Gorgeous park!!! Well kept and lots of places to go. There is a walking trail going around the lake, beach (season based), and trails in the woods that are easy to follow.
The park is very kid friendly with different areas for different ages.
There is a $3 per person entry fee (3 and under are free) and this is in effect until the park closes at night. Dog friendly but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Waterfall was not flowing but seems like it would be quite peaceful when it is.

We camped here for a week in September 2024. This is a beautiful park that is well maintained. The staff is very friendly. The park has an awesome reservoir lake and miles of hiking trails. Park wifi was great and certainly good enough to support working remote. It is hard to believe you are within two miles of a thriving college town. We will definitely be back!

Update: We returned to LPP for about 10 days in February of 2024. The early part of our trip was rainy but that led to a bonus discovery - a beautiful waterfall. We did notice that the park wifi was not as good as it was previously. We had to fire up our travelfi in order to work, but that solved our issue.

Idyllic park with beautiful sites. Large, many lake views and mostly shaded sites. Great trails and low cost round out some highlights. Book early though especially around holidays.

This is a gem of a campground. I believe it won the best campground award last year. There is hiking, swimming, biking, and a host of other things to do. There is an excellent playground for the kiddos. It's one of the best I've ever seen.

One of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited. Well laid out, carefully managed, and quiet. Sites are spacious and feature full hookups that are properly located. Some sites on the inside of the curve are even pull throughs. Hiking and biking trails, swimming beach, restrooms.
All this for$35/night! WOW 😳

I was visiting my dad and needed to workout. We paid in cash to enter a couple of dollars. As we jogged around the lake we saw mountain biking trails of varying elevations, plus a swimming lake, RV sites & campsites. The beach looks like a lot of fun. The waterfall was a short walk from the parking lot.

First time here and it was a lovely park. We came in from out of state for a Pro mountain bike race. Very peaceful lake and the mtb trails were great.

This is a fantastic and peaceful place to make your RV home while you are in the Shreveport-Monroe, LA area. This incredibly clean park has a lovely little lake and excellent RV sites. There are both paved and unpaved walking/jogging paths/trails. If you are looking for bicycle, trials this park has trails for those who like a bit of a challenge and lower levels. The staff here was very polite and ready to help. Though there are no tents allowed on the RV sites, there are tent sites nearby. Most RV sites are newly upgraded and very level. The views of the sites around the edge of the lake beautiful. The restrooms are near the tent area. They are a bit rustic and were quite clean. They could use a good scrubbing but to bring them up to the quality of the park in general. My only regret was we were only able to stay one night due to our schedule.

I went during the light up the pines event and it was very fun. It's always clean and any staff I see is friendly and approachable. I don't feel unsafe walking around the park, even when I'm alone.

This is a beautiful park & offers an array of opportunities and beauty. The lake is extraordinarily peaceful with a multitude of fowl including, ducks, birds & egrets. There are pavilions available to rent, tent camping, etc. The RV park section with concrete slabs (with a gated area around it), is FANTABULOUS overlooking the lake. There are running/walking trails filled with foliage & magnificent trees for exploring. I didn't have time to hike, but absolutely will do when I return!
