Hap's Burgers & Taps

I was really happy with this burger. I'm a huge fan of In n Out, and this place is my new favorite burger. 😍 5 stars.

How often do you get to eat in a 76 gas station? I ordered the Hap burger 2x meat, fries, and a draft beer. The burger was made special by the Hap sauce. It is close to a blooming onion sauce - mayo and cyan. The fries had a light coating of seasoning and were delicious. The food came out quickly, and hot. The micro brewery beer was icy cold. On top of the great food, the staff was super friendly and helpful. The business appearance looks a little funky, but they are doing something special there. If you are looking for a great burger and beer, its the place to go.

Found this gem after striking out at Met Market on something for lunch. Fries are thick and amazingly seasoned, although most important is gluten free. Fries are their only fried item. I got their cheeseburger and it was delicious. They have covered tables and offer ciders on tap plus an extensive bottle menu from small and local companies.

First time here as I don't usually nanny in Mercer Island, but I also didn't want to take too long getting food, but it was a last minute request so I went to work without food. I initially programmed my gps for a different restaurant, but this place was closer, the food smelled amazing and parking was available. The Cuban melt was so good and I could only eat half of that, same with the fries. The fries were homemade and with really good seasoning. The $.50 sauce was so good for the fries too. Then the cherry on top was the strawberry milkshake made with fresh strawberries, vanilla Tillamook ice cream. Will be back for the fries and milkshake and try a different sandwich. Maybe even stay for some beer too.

Great place with lots of choices including vegan. The fries are particularly yummy. We had Haps burger and a grilled cheese with bacon & avocado, perfect! The building is an old 76 gas station and they have covered outdoor seating. They serve sodas, shakes, beet and wine.

The food was okay but the customer service was out of this world. Thank you to the two J's: Jeremy and Jeanne and the women from the garden: Eden. All three of you represented Hap's as a team with teamwork and care for this customer. The 5-stars are for the people only. Great job! Keep shining!

Great food! We ordered the Hap's burger with fries and the chicken sandwich. Good service and a cool gas station/diner concept! Perfect for Covid times. Warm, outdoor seating - protected from rain and wind and spaced out nicely. This place is my new favorite. Love the music playing, as well! 🎶🎵

Extremely helpful staff without having to ask much easy ordering process could use a little education on what's in the sauces but overall such a good place. I got a chicken sandwich and couldnt be happier with how it came out so yummy I also snagged myself three cans of yumminess. The cascadian rose and the huckleberry picker and the Triton bourbon barrel cider. And the golden goddess sauce is a must try. Its refreshing and so good on the chicken sandwhich

Cuban is tear jerky goodness. Wouldn’t kick my women outta bed if her breath smelled like that sandwich. OUTSTANDING!!

These fries have just a hint of garlic. So so delicious!! Juicy burger with crunchy fried onions....best burger I've had in a while. Would happily visit again!

Hap's is a local burger place that has a very small menu, because they do stuff very good. Lots of toppings for the burgers, pretty good size for the price, same deal with the fries which are on the softer side instead of super crispy. Their fry sauce is pretty good too, so are their shakes. Get bacon added on and you're gonna feel pretty stuffed with a burger, fries and shake.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and will be regulars now. We ordered online and our food was ready once we got to our table. We couldn't decide if we liked the cheeseburger or chicken sandwich better. Yes the beef is bland but it is juicy and full of flavors with all the condiments and fixings.
Their house sauce is actually unique and tasty.

Great vegetarian option here. The vegan burger is great. I get it with a slice of cheese. The fries are also really good.

Amazing food, the burgers are great! Best "fast" burger there is. Love the flavor and the use of organic vegetables. There is no service, so it is not bad nor good. Order on a machine and your name is yelled out, then go find your bag of food. (But they still want a tip?) BE AWARE, do not go for a walk with cash in your pocket and expect to eat. They very unfortunately do not accept cash!

Great find for something new. The Cubano sandwich was amazing. Also loved the coconut cold brew shake. 😍

We are at Hap's twice while in the area because it was so good and had something everyone in our group liked and could eat. They were great with allergies and quickly checked the ingredients on anything we questioned. The food was great, good selection of adult beverages, highly recommend for a casual meal! The staff was very helpful and friendly!!

Just found this amazing little eatery. Warm, open outdoor seating. They were having a technical issue with their register & couldn't accept cash. Wouldn't you know it, that's all I had. The owner found a work around. Really fought for my business & dam, made me feel special. Thanks for the great food. Will be back asap w/wifey.

I love Hap's, some of the best burgers in the Seattle area. Fresh, tasty ingredients, amazing Hap's sauce and incredible shakes. I'll be trying the sandwiches soon because they look really tasty.
My only issue is they close at 7pm even on weekends. I know MI is an early bird town, but there are only two spots in the city where young-ish folks can have a good, easy, fresh meal w/o going into a restaurant in the evenings. And I am sure the kids that live on the island would appreciate having another option besides pizza on a weekend night.

I find this place fantastic and my entire family of 5 love it. I really like that they have a 'special' menu item that rotates so there is often something new to try. The last 2 I've had were great, the Cubano sandwich and now the spicy BBQ Boricua sandwich. I also appreciate that they don't tone down the spice level (or they do but it's still got kick). They have a variety of different aioli which compliment the fries great. The avocado herb aioli in particular is great.

I waited a long time before doing a review – mostly because I did not want to be negative.
I tried tonight the pulled pork burger which was really good - the fresh cilantro and the pickles really make the difference. The meat itself was tasty, not dry, not greasy either.
I also definitely noted a difference in the increased quality of the burger patties too.
Still not a big fan of the fries.
But as long there is a Reuben's Hazy IPA and the friendly staff from Freshie's, we'll come back!

Thank you for adding new burgers and improving the overall quality. This does not go unnoticed!
