We were a staying at campground and decided to eat at the cafe. VERY GLAD we did! Excellent meal. Service was top notch. Owner was present. Ordered the “special “. Homemade turkey meal. GREAT. Save room for pie. We ordered three types - strawberry rhubarb, apple, and thimble berry cheesecake. All delicious. Funky “hometown”atmosphere with older memorabilia. Would do again. Ask server for their recommendations and “go with it”. Remember. You are NOT in Chicago or NYC (thank God). You are in Montana. Enjoy!!

Had dinner @ Johnson's last night. Really good food.....husband and I had the special, Pork Tinderloin with Huckleberry sauce served family style. So good and tender. The meal came with coleslaw, beef and barley soup, home made bread and butter, mashed potatoes and gravy. This meal was so good. (Could hear 2 other tables around us talking about how good their meals were too and how happy they were that they had come to Johnson's). We plan on going back before we leave the area.

Great location! The food was wonderful! We had the dinner specials (fried chicken) and The Jammer burger. Everything was hot and served family style. We especially loved the cornbread! Thank you for being open on Sunday!

This is a review for the restaurant, not the hotel. I can't get Google to distinguish the difference. The food here was phenomenal. Some of our family had their own meals, while others got family-style and it was all delicious! The atmosphere was also charming, fun, and kitschy. We would definitely return on our next trip to Glacier.

We stayed here at the ‘Flat Top’ cabin. We also had lunch at the restaurant once!
The food was good, service friendly and quick.
I really enjoyed the homemade soup- the same recipe since 1950’s!

(I’m not sure about the sanitation as someone else mentioned. I did notice my soup bowl was chipped. I think my school teacher said that germs can live in the chipped dinnerware).

I just went to the restaurant for lunch a couple times and the food and service was pretty outstanding. Very western/Glacier look to it . Had the thimbleberry cheesecake for desert and it was pretty phenomenal. Never heard of it before so I had to try it and glad I did. I drove through the RV Park and the sites looked very close together but the view was awesome...

We ate at the restaurant during a visit to Glacier. I'm so glad we did! The family history and joy they have in their restaurant is incredible. Everyone was kind and friendly. And the food was surprisingly good, especially considering everything else around there has been pretty bad. I would totally visit again!

We did not camp but are at the restaurant which was fabulous! I had the Huckleberry BBQ pork! Served with coleslaw, mash potatoes and beef barley soup this meal was not only filling but delicious!! Fast friendly service and great food make this hidden gem a must visit for lunch or dinner after visiting Glacier National Park (St. Mary)!

The wait system is a bit odd but if you're patient the food is well worth it. We had the huckleberry BBQ pork special and it was great. Everything is homemade including the soup, bread, and desserts. Definitely not a place to go eat if you're in a rush but well worth it if you have time and definitely better than other local restaurants. The atmosphere and story behind the restaurant is very cool. Definitely take the time to read all of the stories on the menu.

My wife and I stayed at the campground. Water pressure was great, no issues with the electrical, site was level, and views were awesome. The dump station was setup nicely. We were given tokens for the showers but didn't use them. Office staff was knowledgeable and friendly, gave us tons of info. Most definitely follow the directions and come down from the north (464) if pulling an RV, it will save your brakes and the winding road isn't worth coming up from the south

Family style dinner was amazing. Highly recommend. If you’re fussy you will think this is too inflexible - go somewhere else. if you’re looking for a delicious family-recipe home cooked meal it can’t be beat. Loved it.

My son and I made two trips from West Glacier while Going To The Sun Road was still closed, making for a long drive, to do some hiking on the east side. We ate here both times and absolutely loved it. The food, atmosphere, and employees were fantastic......next trip to Glacier we will be camping on the east side so we can have better access to Johnson's! Thanks for some great food and even better memortes! A+

We ate at the Cafe. Good food in a great atmosphere... Like a museum. Needed water to fill our 5 gallon jugs since we were camping off grid. The girl told us to fill in their Campground no problem.

This a great little place! The food was wonderful and the staff friendly. We will be stopping again. The price was fair considering the normal price is a such a tourist area and plenty of food. We had the Sunday chicken special with an extra bowl of "Good Soup" and split it. It sure was good soup too. I could smell it as soon as I walked in and wanted some.

Quaint little diner with an amazingly friendly atmosphere and serving all homemade food! The staff was very accommodating and the food hit the spot. Good, down home, made from scratch food. The view is also gorgeous, so be sure to drink that in with your Huckleberry Cream Fizz.

Oh this place is fun!! Family owned and the BEST FOOD! Son said it was the best chicken fried steak sandwich he ever had. Hubz and I had the chicken special served family style and their desserts...omg!! Huckleberry ice cream pie! Yasss. Waiter was super friendly. Guy who greeted us was a bit gruff but you could tell he was just a softy at heart. Fun menu and the staff liked talking to you. Made you fell real welcome.

We are here twice (lunch and a dinner) during our stay at the KOA St Mary/East glacier campground. The servers are friendly and the food is so good and all homemade! We highly recommend the burgers on their homemade bread! They also had the best tea I’ve ever had! We ate at a few restaurants on the East Glacier/St Mary side and they had the best food and the best value that we found.

This review is for the cafe. Don’t come here unless you’re looking for a fantastic home cooked meal, in a cozy warm restaurant. Best fried chicken meal ever!

Love this place! Their “special” soup was amazing, and came with every meal, served family style, and our whole family enjoyed it. Wait staff was all young and very friendly, they really took care of us well. I had their 178 burger and it was delicious! It was so large I had to use a fork to eat it. The homemade bread it was served on was great. We also had a grilled chicken Caesar salad, which was delicious, and their kids meals were very large.
The absolute best part though was the old country music they played during our meal, Johnny Cash serenaded is as we ate, and it was awesome! The decor was also unique, but fitting to the area and the setting. Would come back anytime we’re in the area! Prices were excellent and servings large and delicious!
