Bistro Eighty Ates

This was a fun place to eat. I met a friend there at her suggestion. Not disappointed. The staff 100% on point. Not overly checking on me while I'm eating or reading the menu to order. I felt so relaxed and comfy in our little booth. The drinks.. many suggestions made by the server one picked. Winter blues was the name of it it had a light in it and was perfectly prepared. Only thing besides my water that I managed to finish completely. Appetizers were a nice variety I settled with the spinach artichoke dip. Was brought in a wood plate like thing. The dip was perfectly warm and I almost ate all of that too. Dinner entree was smokehouse ribs with french fries and coleslaw. Ended up taking most of that home with me. The ribs were smokey, rich in BBQ sauce, fell right off the bone melt in ur mouth. I truly enjoyed what I could eat and then 2 days later I finished them and Jesus couldn't have cooked them better himself. Lastly dessert.... I had the Oreo cookie pie. Delish...i ate as much as I could an brought the rest home.... Worth the 8.99. Now I ordered their clam chowda to go because I'm a huge chowder fan and when someone says they have a rich and creamy chowda I'm down to voice my opinion. I love the cove in mystic CT. They had the thickest and creamiest I've ever tasted .... TILL NOW... Warning.. warning ... Thick and delish u may get addicted... Mind u I took it to go and am now eating it 2 days later.. BOMB.. Anyway the chowda is to die for. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone... (Like my Subaru). It's a lil pricey but well worth every dime! Even Jesus would be impressed .. thanks for such a tasty meal and a welcoming warm environment to consume it in. I hope more ppl enjoy your food

Went here for a birthday, i can’t say enough how wonderful it was! The BBQ is out of this world, the steak is tender and flavorful, the dessert and drinks are stellar

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I ordered the brisket bites, the Zepoli, and the Cajun chicken Alfredo. The bites were very good with nice flavor and nice texture throughout. The Zepoli was soft, warm, and very tasty. The Cajun Chicken was the best. Great flavor, nicely cooked pasta, and plenty of it. A very nice experience. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 9.2.

Staff was attentive, and friendly. All staff I came into contact with wore masks properly. Atmosphere was classy and comfortable. Restrooms were single person use and very clean. I had a sprite. I started with the brisket bites. The brisket bites were delicious. A great combination and great value for price. I would have liked a bit more of the onion in it as I didn't taste much of the onion but overall wonderful flavor. The brisket melted in your mouth and perfect amount of sauce. I then had the side caesar salad and I would have liked it a little colder when served but overall perfect ratio of lettuce, dressing, croutons and cheese. I enjoyed the monte cristo melt which was a special today when I went in. It is the perfect brunch sandwich. The way the flavors blend together with the maple syrup really bring it full circle. The sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection. Presentation of all plates was exquisite. The price was great especially considering that they have so many options that are not something you get to enjoy everyday. All in all I would 100% recommend eating at eighty ates.

Recently moved to the area. I brought my kids in for an early dinner because I've been wanting to try this place. Sidney our server was awesome and my kids said it was their new favorite restaurant. Food was great and priced right.

Everything was delish. Kellsbells had the shrimp scampi and loved it. I had a GF chicken poke bowl and it was also great.

My husband and I went out for our 25th wedding anniversary. I've never had a bad meal there and I didn't tonight either. We had the best service - great timing, just the right amount of attention and super personality and professionalism.

I was pleasantly surprised at the mixing of atmostphere, affordability, and plate size. I called to make sure the restaraunt was kid-friendly, and the man answering the phone was so pleasant.

We got there in time for brunch and sat in the dining room area as opposed to the bar section. I had the "Morning Surf N' Turf" which was comprised with steak, two over easy eggs over buttered crab meat, corned beef hash as a substitute for potatoes, asparagus and hollaindaise. Amazing.

My husband got the Chicken Sandwich. It was two grilled cheese sandwiches serving as the buns, and parmesian fries- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

My friend got the Poutine...a rich and hearty dish with fries, fried cheese curds, and sausage gravy. We all sampled each others dishes and we were very happy with them! We will be going back for sure!

Food is always fantastic here. For some it may be a little pricey but well worth it compared to some of the other options in and around town.

Dining, there are two main areas plus the bar. It does tend to be a little loud when the place is full.

This was the $88 family take out turkey dinner. It was amazing. Serving utensils, butter, dressing, croutons, etc included.

Got the Cajun crusted rib eye. Was perfect and the mashed potatoes with a corn salsa was great. Also got the blackened chicken chipotle Alfredo. It was awesome and chicken was tender and tasty.

Loved loved loved everything!!!! This is our new go to restaurant. Even my son tried new things which he NEVER does. I hope to see some swordfish, butternut squash and mussels on the specials menu sometime. Thank you for an amazing dinner for my family.

Went here for brunch with Cindy Loo Who and The Grinch. Staff is fun and polite. Definitely will get your money’s worth. Food was fresh and plentiful. Very quaint and cozy. Will be back.

I hadn't eaten here since before the pandemic. We decided to go here for a birthday dinner and we're not disappointed in any way by the food or the staff. Our waitress Sabrina was fast, efficient, and friendly. It can get a little noisy but that was obviously because everyone was having a great night there. Well worth the money

Visited for the first time for trivia. I had called to confirm my online reservation and the lady who answered the phone was very accommodating. Once I arrived I was greeted by her and our waitress Jen. Jen was one of the best waitresses we've ever had. She shared her favorite dishes with us and was very attentive and kind the entire night. The food was very tasty and arrived pretty quick. Our drinks were filled accordingly throughout the night despite the large trivia crowd. I will definitely be back !

Another fantastic meal and experience at Bistro 88. Had the beef wellington with risotto. It was unbelievable and the cinnamon bourbon bread pudding for desert. It was to die for! You can't beat this place for the quality and price. The owner and staff are great! Wonderful service. You can't go wrong dining here.
