Sonesta ES Suites Baton Rouge University at Southgate

This was my first experience staying at a Sonesta and it was absolutely wonderful! I was in town visiting LSU as a potential graduate student and the location was perfect. The room was clean, the hotel was quiet, and the staff was phenomenal! A special thanks to Peter who was so very kind and went the extra mile by recommending places to eat and even calling them to see if they had what I was looking for. My stay here was truly wonderful. Thank you.

Great hotel for some localized food spots. Everything is about 10 minutes from the hotel.

We just stayed here for the 2nd time! We come into town often and I refuse to book anywhere else in BR! Always friendly, rooms are spacious and clean, and you can even overlook the golf course if you’re lucky! They upgraded us to a king suite for this quick impromptu stay and it was immaculate.

We had the opportunity to stay there due to unresolved issues were undergoing in our apartment. We were really exhausted, but staying there somehow provided us the energy to move on. The suite was clean, we had a very good window view of LSU campus. The complimentary breakfast was also tasty, we chose the vegetarian option.

We were coming to Baton Rouge for our dog to have surgery at the vet school, they recommended the Sonesta ES Suites.
Right off booking the reservation I was impressed, the woman was so friendly and helpful. Upon arrival they let us check in early, we had an awesome room, every staff member we came in contact with was so nice and definitely went above to make our stay a pleasant and comfortable experience.
We are from Oklahoma, my husband is military so we travel quite a bit. I can say honestly all the people in Baton Rouge that we met were some of the nicest we have been around.

We had a 2 bedroom suite. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was friendly. I will definitely stay here again. Conveniently located near LSU Baton Rouge.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The front desk staff was very courteous. The room was spacious and impeccably clean. The breakfast bar was unmatched. Overall impression- on a scale of 1-5, this hotel gets a 10.

We had a long day that was not fun, ending in needing a tow truck. The woman up front was incredibly nice. They even upgraded our room😭The hotel room was spotless and comfortable. Great price. The air is central, not just in one spot under the window. Couldn’t have asked for a better ending to a rough day!

I had a nice, quiet week-long stay here. It was after football season so it wasn't annoyingly busy, but I can imagine during football season it would be packed as it is only a couple of minutes from LSU and the stadium. The bed was very comfortable and my sleep was never disturbed. The kitchen is the size of most in-room kitchens. The room was spacious with many sitting areas and multiple conveniently placed electrical outlets. The thermostat can be set to auto so that the fan only turns on when the heat/air runs, or on so that the fan constantly runs; it made it easier to sleep. The large space and separated bedroom are conducive to getting work done. There's a fitness center, a business center, and complimentary breakfast every morning including fresh-cut fruit. They're also pet-friendly. There are 2 elevators and they move quickly so you're not stuck waiting after you call it or spending minutes in the elevator.

The location was very convenient for me since I was attending orientation at LSU. The room was very clean, and I loved that it had a kitchen with its own pots and dishes. I didn't get to try the breakfast, but a coworker said it was good. I was only there for one night, but the staff I met were nice and helpful, especially about late checkout.

Very clean facilities and suite was very clean and comfortable. Peter the operations Manager was very friendly and helpful. Jonathan the bartender at the social was also very friendly and provided excellent service. My husband stays at multiple staybridge hotels as he travels for work and says this has been one of the best he has stayed at so far. They also have the added benefit of having the Bullfish bar and kitchen restaurant on site. Also outstanding service and excellent Caribbean food!

We were there working and did not finish in one day as expected. My boss called someone he knew to find a good place to stay. His friend suggested the Staybridge. They are pet friendly, and the suites were very ,nice. I will recommend them to anyone traveling to or through the Baton Rouge area.

Check in was easy and fast. Location is great, right next LSU campus. Continental breakfast was the usual you see at every hotel that offers. Rooms were great for a small family. Service was great, no problems.

We spent three nights here while attending the 2015 Louisiana Marathon. The staff was extremely friendly, the beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. There were restaurants within walking distance and LSU was very close by. Better than expected. If we return to Baton Rouge, we will definitely stay here again.

This is my go to place to stay when I'm in Baton Rouge. I really like this hotel. The staff, location, and rooms are wonderful. They also have a social three nights of the week where they have a small dinner along with beer and wine. It's really great.

I first must highlight Mrs. Darlene. She makes the best grits that I have EVER had away from home. I seriously couldn't wait to get up the next morning to get more.

The staff is absolutely fabulous; helpful in every way! This hotel has a wonderful social hour 3 days a week (Mon-Wed) that has various food selections, as well as, free wine and beer.

Also, Mrs. Willie Mae in housekeeping was awesome! She was so kind and my room was cleaned to perfection.

The employees here are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are more than willing to help and really want your stay to be as comfortable as possible. Rooms are cozy and spacious with a sofa bed. Free diverse fresh hot breakfast with great juice selections. It is a great choice for the home away from home experience. The only drawback is it doesnt have an oven in the rooms. But it does have a cooktop complete with needed amenities. Lightening fast elevator, which I loved, no long delays waiting for the elevator to arrive.

It has a great location, walking distance to nearby restaurants and moments away from LSUs campus. Would definitely stay here again!

I only stayed one night but I defenitely enjoyed the stay. I had the double room suite with 2 double beds and a seperate living area with a sofabed that was very accomodating for 3 people. Plus a full kitchen if you are having an extended stay. Ill certainly keep this hotel in mind whenever I stay in Baton Rouge again. Its also practically on the LSU campus if youre visiting the campus.

Nice, clean spacious room. Great location to LSU. Will stay again. The 2BR/2BA suite was perfect for traveling with kids.

Exceptional service, friendly front desk staff, house cleaning and food service staff. Morning breakfast and social snack. People with pets had nice area to walk. Cold room on 100 degree days.

One of top hotels for me.
