Great food!! Carryout only!! Drunken noodle is my favorite and the Crispy rolls are a must!! Pulled up today and worker was picking fresh peppers and basil from the luscious plants surrounding the building!! Awesome!!

This is one of the best Thai restaurants in Richmond. The food is consistently good since the day they opened. The portions are good and the prices are reasonable. It is a family owned restaurant, you often find the husband or their son at the front. All the delicious dishes are cooked by the wife, once she told me that she learned how to cook from her mom. We have been coming here for sixteen years. Pad Thai is truly a hole in the wall. A small dining room right off Meadowbridge road and right next to the railroad. If you are lucky, you get to experience the sound and vibration when a train goes by. The owners have built planters around the front entrance and filled with spicy Thai pepper plants. This is also where you can get real spicy food; the heat level ranges from Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot, to Thai Hot. My favorite dishes are Crispy Duck, Chicken Red Curry, and Drunken Noodles. It might be out of your way, but you really should give it a try.
Right now, they are doing take-outs only. Inside the restaurant foot traffic marked clearly with silver arrows on the floor to minimize physical contacts. Be aware that they are closed from 2 PM to 4 PM.

I gave the atmosphere 5 stars because anyone who likes food knows the best food is at places that look like this on the outside.

Apparently they are only offering takeout. The first time I ate here I stumbled upon it. That was over 10 years ago...I couldn't find it again until this year and it is as good as ever.

The food here is simply incredible! 11/10

My only note is the levels of spiciness have varied, erring on the side of being not quite as spicy as we'd like, but this is understandable as it's pretty subjective and many might find it too spicy. This is specifically for hot/very hot spice level, so stick to your guns and ask for Thai spicy if you're looking for real spice!

This place is great! Got some duck curry and boy was it spicy, wasn't quite expecting the spice level, but I don't mind spice so I enjoyed it. Either way high quality Thai if you live in Richmond and feel like making a little trip out of the city or if you are passing by the area it is definitely a don't miss place!

So delicious! We've tried several dishes already and have loved them all. Panang curry, red curry, massaman curry, duck curry, crispy duck, pad Thai, spicy seafood, fish cake, calamari, and #18 seafood appetizer are all very good and flavorful. Prices are reasonable for the quality and great taste. This is our go-to spot for Thai food now!

2017-10-03 nice people and nice small restaurant, people stop in and carryout, we sat inside and it was quiet, not busy, the appetizers (spring roll and steamed dumplings), sweet and sour (beef and vegetables) and panang curry chicken were so good! I didn't really care for the Thai fried rice though. This is a place that I recommend and want to come back to, when in the area. The panang curry chicken has so much chicken and I love that! Would be nice to have more vegetables in the panang curry.

Best Thai food in the Mechanicsville area. Amazing portions for the price, peppers homegrown right outside on the patio garden. Cannot stress enough the low prices and large portion sizes. Amazing food.

As I swiped my card to pay, I commented, Best rest. In Richmond (area)'. The guy behind the glass, 'Best customer!' As I picked up my order to leave, the guy behind me stepped forward, 2nd Best customer reporting!'. This place is outstanding!

I come here regularly and I’ve never been disappointed with my meal, affordably priced entrees with a lot of flavor make this my go to spot

The food here is absolutely amazing and one of my favorite Asian places in the area. I really hope they open the dining area again.

This is legitimately one of THE BEST restaurants I've eaten at in my life. The food is fresh (like, grow their own veggies on site fresh), delicious, the service is excellent. Hands down one of my top five favorites.

I have eaten here for well over a decade, and they continue to be amazing. Flavors fresh as the garden on their front porch.

My favorites are the drunken noodles, green curry, Massaman curry, fried tofu, and, of course, the eponymous Pad Thai. I order everything mild, and it is still quite flavorful.

Very good Thai food, on par with the best Thai restaurants I've visited. Despite being in the building it's in, the out of the way location is a very nice detail to me. I don't like eating at really busy places or during peak hours.

I imagine that the cheaper space and the money saved therein, plus not having to pay wait staff is why the prices are today much lower than other Thai restaurants.

I paid only $18 for two dinner portions of Pad Thai with chicken. What they should cost. At a place in another city, those two orders would cost almost $40!

Definitely one of my new favorites and I will be back at least once a month!

The best Thai food with great service. Absolutely unparalleled service, never seen such a well organized, disciplined, friendly service. Hope they really succeed very well in their business and life. GREAT PEOPLE.

Was an excellent lunch, perfect spice and great prices. Everything I was looking for, don't let the location fool you.

This is the most authentic Thai food you are going to find in the greater RIC area. They grow their own herbs, peppers and spices in their garden next to the restaurant and the freshness you can taste. Owners are Super friendly.

Awesome!!! OMG this place amazing. I had the Tom kha gai and larb both were so flavorful. Can't wait to go back
