The Goddard School of Mechanicsville

We have loved our time at the Goddard School of Mechanicsville! Both of our daughters started in the infant room and grew up there all the way through Kindergarten. We are so sad that our school years are coming to an end soon, but we are looking forward to still enjoying summer camp for years to come! The owner seems to have the well being of the children and the staff at the forefront of her decision making and has made many positive improvements to the facility. As a working parent it’s definitely tough sometimes to be away from my kids all day, but knowing that the teachers at Goddard are loving on them and giving them the freedom to explore and learn through play is a comfort and a blessing. I appreciate that the expectation even from a young age is for the kids to learn respect and kindness- values that are important to our family. The directors and teachers give so much patience and love for our kids while growing them up to be collaborative, curious, and confident!

The growth and development my children have had since attending Goddard has been tremendous. The staff is incredible, the school as a whole is great with communication. They keep the kids minds and body busy.

Goddard School in Mechanicsville has really made a difference for us. Our child has been thriving there and is well cared for. His teachers are attentive, and we’ve seen him reach milestones earlier than expected. We stay connected and have great communication with the teachers and staff. We highly recommend this school!

Goddard Mechanicsville was a WONDERFUL school for our daughter. She was greeted everyday by administration who knew her name and were incredibly friendly. The teachers were exceptional and she learned so much while having a great time. We would recommend Goddard Mechanicsville to anyone!

Our 3 year old LOVES going to his school every day. All of the staff is supper kind and friendly. This is my second child to attend and we couldn’t be happier. It’s good to know as a parent that our child is safe and enjoying everything you have to offer. The only thing that I would say is bad is the extra charges for the classes. Tuition is high as it is.

I transferred my daughters here from a different facility, and I have nothing but great things to say about TGS Mechanicsville. The director and administrative staff are always welcoming and very helpful. The teachers are ALL superb (we have been in 4 classrooms), the classroom structure, schedule and activities are both fun and educational, and the facility is clean, bright, and warm. I love the correspondance and daily information about what the kids are working on throughout the week and the photos on the app. The teachers each take time to get to know our children as individuals and are fantastic at communicating and working with parents through any behavioral or developmental concerns. This is not a place that just "watches" your children. They truly care for, teach, and support your children. I cannot recommend TGS highly enough.

I moved my son to the Goddard in Mechanicsville in June and my son absolutely loves it. He loves the directors and all of the staff, they are extremely friendly and he always has fun. The education provided and curriculum is great and he always is learning something new. He is currently in the private kindergarten and after school program and loves it. He has not cried once since he started about going into class and I love how happy he is and the relationships he has formed. I would highly recommend this school. The owner as well as directors are amazing !!

We were so lucky to discover Goddard School of Mechanicsville when we had our son! It has been such a great place for him to attend. The staff are caring, attentive and friendly and seem to be truly invested in our child's growth and well-being. They have great programs in place like yoga, sign language assistance and activity centers. I'd highly recommend it.

My daughter has attended Goddard for 8 years. It is the best childcare center in the area. Working full time is stressful with a child, but I’ve always had piece of mind leaving her in their care. The faculty is clean and well taken care of. The staff is loving and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them!

I love The Goddard School. The owner, directors, and teachers are amazing with my son. He has learned so much since attending this school. I say “school” because it’s not named as a daycare, nor do any of the staff treat children at The Goddard School as a daycare - the entire staff is versed in early childhood development (whether formally educated or years of experience).

I have formed wonderful bonds with the directors, owner, and each of my son’s teachers. They all communicate, with me, experiences, joys, successes, and concerns regarding my son - because communication is extremely important.

I just can't say enough positive things about The Goddard School. I am always proud to say that my son attends The Goddard School!

We started our Goddard Mechanicsville journey after having difficult experiences at a local Montessori School (Montessori is great, just wasn't a good fit for our child). Goddard of Mechanicsville took a child who'd experienced difficult interactions at school daily at her previous preschool and turned her into a preschooler who loved school and felt successful there (at her previous school, she'd come home saying that she was a "bad kid"!). Goddard of Mechanicsville actually felt even more child-centered than our previous Montessori program. They were able to offer a very loving environment that also provided structure in a way that worked for our child. The teachers and admin staff are all so attentive. The facility is super clean and well decorated. The communication with the staff could not be better - they are very timely and professional in their responses to email and phone calls. I can't recommend Goddard of Mechanicsville enough!

