This is my new permanent mechanic shop. Bobby the owner and Devin his son are both great mechanics and great people. Bobby has over 30 years experience and it shows. He make sure every detail is done according to factory specs and facturas protocol. No shortcuts are taken at this shop and yet his rates are very competitive. They can even Trace down and solve electrical problems and he has a complete inventory of every kind of electrical connector. They even restore antique vehicles and do body work and custom paint. If you have repairs that need to be done on your car, bring it over to this place and at least get an estimate.

Fantastic guy and mechanic. I was thinking of buying a car at a nearby dealership. Bob drove over and checked it out for me. He explained what he was doing and why. I learned more about what to look for in a used car than I ever knew before. He gave rough (and incredibly reasonable) estimates on the spot for what repairs would cost so I could negotiate with the dealer. We talked for a bit and he has such a great attitude toward business and cars. He really cares about his work and reputation. I live 2 hours away so I sadly can’t use him for regular maintenance, but if my car ever needs serious work I know where I’m going.

This is the second time I have gone to this car repair business. Both times a positive experience. My VW's engine light kicked on three days ago but due to my work hours I had to wait until the weekend to get it seen. Bob the owner is very kind and totally open to listening to your concerns. Well I took it in today and he called me and told me the oil cover/cap was not totally locked in place so it let air in so the engine light went on. I was amazed at his complete honesty. We all know that when we have car issues we are at the mercy of these mechanics to be open and honest with their costumers. So there you have it, check this business out if you ever need someone to fix your vehicle close to Fox Lake. Thanks Bob and Devin.

Terrific work and awesome service! Bob is my go to mechanic. He has always been able to successfully repair all three of my cars, every time they break down. Bob, also, has helped me whenever my car had broken down on the side of the road, replacing my "hard to change" flat tire.

Bob is definitely an "one in a million" type of mechanic. Fair prices, great service. I highly recommend for everyone to go to him for all types of car issues.

Bob and his team do a fantastic job of service and repair. They pay attention to details that most other repair shops don't even know, but that can make a big difference in how well your car runs. They even fixed some issues with ignition coils on our VW that the dealer and other mechanics missed. If you want your car fixed correctly, this is the only place to go.

Bob and his staff are always willing to assist and do excellent work. This is the place to go when you have problems with your car. Especially electrical issues. Air bag light on?! They can fix it. Check engine light on?! They can fix it. Rodent chewed through a wire harness?! Bob specializes in wire harness repairs. Bob has all the factory specs for the wire harness repairs and whether or not they are allowed. Why take it to the dealer and pay $$$$$ when Bob and his staff can do it for a lot less and guarantee their work too!

Angel in Disguise
I was at a dealership near by Automotive Connections, I was tired lost and confused. I was out shopping for a used reliable vehicle. I had test drove a Chevy Traverse that I had doubts about. I decided to call around to nearby auto repair shops to get the car checked out. After calling a few places that wanted to charge me, I stumbled across Automotive Connections. I explained to the mechanic that I needed a little help deciding on the truck, he quickly said bring it over and I will not charge you anything just to check the vehicle out. I lost my father about 4 years ago, whom was a mechanic. When I pulled up Mr. Devin Mc Donough came out along with his son eager to help. He opened the hood of the truck and found what looked like clay under the motor cap. He also noticed the antifreeze was not the correct color. He told me what to look for the next time I search for a new vehicle. He even told me I can call him to ask any questions I need about cars. The fact that my father is gone I really needed Mr. Mcdonough help. I am very grateful to have met such wonderful honest people. He saved me from buying a junk car. I would highly recommend Automotive Connections to anyone I know. I am from Wisconsin, but I will travel to Automotive Connections for all my car needs.

Bob explained everything and answered all my questions as well as different options what could be wrong with my Mom's car, Devin also explained that was going on as well! On top of that they came on their day off and even fixed my Mom's car the same day!!! Very kind people, and I appreciate them more than they know!!!

I had an issue with my work truck during the recent deep freeze and they went above and beyond in getting the job done as quick as possible. Bob kept the rate fair and it was done the next day. I strongly reccomend them to any one looking for a good automotive shop.

The Cadillac dealership told me the wiring harness for my 2004 Cadillac CTS is no longer available from Cadillac and therefore mt CTS can't be repaired. Bob picked up my faltering (very little power) CTS and took it to his shop. Bob REBUILT the wiring harness, saving me from having to buy a new/different car!! Also, had Bob do a tune-up. My 2004 CTS now runs better than it has in years. Thanks Bob!!

This guy Bob has had our truck for 10 months!!!!!!!!!!!! He was asked to look at the transmission, I can guarantee there is more wrong with it now that it's been sitting there. Very poor service, we have called numerous times and he just gives a run around.
