The Plaza Cafe and Diner

The Plaza Café and Diner is a charming family run establishment with a friendly atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious, attractively presented food. The decor is relaxing, and the restaurant pristine. My husband and I have eaten here twice since they reopened under the new ownership/management, once us alone for a late lunch, and once as part of a group of six for an early dinner. Both times we were well taken care of. The menu is standard diner fare with a few interesting additions, and with the wide variety of options, there is truly something for everyone. The location is excellent, very easy to get to, and located within several walkable blocks of shops and businesses, across the street from the train station. If you are in the Morris Plains area, or traveling through, I highly recommend the Plaza Cafe and Diner! Enjoy, and be blessed!

Wonderful service, outstanding food! It was either the Manager or Owner was super friendly: We ordered DoorDash and had a small issue with the delivery, the lady went out of her way to make things right when we called.

My son AJ had a competition in the nearby area, and it was perfect for a quick dinner or snack! The interior, food, and service was excellent!! We definitely plan on returning.

My family and I were looking to meet up at a diner. I was expecting a mega diner half a block long, so when I saw this place I'm thinking we made a mistake choosing it. I was so wrong, the Plaza Cafe was delightful, food fresh and good, the service was great, and we were never rushed. Very welcoming place! Enjoy!

Salads are delicious, love, their cheeseburger and french fries, and their salmon dinners are very tasty.

I love this little diner. It is so charming. I like the whole story behind it's rebirth from the cook for the last owners. I have to say it is much improved with this new ownership. The food is so delicious. I always get the veggie omelette and it is one of the best. Tonight we had dinner and I got the avocado salmon salad special and my mom got the roasted chicken and my husband got the Greek salad with chicken. We also got an order of onion rings which go down as some of the best we've ever had. Each dinner was very large. You will not leave hungry and most likely have enough left over for another meal. Everything was fresh and tasty and presented beautifully. It seems as though the cook really puts his heart in his meals. Can't say enough great things about this little gem.

Lovely place! Our first time since the new owners took over 4 months ago. We had an afternoon 2:00 breakfast! II had great chocolate chip pancakes, egg and bacon house special! My husband enjoyed his cheese omelette with potatoes and toast. The coffee is delicious and the service was excellent! So glad they are open till 8pm so we can’t wait to pop in for a hamburger. They are a lovely family with dad as the cook, mom and daughter manage it. Great job guys! Glad to see a new opening of a small family business after Covid. We highly recommend them!

Good Turkey Club! My only wish is that it had something on the side like a pickle. Sodas include one refill.

The food is SO GOOD and well priced. Each time that I have visited I have felt very welcome and at home. The staff is incredibly sweet and attentive and makes this local gem shine!

We went for the first time today since moving into town. We love eating breakfast out at diners. We thought it was good! Coffee was nice and hot, food was good and fairly priced, and the service was attentive. Can't ask for much more than that. My wife is a vegetarian, so we are eager to come back and try out the veggie burgers they also have!

Great cup of coffee if you like a nice strong dark roast! Went there bc of Yelp positive review on their pancakes n definitely will go back for their soft fluffy pancakes & homemade moist muffins! Only problem was go’s brought us to parking lot around the bend and their actually fight across street from train station.
