The Henry Clay is a unique experience in this day of cookie cutter hotels serving fast food meals. The building is charming, the rooms are comfortable and the restaurant is an amazing surprise. I have stayed there many times and the charm and convenience continue to bring me back.

Passing through and decided to give this place a try for brunch. EXCELLENT! We had the pork belly & lobster Benedict as well as the banana blueberry pancakes. Richards served us, he was sweet & gracious. He even told us local folklore, shared some interesting facts.

The dining room has a bit of a dated vibe, but I thought it added to the charm of the bed and breakfast.

This inn is better than any other that I have been to so far. It is also very cozy. The staff: friendly and will do their best to help you with any problems. The food: delicious and quick. The room: amazingly comfortable and the view of the railroad is amazing! Next time I visit Ashland, I will stay here. I have never had such a good hotel experience ever before.

I booked a room here because it was close enough to DC but not in the heart of it. I absolutely enjoyed my stay. Staff was wonderful, especially William. He helped me with my bags and made sure that I was well informed and gave me food options in the area. I will definitely be staying here again. Hope to see you again William!

We greatly enjoyed our stay to see the Christmas lights, and will stay again when we make it back to Ashland again. A great location and so nice to sit on the downstairs or upstairs porch. The staff here is so friendly and accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Henry Clay Inn. Our room was clean and adequately sized for our family. The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. The location of the Inn is fantastic. It's across from the campus of Randolph Macon College and just a block away from the shops and restaurants on Center St. The Amtrak station is directly across from the Inn but the trains never disturbed our sleep. Highly recommend if you are visiting the Ashland area.

From the day I made the reservation for The Henry Clay Inn to the morning of our checkout, we felt welcome. Driving home from the OBX to Ligonier PA, we needed a half way point to stop for one night. The friendly town of Ashland was it. Our stay was perfect, from the charming inn’s rooms to the delicious dinner on the porch and breakfast in the am. The service and attention to our needs was impeccable. Located across from the Ashland train station added to the charm of our stay. We will return!

This is a quaint little bed & breakfast that is absolutely gorgeous! The decor is warm & inviting. This city is known for the railroads & the Inn sits directly behind the train station. The staff and accommodations at the Henry Clay Inn were both amazing! The restaurant serves all locally sourced food with everything made in house. The bread, biscuits, jelly - everything was delicious! The staff took excellent care of us and made sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and the linens were luxurious. It's the perfect place for a relaxing get-a-way!

We did a girls trip to run the Ashland 1/2 marathon and what a great location! We could walk right out to the start line. Beautiful Inn and we loved the breakfast after our race.

Such a wonderful dining experience! Unique dishes with great southern flair, including my favorite, fried green tomatoes. Friendly and energetic staff! Even though we stopped by at the end of the night our waitress was amazing and made us feel right at home. Which was nice because my 82yo grandmother and I had just gotten back in town after driving all day. She was very engaging and personable and was a delight at the end of our day. Highly recommend!!!

First time at the Henry Clay Inn for Sunday brunch. The BLT sandwich and Vegetarian Omelette were exceptionally good and the prices were reasonable. Sorry I forgot to take pictures but I can say that the presentation was excellent. The servers were very busy but the service was very good. Planning to go back in the near future.

Went for a second time and brought friends who also loved it too. And I remembered the pictures this time.

This place is a wonderful part of our community. For one, it is a historic inn and cozy place to catch a train and watch trains. Two, they serve an awesome breakfast on the weekends from 8 am to 2 pm. They are open during the week as well. My serving this Sunday was Jessica. She is awesome... Very attentive! There is a meeting room here as well. I have attended several functions here. It is great for a small gathering 80 or less. Beautiful decor and knowledgeable staff. It is neat to see all of the pictures from the holiday parade on the walls.
