Café Amarcord

Went here for lunch, and it was a very nice dining experience. Extremely friendly service, and the food was delicious. Not a bad spot for lunch/dinner if you're making a trip to Beacon!

Honestly, I don't know how we didn't know about this place for so long! We discovered it last year and have gone back at least 1-2 times per month. The food is amazing, the service attentive, and the owner, Monica, is delightful. Always makes you feel so welcome. Highly recommend!

The service was unparalleled! They were able to sit us at the perfect table for our anniversary. The waitress was so attentive, and Made sure that everything was welcoming. The food was exquisite; flavor in every bite. At the end, they gave us Champagne on the house, for our Anniversary. We will be back!

Beacon is the best and cutest little town! So much to do and so many places to eat so we had a hard time deciding. We picked Cafe Amarcord and were not disappointed. The inside was beautiful and fancy but we chose outdoor dining off to the side. Our waiter (I think Ken) was pleasant and felt natural, like he knew his stuff and wasn't trying too hard.

Our cocktails looked and tasted artisan. I think about $13 each so certainly on the pricey side but my husband and I don't get time out for ourselves too frequently so it was worth the splurge. We got some warm toasty break with this dipping sauce. The bread pretty much serviced as a vessel to get a giant heaping mouthful of the sauce. I asked what was in it and promptly forgot but it was tomato based. Trust me, yummy!!

I had the meyer lemon rabbit. I love lemo but have yet to try rabbit. It tasted like chicken and was over polenta and some braised veggies. I honestly would've liked even more lemon taste or maybe some capers but I would order it again. My husband had the duck ragu and was very happy.

This isn't a place I would go to all the time. It is fancy and pricey but I would certainly go back for an anniversary or special occasion.

My partner and I have been here twice and both times experienced great service, food and drinks. What amazes me the most though, is the literal novel the servers memorize about the specials. It’s like a 5 minute speech. Both times my partner and I clapped afterwards because we were so impressed, ha!

Incredible! Every part of this meal was exceptional . From the bread to dessert every bite was memorable. There’s not enough ways to say you must go here. The staff was knowledgeable and sold the dishes perfectly the atmosphere was calm and romantic we had mussels that were fresh and cooked in the most delicious broth we also had lamb,fettuccine bolganese ,the special of pasta purses with 3 cheese and pear and chocolate dessert heaven go here go here go here

We recommend this restaurant to all our guests as it’s our place to go for a special evening out. The ambience of the restaurant is elegant but relaxed; the staff are always friendly, knowledgeable of the food being served as well as the beverages that would accompany your dish; the food on the menu is prepared and served with exquisite taste and we always look forward to “the specials” for that evening as they are always tempting for us to try new dishes.
Make sure you get a reservation as they’re always busy.

A great experience; it is a nice place, with great decor, staff was both friendly and very professional. It was a great dinner, even though people were seated around us, it was very quiet and easy to talk. Great place for both a date or a family meal.

What a treat, we are from NYC and spent the night in the Hudson Highlands. Could not imagine a better night out, and served with more class, more tasteful food and better wine. Amarcord is on top of their game. Would outcompete any nyc restaurant, and I dare you to disagree!

Absolutely delicious food. Attentive servers. The quail risotto starter was delicious, the tagliatelle short ribs was yummy, and I cannot recommend enough to fiocchi pasta. Even the tomato tapenade with the bread course was tasty.

I must say as a picky eater I tend to shy away from anything too out of the norm and bold. However I decided to live a little while dining here! The waiter Sammy was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and specials and did an excellent job at explaining the menu and making suggestions. I enjoyed some of the most delicious mussels there for my starter. The seafood was so clean and fresh tasting. The texture was superb and there wasn’t any of that sandy gritty texture you usually get. With mussels. The broth it was swimming in was a curry based broth but it didn’t have a musty or spicy taste. It was extremely flavorful and I couldn’t get enough of it! Sammy came around with more bread because he could tell that I was loving the broth. The bread was wonderfully grilled, not burnt but had a lovely char on it that complimented what I was eating. I tried octopus for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the lovely texture and flavorful taste! For my main course I got the free range baby chicken Fra Diavolo and broccoli rabe! Each bite was incredible and packed with flavor. Usually broccoli rabe for me taste too green lol. As I said I’m picky, however the texture and flavor were perfect. The chicken was so moist and the sauce was amazing. Not too spicy at all. The hostess Pamela was attentive and often checked on us and made the most perfect drink suggestions. The bar tender was accommodating and mixed up some of the divine French 75’s! The whole experience was world class! I felt like I was dining in a fancy NYC restaurant! I would definitely come back here again!

So lovely. Was really impressed with the quality and taste of the food. The pasta was very unique and so delicious. Price was very reasonable and I appreciated the variety of wine bottles available for affordable prices. Service was great even during their busiest time. Can’t wait to return

Fabulous dinner and service. We had a couple of specials of the night... A grilled calamari appetizer and veal chop dinner. I can't wait to go back. Nicole was a great server and everyone was kind. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Absolutely delicious. Café Amarcord is a wonderful find in Beacon! We were three for Saturday lunch and dined outside. The bistecca alla Fiorentina was exceptional, as were the Brussels sprout salad, octopus, and burger. They also have a nice wine list and lovely service. I will definitely return when I’m in the area again! So good.

Yummy specials . Cool drink menu. Great service and were treated particularly nicely for our anniversary. Definitely recommend.

It was a very lovely experience! We left a place we had reservations before and came here on a whim and were so glad we did. It is clear that everyone working there cares about providing good service. The quantity and variety of specials was impressive. It all felt very wholesome and friendly. The food was also very well done. And again, was very evident that they cared about the ingredients and presentation. Thank you!

Very nice atmosphere. Servers were great, attentive without being bothersome. Would highly recommended it.

Wonderful evening. They had Myers rum my favorite. I had perfectly ripe melon and prosciutto and wild boar bolognese both were outstanding . My boyfriend had a kale Brussels sprout salad with walnuts, and for his main course, lobster and pasta that had big beautiful tender pieces of lobster all perfectly sauced. We were too full for dessert.

Always great food and great service. Was there on September 11, 2022. The beet salad was terrific. The wine was amazing. And the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. My friend and I enjoyed our meal immensely

Excellent food pairing. Unique dishes expertly prepared. Servers were most attentive without being intrusive. A real dining pleasure.