The leadership at this school is amazing! It starts with an active owner who not only drives the operation, but you'll also see her in the classrooms. The directors and teachers are very good. They all play a large role in the development of your child or children. The constant communication is so much appreciated. Thank you!!!

I can't say enough good things about Goddard in Mechanicsville. Our son attended from 16 months until he was 4 years old - we only left because we moved to the other side of town. The teachers are dedicated, kind, and creative. Kathy and Steve create a really welcoming and fun atmosphere, and it's clear that the staff enjoy their work. There is a real dedication to both loving each child as an individual and to learning through play. Lots of stories, songs, art projects, and playtime. We loved all of the special events and parties - our son looked forward to them, and they were a chance to get to know the other families.

Nuts and bolts stuff: The facility is modern and spotless. Excellent communication between the school, the teachers, and the parents - daily email updates, phone calls whenever there was a bump or a bruise or a fever. Students bring their own lunch, but snacks are provided - I liked being able to feed our son as I chose. Very accountable in terms of administering medications, etc.

But most of all - I felt that our son's time at Goddard was so good for him because he was part of a loving community. I'll always be grateful to them!

Great environment and school for the little ones, Goddard school Mechanicsville, gives the parents peace of mind. We know we are leaving our babies in good care. The teachers and staff are all very helpful and caring. The building is clean and beautiful decorated! We also love all the extra family activities!

This is a wonderful school and my very shy son is delighted each day to go here!
The teachers and staff know each kid by name and are so caring. My son was anxious at first and he had the most wonderful teacher who sat and talked with him to calm him down. We also enjoy the pictures and detailed updates they send each day!

Trust me when I say that my wife and I toured countless daycares in a 20 mile radius of our house before our first son was born and this Goddard is simply the “gold standard.” We can’t thank the teachers enough for teaching and loving our kids every day while we are at work. We never have to worry because we see the pictures they send us during the day and their shining smiles say it all. Kudos to this great group of teachers and staff, we are so lucky to have you!

I have worked in childcare for many years and The Goddard School in Mechanicsville is an incredible school to work for! My own son started in our Preschool I program and now attends our private Kindergarten. Watching him learn and grow here with amazing and passionate teachers is such a blessing! I recommend The Goddard School in Mechanicsville to everyone!

We absolutely love the staff at The Goddard School! Everyone we have come into contact with since we toured has been so kind and caring. They have truly taken such great care of our little one, and he absolutely LOVES going each day!! We are so thankful to have found such a wonderful place!!

Our older daughter has been at The Goddard School in Mechanicsville for 2.5 years and we’ve had nothing but excellent experiences from the infant class all the way through now beginning potty training. What I love most about TGS is how they deliver academic lessons, instill good social skills and cultivate her imagination. She comes home happy every day! We’re excited to have our younger daughter starting at TGS next month as we know she will receive the same amazing love, patience, and learning.

We've been part of The Goodard School Mechanicsville family for the past six years. Our older two children had a nanny until the ages of three and four. With that level of dedicated and loving care you can imagine I was terrified to enroll them in a 'daycare' but felt compelled to for the social interaction with other kids and the structured classroom time. My standard are extremely high (ask anyone that knows me) and Goddard has surpassed them each and every day. Our older two children have more than excelled in elementary school and I must attribute a great deal of that to their teachers at The Goddard School. They have tested off the charts from day one and their teachers have even commented 'this is typical with students who attend the Mechanicsville Goddard'.

Fast forward a few years and our youngest joined the Goddard family at four months. I was like a brand new parent as I never had a child that young in 'daycare' notice I keep using quotes because they are family to use not 'daycare'. Our youngest was NOT an easy baby. She refused to take a bottle, when we finally got her to would only allow one teacher to feed her. The teachers and directors at Goddard never gave up, they continued to love on her just as I would. She is three, has been speaking in complete sentences and fully potty trained since the age of two. Again, highly attributable to the amazing Goddard family.

Again, queen of high standards here and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
