I had an exhaust leak that was diagnosed by a different shop but as welding was involved and that shop only had a welder one day a week I hadn’t taken care of it yet. One night I opened the hood to fill the washer reserve and the hood latch Handel separated from the cable. Couldn’t fully close the hood. This was urgent so I took it to Antons dropped it off and asked them to look at both issues but not to do the work until approved.
They called an hour or so later. The hood cable lever needed to be removed cleaned and reinstalled. As for the exhaust leak they diagnosed the same as my regular guy. It was a little more to fix but they could do it that day. I gave the ok.
When they called to say it was completed they mentioned the cost of the exhaust and it was exactly what they estimated. I jumped off the phone quickly and never asked the charge for the hood latch. When I walked in to pay I assumed the charge for cable latch was going to be a shocker.

It was.

They didn’t charge me anything for fixing the latch, and $20.00 less than quoted for the exhaust fix.

I have lived in this town since 1977 and Antons has been here the entire time. If they did business in the manner described in the other reviews they would have been gone long ago.

All I care about is honesty and they were honest with me. I’m Not sure why I had never used them before but I sure I’ll will be back.

This past weekend 07/30/21, we drove down from Boston to our hometown of Rockville Centre, NY. The tire light came on and we thought we had a leak. Instead, before we could get started, the mechanic came over to help. He evaluated , and we had two flat tires, lucky we did not have a blow out on the road down from Boston. The mechanic and Nick were very helpful and fixed our tires. And they say New Yorker's aren't friendly and accomodating. As a matter a fact, they still had our old address in the computer. Times might change, but good customer service still lives on.

These guys are the best. Mike had been taking care of my vehicles for years, motorcycle too.

I needed a minor inspection required for my auto insurance. Chuck was very kind and attentive and treated me like an important customer. I say this because other places blew me off and gave me the impression that they could not be bothered. My insurance would have been cancelled without this inspection. In my opinion this a business with integrity which still believes in treating the customer with respect. I recommend them to anyone needing service.

Efficient and got the job done. Didn't call me though when it was ready. I had to call.

Went there yesterday for inspection. They said I need 4 new tire I said I have the tire. The guy told me to come back today 8:am for mounting & balance and can wait for 1-2 hours. Come back this morning 7:55 am another nasty arrogant guy in the counter makes me wait at counter. Took the key said leave the car will call me back. I said I was told yesterday I can wait for it. He just gave me back the key and turn away. Crazy fool. Has problem in his life!

EDIT TO RESPOND TO ANTON'S

My car did not officially pass or fail the inspection at your shop, as it was never inspected there. The person on duty called me about 1 hour later and told me that my car would not pass the inspection because it needed brakes that would cost me $750. I immediately picked up my car and took elsewhere where it in fact it passed the inspection. No, I do not have an invoice nor you not know my name because the work was never done at your place...not for an unnecessary $750...

Went here to get my car inspected. They told me in order to pass the inspection I would need to change the front and back brakes for a whooping $750 dollars. I picked up my car back so fast. Oh and their nasty attitudes didn’t help the case either.

Went to 5 Corners Auto Shop in Malverne where it passed the inspection with flying colors. I wouldn’t trust Anton’s as they try to scam you. Never again!

Went in for a simple Carco photo inspection, but they obviously dont want to provide the service. Overall this place should be avoided at all cost.
I called, was told to just come in. I walked in and 1st the man took a man who walked in after i did. Once finished with that man, he went and pumped gas. I still waited. Then another man walked in and he started to help him with a photo inspection. When I said no I was here first, I was told yours will be 15 mins, his is only a few mins. I said let him wait his turn. The employee said no, you have to wait. After a few choice words I left.
There is another reviewer who had a similiar experence. Seems to be a pattern.

I won't even get gas there anymore. Go anywhere else.

The dimwitted Harry who i imagine is the manager of the place fails to direct anyone to the actual inspector. The inspector himself is a senile old man who gets too flustered to allow customers to fill out the paperwork in an orderly line so it can move faster. Overall this place should be avoided as i cant imagine they can handle anything mechanical since they cant fix these issues.

Edit post owner response - I accept your apology, just please dont tell customers to wait 20 min and then another 30 min because you took someone else who walked in after them. Poor management skills

Do not trust this gas station. They ALWAYS find something else wrong with the car (unless your car is brand spanking new) - and they charge you more than double what another place would. Here's a story: I asked for a tire rotation. When I went to pick up my car, they said they did the tire rotation. Now, a year later, I asked for a tire rotation at Sears and they COULDN'T do it because there was no key to unlock the tires! Sears called me on my cell phone (while I was shopping there) and asked if I knew where the key was to unlock the tires. I didn't know anything about a "key" to unlock my tires. I had to call my dealer to ask where this key is to unlock the tires so I could have the tires rotated. He told me it would be near the spare. I found it but believe me, Anton's did not remove that key and unlock my tires to do the tire rotation because it was very firmly in a "cutout" storage, under the mats in the trunk near the spare tire. If Anton's had rotated my tires I am absolutely sure I would have heard from them asking where this key was so they could rotate the tires. This key was never used, never removed from it's "slot". Hence no tires were rotated. Well, Anton's got the $15. No big deal. It seems that Anton's needs the money more than I do. But they are LIARS. Also, I went there one other time and put in an order just for an inspection. They did the inspection but they also did an oil change (which I did not need and DID NOT ASK FOR). It wasn't necessary because they changed the SYNTHETIC OIL I had in the car and put in conventional oil. When I asked about his, Kevin (a manager there) said it was no big deal because my car didn't need synthetic oil. Of course they charged me for the oil change. He said "next time you can get a free oil change". Well, there won't be a next time. I'm so done with Anton's Car Care. All they "care" about is making money, charge way too much for what they do, lie and rip you off. Don't go there. They are awful.

had to get a photo inspection done here for GEICO. took FOREVER - way longer than the 15 minutes the guy promised me. also you can't leave your car while they do it and some of the guys that work here are nasty!

This place apparently accepts stolen credit cards!!!! checked my account balance and saw an $82.00 charge is pending from Anton's Car Care..... I live in Washington State and have never even been to New York!!!!!

the girlfriend took the car to get inspected and he said that she needed a whole bunch of work that came out to 1200 that she did not need and he said it would not pass without the work
