I visited this cave with a group from UAB rec center and it was such a cool experience! Very safe cave and lots of cool things to see! We were in the cave for about 5 hours and went all the way to the Christmas tree, along with a few crawls before we headed back. Kings shower was stunning, I highly recommend standing under it and looking up while shining a flashlight on the droplets. Everything slows down and it feels really surreal. I’d love to take some friends back but I’m unsure about how difficult it is to secure a permit.

Super cave for wild cavers, not show cave tourists. You're gonna get dirty! But tons of fun and some nice pretties!

This cave is AH-Mazing! I went will the best guide and photographer. There is so much climbing but it its worth it to see the topless dome. You do have to crawl up through a hole to get there. If you have someone nice enough to plug the water while you climb then you have to see it. This is a cave I will visit lots of times. Not reccomended for small children. You must also get a permit to enter from the SCCI. They will provide you a code one you do that.

You must get a permit to enter this cave. Awesome views and lots of climbing! I would recommend going through with a guide.

Great cave and a fantastic idea for a group trip. We went early in the morning which was nice because we had the cave to ourselves all the way in and partway back. The cave is very clean and well maintained. The cave isn't full of lights and manmade handrails, just natural features. Some parts may be challenging for some folks but with a good group (and good flashlights and hardhats) it is great for anyone. It was a lot bigger than I thought inside. Look online and there is a cool map of the cave. You will probably get wet so make sure you bring shoes and clothes you don't mind soiling. Totally worth the drive.

My group loved how you have to go up a little hole flowing with water to see the topless dome! This is definitely a great cave to take beginners. In most areas it seems just like an underground hike. The formations and uniqueness of each area are top knotch! I appreciate the care put in to preserve this site. Thanks SCCI for the porta-pot, coded gate and picnic tables. I will be back.

Our experience at tumbling Rock caves was extraordinary, the five of us had a blast and we'll revisit. This hunting cave is challenging and extremely impressive in its beautiful structure.

This is an amazing place to go spelunking... and spend the night. Yep, we got lost in the main cavern area where the Christmas Tree is located. It is where we hunkered down in 58° Temperature until the Huntersville Cave Rescue came in to help us find the way out. This place is worth visiting... we just don't recommend the 15 hour tour! 🙃

Wonderful cave for someone who loves Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Spent a great father and son time with my kid and for almost 2 hours we did not see another human being.

Definitely the best cave I've been to. Highly recommend walking all the way to "the Christmas tree"

Had a great time! Be prepared to get wet and muddy, do not suggest for those with knee or shoulder injuries.

I've never been in the cave. It's at the end of CO Rd 111, my dog can run and play in the spring and I don't have to worry about traffic. Very well maintained preserve with porta potty, shade trees, and picnic table.

Tumbling Rock Cave is a beautiful cave owned by the Southeastern Cave Conservancy. A permit is required to enter the cave. The permit can be found on the SCCI website. Appropriate gear, such as helmets, 3 sources of light, etc. is also required. See the cave permit requirements for the exact requirements for each cave. Donations to enter the cave are optional, but highly recommended. All donations are used to further conserve and obtain caves for public benefit.

I can only compare its glory to the bottoms of the Grand Canyon. It’s just so epic and seemingly magical since it just happens to be vertical. 🛐

One of my favorite caves for sure! You'll need to get a permit to enter btw. Park right near the entrance, places to change are super convenient too!
