Very solid Italian spot. Highlight was the pork jowl and wild mushroom pasta. One of the best pastas I’ve had in the US. Crab cakes were delicious. Lobster risotto was ok. Chocolate cake center could’ve been hotter for contrast with the gelato. Drinks were solid and service was solid.

Food is very very good. Pictures are some of the dishes: Oxtail dish 10/10 (the one with wide pasta), mushroom pork dish 7/10 (the one with thin noodles), and Wild Boar 9/10 (the one with veggies). The bread is hard. Location is welcoming and clean. Service is average, the waiter was friendly but whispering, talking very fast, difficult to understand.

I hope the food quality is not a fluke because it's the best fettuccine I've ever had. I got sausage fet and wife got seafood fettuccine. They're just soo good. We couldn't get a reservation so we showed up around 5pm on a Saturday to get table. Got one close to the bar and got happy hour appetizer too. Totally recommend their fettuccine.

Must dine here to have a gastronomical experience of modern Italian cuisine!

Great atmosphere and cozy! Our server was very friendly and explained all the dishes and enjoyed his recommended dishes.

Must try their truffles mushroom polenta, lamb meatballs, and for the entree I had halibut with pesto sauce and asparagus.

Picture doesn’t do the justice of the flavors and texture of the meal!

Dessert: mascarpone lemon custard

Wonderful food, excellent cocktails, and service was very nice as well. We've been many times and it's always consistent and delicious. Can get a little loud inside but overall an excellent restaurant that I greatly enjoy!

Such a delight. Scrumptious food. We had the shrimp fettuccine. Lobster ravioli was a bit well done that it made it chewy but still yummy.

Lobster bisque was the standout.

Service was quick and welcoming.

Really enjoyed the experience overall, friendly, helpful staff, amazing food! I asked for my steak rare and they made sure it was to my liking before leaving us to enjoy the meal. I will be back for sure!
Update: Still a great place for food, attentive staff, overall a great experience.

Beautifully cozy and semi-formal environment that just enhances the experience. Food is fresh, local, and bursting with flavor. Extensive wine list which includes Italian and local varieties. Staff provides friendly and helpful service that rounds out the amazing experience you will have here.

All of the food is exceptional. I've never had anything bad here. There service is above average, but the wait time for food can be a little long. One of my top 5 favorite restaurants.

I was taking my daughter out for dinner and picked Volterra as a higher end Italian restaurant that was actually recommended by Racheal Ray.

The dining space was a little on the small side and felt slightly cramped especially with proper distancing, but beyond that it was amazing.

The staff was friendly and worked hard to give you the best service.

The food was beyond excellent. Before you even order drinks they rush out half a loaf of sliced hot Italian bread with olive oil and seasonings to have it with. The appetizer meat and cheese plate was the best tasting cuts, and cheese olives.

We both agreed on and had the Dungeness crab ravioli. It was perfect! Filled with a lot of fresh tasting crab, made with hand made organic pasta and covered with a sauce that made the whole dish heavenly.

We shared a chocolate dessert with vanilla gelato and hot fudge sauce on the inside. Yummy!

It is about $80 to $100 for two people but well worth it for special occasions and if you love really good Italian food.

Girlfriend and I came here from Lacey. The food and service were excellent, very elegant atmosphere. The pricing is very fair too for how good the food is! We had a meal with two drinks for little over $80. It is now my favorite place to eat in Bellevue

Their calamari is a must! We came here for Seattle restaurant week menu only found out they did not have the scallop. We end up ordering right from the menu and it turned out to be amazing. Their calamari appetizer it so good that i almost take another order to take with me home. We also ordered clam linguini and the boar, and they both tastes pretty good. The only drawback is we came during the happy hour but unable to order HH drinks from the bar and to take it back to our table because we have an infant.

Love going here for a relaxing evening out. I have been here more then a handful of times and each time it’s delish. I always enjoy trying new items off the menu. We have done the paring dinner menu several times and each time it’s better then the last . The service is top notch, they come by the table without invading your space. I would recommend making a reservation, however we normally do this before we start our 10 min drive downtown. The restaurant is smaller, however we have never been turned away and it's not loud like some of the other small restaurants in Kirkland.

Today was my birthday and I had the most fabulous meal I could have asked for. We had a strip steak and the Bolognese and the Burrata appetizer and the polenta appetizer and it was amazing. it’s been about four hours and I’m still so full and so happy that I celebrated my birthday at Volterra!

The food was amazing and delicious. Our server was attentive, but didn't hover. We weren't rushed and no one seemed impatient that we lingered over dessert. It was a great experience

I love coming here on busy nights and sitting at the bar, it (almost always) has a spot or two available.
Their bread and oil is amazing. They make their own seasoning and it’s delicious, you can also buy it and take it home.
I love their clams and the clam pasta, but everything is always good.
Service is amazing as well, everyone is very polite and classy
