Having just returned from an extended stay we appreciate the personalized service we received from the Postmaster and his staff at the Layton Post office to insure prompt delivery of Premium Forwarded Mail. When we had questions they responded promptly even going so far as to email us weekly tracking info for our packages!

The gal who answers the phone is friendly and thorough on a lost package sent out of state. Found it after submitting a lost package request!

Very pleased with the service and staff at the Layton office. I ship packages usually 4 times a week. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. The Priority supplies in the lobby are usually stocked well. I also like the 24 hour postage machine, and package chute. I've been to many locations where the chute is blocked or closed. In addition I can't say enough good things about my regular postal carrier Chuck and the rest of the carriers that work the route in his absence. He ensures that my deliveries are safe and hidden if left at the door. He's friendly, cheerful and very helpful when I have a bunch of outgoing packages.

I got my passport done here, and the lady who helped me made the whole process so quick and was very helpful even when I was struggling to understand things! Very nice experience and lovely interaction!

Would be nice if they had a self service kiosk, however, they do not.

UPDATE: I just had a package that was not delivered to Miami and when I called them to ask for help (it took from 6/22 to 6/24 to get there and now on 7/3 they don't know where it is) and the girl used an annoyed voice to tell me there's nothing they can do and then when I asked for a manager, she put me on perma-hold. Not professional and I'm hoping this in an isolated incident.
I've lived here for 16 years and have loved this post office. They've always been very friendly and helpful. I used to have a PO Box for my business there for several years and do go in on a regular basis for different things.

I stopped by this morning to mail out a package. I had never used Click-N-Ship before, so I asked the clerk if I had done it right and where I could find the regional rate boxes. She was very nice and went in to the back room to get me one. She was extremely helpful and didn’t make me feel dumb. I was nervous to ask for help because of all the negative reviews, but I’m glad I did.

I was so impressed with the service I received when I threw away my receipt. The Layton postmaster, Shane, went out of his way to research the situation and provided me with a solution

It's funny reading all the reviews talking about how they're "taxpayers" but don't understand that the post office is self funded and does not receive federal money. They have 7.5 million employees and they receive $0 from the federal government to run.

The staff here are real people and not just drones. Deal with it you big babies. Getting a passport was very quick and easy, they always answer dumb questions and try to not leave you hanging.

Our mailman is regular and shows up every day around the same time. I love his consistency! I don’t know his name, but he’s on the Vae View route. When we lived in South Jordan, we always had a different person delivering the mail, and they ALWAYS mixed up our mail with our neighbors, every day, without fail. It was a headache. We have had no issues with this guy. Thank you for being consistent and awesome and for the service you provide!

I have to laugh the amount of people here leaving bad reviews because they are too ignorant to know that the Post Office is the Federal Government...NOT a private sector business. Please cast those reviews aside. Most of the negative reviews have to do with the company that nailed a parcel and should be addressed with them, but like most ignorant people, basic logic is beyond their grasp, so they just complain at the end person, instead of where the actual problem occurred.

Post offices are like the DMV. No one REALLY likes going there or working there. Please people, be kind to other humans and think before you speak.

I’m not sure if I am at the right place to leave this review, but I would like to leave a review for a mailman that my family and myself have here in Layton Utah. His name is chuck and he is the best mailman we have ever had in the 18 years we have been here. He goes above and beyond. And he brings a smile to our faces!!!!

We ordered chicks through the post office, and they arrived early, we came and picked them up, everyone was very helpful, and all the chicks were healthy and happy. and answered the phone each time we called, even though it was before hours.

I’ve had some pretty bad experiences at a post office but never from this one. The staff are all really nice and have always been helpful

I have read a lot of bad reviews but my experience was good. I had to wait only 5 minutes to be served. I needed another 15 minutes to open new PO box. Employees war very nice to me

I've always had fast, friendly service at the Layton post office. They're very helpful, no matter how complicated my postage needs are.

I live in Layton, Utah and have used this post office for years. I have never had anything but great service there. Never had any problems.

The staff here did an amazing job at solving a problem I thought was unsolvable. I'm deeply grateful to them.

All staffs are always kind. I missed mailman I always be able to get my international and domestic packages that day.
