Kingsford Elementary School

I go there and I love it it has good teachers and staff and it's like u r at home just in a very protective home were everyone would like u if u like them.

It's a wonderful school. I went from Kindergarten threw 6th grade. And now I'm in High School. Feels good to look back at all the memories of Elementary School

I went here from 2nd to 6th and had the time of my life graduating! I loved it! And I miss it. :) But then I went to Ernest MS :/

Good school

i loved going to kingsford i was there from 1st-6th grade. i think its was great school, all of my teachers cared if i did a good job and they made me want to do better in school and in life. i'm in high school now and i still remember what my 5th and 6th grade teachers told me. it was a great school when i went there but now its changed. so many clubs and activities are gone and even the livelihood are gone from the school. i feel like its the new generation of teachers and students that has changed the school for the worse. my brothers go to that school and they tell me that every year or two a teacher moves to a new school, making it hard for teachers to really get to know their students and make a in pack in the students life. i feel that the parents now run the school. so many high in life parents kid goes to the school that the principal is to scared to make the wrong move.

I go there its... average! Sometimes the lunch ladies can be mean if you are picky about it. The band club is awesome. Ms. McNair is a very nice and encouraging teacher and i highly recommend the clarinet the violin- that I play-, the sax, viola( the bigger violin) and the trumpet. The teachers are nice to you. SHOUT OUT TO MR. HOPKINS, MS. CARTER, MRS. HARRIS, MRS. CRAWFORD, MRS. TRANSOU, AND MR. FLORES!

If you have a child with special needs that entitles him to have a dedicated aide(DA), start bugging the PGCPS Special Education Dept. at the end of the previous school year to provide him a DA when the new school year starts. Calling the HR is the principal's job. But don't rely on her to do this because you would just be disappointed. I had to call PGCPS myself to follow-up. Had I not called, the DA wouldn't have arrived today. Certainly, what the intimidating principal doesn't want to hear that there are a number of people who knew what she did (or let's say, did not do) and to see a letter of complaint. My respect for higher ranking staff is gone down the drain. Teachers are great, though.

School leadership is surely in question. It seems that Parents run and direct this school not the teachers or Principal. When year after year your children in this county fail to learn and achieve on the scale with other counties in MD then looking at Kingsford, results have shown that the school allows the parents to dictate the direction of there child's education. WOW Kingsford and PG when are you going to start to care about your children. That leadership direction is a failure! We know who teaches the children in Mont County, Calvert County and Howard County, what about PG county leaders, Principals that allow the parents to run school are Principals that lack the concern for the education of there community!!
