Southern Roots Dentistry

Southern Roots dentistry exceeded my expectations! I have always been a bit fearful of the dentist and due to my old dentist not accepting Medicaid, I had to find a new dentist. From the second I walked through the doors I felt so welcomed and each employee was so kind. I loved the fact that they are a faith based dentist and had worship music playing the whole time! The assistant that assisted me, Kat, was so kind and comforting. I came to this office to get a second opinion as well where my old dentist said I needed a crown. Dr. Lowder provided me with a few options and he explained things very well and you can tell that they really care and have your best interest in mind! They were also able to get me a consultation in with an oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth removed that have been causing me a little trouble! I would recommend this dentist to anyone who is looking for the best!! I had a great experience and will continue using them!!

The staff at Southern Roots on Ashley Ridge is exceptional! I just love Dr. Moore. He is so nice and down to earth. And all the girls are so efficient and kind. I love going to the dentist here!!

I had such a amazing first experience at Southern Roots! If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I had an absolutely horrible experience with another dentist that has scared me from going to the dentist for over a decade. If you're terrified of the dentist AND want an honest dentist, this is the place. (Strap in for a long, but well deserved review!)

I had a dental emergency, was in excruciating pain, and was told by Ochnser on 2 different visits and David Raines that I would need a tooth pulled. Neither could get me in immediately and I was so scared of getting sepsis from what I was told was an infected tooth. While I was on antibiotics, I was referred to Southern Roots by someone else. THANK GOODNESS.

When I called to make my appointment, I talked to Emily and made her aware that I was absolutely terrified of dentists, have panic disorder, and agoraphobia (fear of leaving the house), so this was going to be super rough on me just to be there. To my surprise, when I arrived, they had actually noted all of that, and Emily and Laura at the front desk were very attentive to my anxiety.

I spent the most time with Brittany, the dental hygienist, who did my initial work up and x-rays. She couldn't have been more patient and amazing, especially since I was so anxious I was holding back tears the majority of the time. She was also already aware of all my anxiety stuff, and was so incredibly sweet in helping me stay calm. I don't know what she's getting paid, but someone give her a raise. I can't say enough good things about her ability to both keep me calm and simultaneously do what she needed to do.

The dentist I saw was Dr. Gillee, and she was just as stellar as everyone else. She also had a very calming demeanor, and was also already aware of my fears. She was very gentle with my oral exam, but also very thorough. Dr. Gillee was excellent at going over my x-rays and oral exam, and explaining my dental problems in language I could understand.

A lot of dentists will tell you that you need unnecessary work done, and I was BEYOND relieved that Dr. Gillee told me that I did NOT need a tooth pulled or even had any sign of infection. I was so incredibly grateful for that. Especially after being told twice by Ochnser that I needed one pulled. I do have other issues that need to be addressed, but she was honest and that literally saved me a tooth that Oschner or David Raines was more than happy to pull.

I know this is already a long review, but...I also expressed to both Brittany and Dr. Gillee how ashamed and embarrassed I felt for not having been to a dentist for so long and having so many cavities. They were both so incredibly compassionate, and reassured me that this is not the first time they've seen someone who hasn't been to the dentist in ages, and in some cases people who've never been to the dentist at all.

I'm not a well-to-do person, and it shows. I am a nervous wreck with health appointments, and it shows. This is a very upscale dentist's office that treats you like a VIP regardless of your clothes, background, or insurance. From Emily and Laura at the front desk to Brittany the dental hygienist to Dr. Gillee, I got the best absolute top notch treatment someone could have asked for.

Sorry/not sorry for the novel length review, but they deserve it! Again, if I could give them 10 stars, I would!

Fantastic dentistry. Extremely nice place. Fantastic staff. Friendly smiles, very knowledgeable, helpful with every step of the process. Best dental services my family has ever received.

I was absolutely amazed at how awesome Southern Roots Dentistry was to my son! He was so scared to get any work done and they made him feel at ease right away! The dentists and staff are a joy to work with!

I just relocated to the Shreveport area and had no point of reference for a new dentist. I made the decision to try Southern Roots Dentistry because I saw their billboard and it appealed to me aesthetically. I knew myself and my daughter needed a significant amount of care because we both hadn't seen a dentist since Covid hit. We have fallen in LOVE with Southern Roots. I see Dr. Gilley and my daughter sees Dr. Lowder. They are both wonderful and their entire staff is truly top notch. Another huge plus is the fact that my daughter has special needs and I advised them of this before her visit and they have treated her with the utmost care and consideration. She actually looks forward to seeing Dr. Lowder and the Ladies on staff. Needless to say, we couldn't be more pleased.

Shelby is excellent at what she does and always makes me feel welcomed! Dr. Gilley always has a smile on her face & asks me about my baby boy every time I come in! What a wonderful team at this Southren Roots. Highly recommend!

Southern Roots Dentistry is a wonderful place for all your dental needs. The atmosphere is very friendly and upbeat. When I walk in I am greeted by the office receptionist who checks me in swiftly. It is not long before I am brought to the back for a cleaning. They try to keep you with the same dental assistant so they can get to know the patient and the patient can get to know them as well. Which I think is a great idea! Emily is awesome! Her caring spirit and hospitality is always the very best.

The facility is beautiful and everyone on the staff is fabulous! Dr. Lowder is knowledgeable and friendly. I really enjoyed my experience. Going to dentist is my favorite.

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!! I really cannot put into words the impact they had on me mentally and emotionally. The way I feel now vs when I initially walked into their office.... like night and day! I feel like they sincerely care and want to help in every way possible.

First off, i havent been to dentist in a while. Right off the bat i felt welcomed and not nervous. They explained everything that was needed with the presumed costs that i should pay. I would definitely recommend them to anyone

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the dentist provided personalized recommendations for my oral health, such as specific tips for brushing and flossing. Additionally, the office environment was clean and comfortable, making the visit much more pleasant. I highly recommend this place.
