Small Town Grill

Great breakfast only a few miles out of Mackinaw City. This is a little gem along the highway and worth stopping. Marvelous breakfast and the best coffee I've found. They also have a small shop of worthy and interesting articles for sale.

They ran out of corn beef because it's awesome so I pivoted to the stuffed has brown which is basically amazing crispy has browns with your favorites stuffed inside. I had mine with Zucchini Onion Mushroom Bacon (ZOM-B). Also has fun gift shop

Old school diner. Inside is a small shop. The small dining room features an open kitchen with 2 guys (when we were there) cooking up delicious food. We were fortunate to get great weather for outdoor eating. Sitting around a table on some outdoor chairs under a tree was a pretty special time for our group. Our service was great, the food was great, and the portions were big. My sandwich could easily feed 2 people. If we are in the area again, we will be eating there again!

Heading south from Mackinac City to the Grand Rapids area after a visit to the Island, we were google searching for Mom & Pop restaurants near where we were. That's when we found this hidden jewel. A family-run small town gem!! Loved the people and the comfort food
Reasonably priced. Highly recommend that you swing off the main drag about 15-20 minutes to have a meal that will make the detour worth it!

We stopped in for lunch before catching a flight home. The place was busy and the only table available was in the sun! It was a beautiful day, but warm. The waitress took our order. We were assured we would be out quickly. Meanwhile, a table in the shade became available. The waitress quickly bussed the table for us. The food arrived with plenty of time for us to dine and reach the airport. The food was GREAT! They have a rustic "hole in the wall" appearance, but do not let that fool you! Thanks Small Town Grill staff for great food and great service!

I absolutely love this place! Eventually I'd like to try something else on the menu but the biscuits and gravy are just to good not to get! It feels like you are at grandma's house while you eat. The staff is awesome and I've seen them treat a man to breakfast that was clearly not able to pay. I wish I could give 10 stars. We drive from Detroit to Petoskey and always come here to eat.

Best Spinach salad!!! I always take the time to make a special trip there.

Every time we go the food is excellent. Haven't had a bad breakfast there yet. I always get the special. Steak, eggs, potatoes, and swap out the toast for a cake. Wife usually gets the potatoes and bacon extra crispy. This time she got something new, the club sandwich, which she said was excellent too. You will not be disappointed. It's a small cozy cafe, and if you don't want to wait for a table get there between church hours on Sunday.

Small Town Grill is as always a great lunch or breakfast. Food is amazing. Staff friendly and very good. Unfortunately, prices increased because of COVID. Makes it difficult to enjoy it very often. But understandable.

Was passing by and went to this place for breakfast. Nice little place with good food.

A small town atmosphere with a BIG city cooking! My wife and I are foodies and have eaten at some of the best restaurants in America... This is always a top for us! A must go to for the good food, atmosphere and the great people who work there!

I absolutely love the Sun Burger! It is a veggie burger served with in house made sweet potato fries. It is my favorite! This place is great for delicious food. My husband loves the burgers here. My kids love the pancakes and the fish baskets! Everything we have eaten here has been fantastic. Great small town atmosphere with friendly cooks and servers.

Ate there Fathers day 2019. Good, fast, friendly, with big portions. About three times what I needed, but good. Next time I will just order sides.
I had Southern omelet wife had French Toast. They did not have heated maple syrup, but on request they heated some in microwave, so I have to give 5 stars. A friend who is a big eater recommended them and I can see why. I kind of hate to give 5 stars because next trip there will probally be a line. Today we were there before the rush, but when we left there was a crowd waiting.

After moving into the area, my wife and I have been exploring the local cuisine, and the Small Town Grill is one of our favorites. Good food, and fast, friendly service make this a repeat destination for us. Great little mom and pop restaurant!

Lots of awesome food. Always filling up my coffee. It's the little things that matter. First time I have been there and loved it!! Keep up the great atmosphere and food.

If you come here you better be ready to eat because they are gracious with their portions. This is a good example of the kind of place that finds the right way to do things first and doesn't change. Great service.

We just happened to be driving thru on a color tour and saw this. Excellent food and friendly service. American fries were delicious. Will stop again when in the area. Be sure to stop, you won't be disappointed.
