Giddy Ups

First time to come to Giddy Up's! Saw that WC Clark was jamming for happy hour in the Austin Chronicle and made the drive way south to Manchaca to see the Blues Legend. Gretchen asked Dad to dance a couple times and he was on cloud 9. Friendly locals and great bartender. Thanks Gretchen for rockin my Dad's world.

Karaoke Sunday! It was a fun time. The crowd was super great cheering on the singers. If you are looking for a small iconic hole-in-the-wall type of atmosphere with a different kind of crowd, it's a 4+ star. Big John (karaoke host) did a great job rotating the singers and keeping the energy flowing. The bartender was very attentive to the customers and super sweet, and greeted everyone with a super beautiful smile! 🤗

No comprehension as to why this place is not packed every night, but especially when WC Clark is playing on Tuesdays. Classic Austin blues. Great beverage selection.

Anna is the most wonderful bartender. So friendly. The atmosphere is as you'd expect from an Austin original country neighborhood bar!

This place is an honest to goodness Texas Honky Tonk with staff that treat ya like family. Drinks are cold and strong and modestly priced. The entertainment is first class and so are the patrons. I will be making the trip again!

We had such fun..... Tuesday blues night is well worth your time! Excellent talent, friendly staff.... us folks from up norte in Minnesota were made to feel right at home! Thank you.... great music and hospitality, couldn't have asked for more!

The best live music and coldest beer this side of the river… the pecos river!

It's an old Austin throwback to when things weren't near as crowded as they are today. I love road houses and this one is small but, the seating is limited and it doesn't take much to fill the dance floor. There's cold beer, a more than adequate bartender Anna running sound and a smoking partition. My band had no stagger problem in a place that has killed many an act if they can't use dynamics along with their inside voice.

I miss Austin, thank Giddy Ups for keeping it's spirit alive.

Laid back, everyone's family atmosphere. Great local music in an intimate setting. Big selection of beers for the size of the bar and courteous staff. Comfortable and spacious outside with plenty of good folks and great conversations.

Every Thursday is open mic where you can see real Austin musicians in their natural habitat.

This is the best little dive bar in South Austin! Regulars and out of town folk all have a great ti.e. Wednesday night shuffle board tournament and a live band. Fast friendly service. Very reasonable prices. I'm always coming back when in town! Do yourself a favor and come join the party. Dance, drink, meet new friends.

Was visiting my sister and brother-in-law went to 2 other spots before Giddy Ups.
By far the best time the live music was fantastic.
Not much as far as appearance inside but the atmosphere is good old music with people that appreciate a good time.

Always a great time at Giddy Ups. We love to go to the Sunday night karaoke...starts kind of late (9:00), but still a really fun time, every time! Big John, who runs the karaoke, is a gent and a crazy man lol with the voice of an angel. Staff and patrons are super friendly. Good mixed drinks and plenty of cold beer too.

This place is a gem. The patrons here are so friendly. The prices for drinks are reasonable also. Robert Johnson Soul played tonight and it is a great show. If one is looking for a great time and in good spirits, check this place out. You will leave with new connections, a couple good stories, and a reasonable bar tab.

Excellent cocktails, beer & wine selection, not your average beer joint. Funky Texas decor, huge outdoor patio, big yard.. amazing blues.. “go-to” lil bar tucked away down Manchaca.

A fabulous bar to go hear live music, shoot pool, play shuffleboard, and have a great time!
