being real about potential concerns. She aligns perfectly with the way I see healthcare and medication. Everyone in the office was friendly and expedient. Really. I’d rate this office a 10 if I could. We’ll be long time patients here.

Dr. Rivera is a truly amazing doctor! He is empathetic and very caring and patient with his patients. He explains procedures in a way that the child will understand and make them feel at ease. We highly recommend this clinic!

Great first experience here for my daughter’s well check! Dr. See and the rest of the staff were wonderful, we were seen promptly and given plenty of time with Dr. See to discuss any concerns.

Can I ask if we can schedule an appointment when the kid is sick? I called to the office today and a staff told me that I can not schedule an appoinment ahead when the kid is sick and will have to call back tomorrow if to check if any available slot? I think it a lillte bit weird since kid needs see doctors when they are sick. Thank you.

Last year, my pre-teen daughter was kicked out as a patient because we decided to skip vaccinations for the first time in her life. The doc said, she will no longer see my daughter because of this. We even got a formal letter from the office informing us that we aren't patients there anymore. This month, they're sending text message reminders to schedule a yearly exam for my child.
Why would I come back after you clearly declined health care for her? I suggest updating your system and not bothering families you yourself decided not to treat anymore.

Discriminatory against parents who don't vaccinate. They wouldn't even let me make an appointment for my children after asking me if I vaccinate. I have worked in the healthcare industry for almost 10 years and have never seen anything like this. My son has never had problems at any other doctor's office ever. Watch your child go into a deadly heart rhythm after a vaccine at 10 days old and end up in the cardiac icu and then you can discriminate. Shameful. We just moved to the area and this is disgusting.

Doctors are supposed be caring for patients no matter what, I changed my pediatrician a year ago and wanted to get back here because it’s closer to the house, they won’t take my kid because we changed pediatrician. What did your ego get hurt because we changed pediatricians? It’s ridiculous!, better for us to not get doctor like you !

2/5/24:
I just called to get my baby seen about as she’s having an allergic reaction and was turned away because I won’t allow them to stab her with EVERY single vaccines. I am okay with some of the recommended shots but some I don’t agree with. But because I won’t have all, I am now forced to call around while my child is suffering in the background.

11/2022:
I actually do like Dr. See and her nurses, so the staff isn’t the issue. Which is why I continue to use Cook Children’s despite my complaints.

I just do not understand WHY this location is still requiring virtual check in. As we were leaving, a couple with a baby strolled in and after they got checked in they had to stroll right back out to the vehicle and wait. It seems needless now especially for parents having to tote kiddos back and forth. For me, I had to explain to my own that we weren’t allowed to wait inside and instead had to sit in the hot car and run the AC. It’s Texas, that should be like a last resort to sit outside in the vehicle since a lot of people do not have working AC and it’s always hot here. Plus our state has been open for a while now.

Then there’s the mask requirement. This location still required them. I’m pregnant and already am huffing and puffing because of my extra body on board. I had to pull mine down to catch a breath a few times, so no I don’t agree with forcing masks STILL. There was no choice given, it was a “wear your mask or you won’t be seen” situation.

Anyway, rant over.

It was really easy for me to establish my children here with a pediatrician at Cook Children's Pediatrics, Haslet. Unfortunately, that was the only good thing I can say about this place. We have had a hard time scheduling appointments for our sick kids. Flu shot appointments are usually two weeks out, with the office calling us to cancel the day before, because we took our sick kids to an Urgent Care (different provider). With the experience we have had, I have a hard time trusting this office and the Dr. with the health of my children. I have decided to take them somewhere else.

I'm sorry, but no-one is going to force my 3yo little boy to wear a mask. He's perfectly healthy, and it was simply a yearly checkup. I called Shine Pediatric in Fort Worth and they said they absolutely do not force patients to wear a mask, and that is where I will be taking my son from now on. From day one I never felt like the Dr. cared at all about my son, he was just another number. Just another piece of livestock to be shuffled through in a mildly disorganized and untimely manor.

They treat you like a number, customer service is nonexistent. I do not trust the doctor or the office or provide the care my child deserves.

We moved And wanted to transfer to a Cooks closer to us, had an appt scheduled for over a week and they call two hours before our appointment saying they won’t take us as patients unless I give my tiny 3 year old four shots today. She is only a few shots behind but heaven forbid let me spread those out a month or so apart. Don’t bother coming here unless you are fully up to date.
