Salon 101 of Cape Carteret

Went in for my first time at this salon today and received an excellent hair cut by Ashley N. Had a great experience! I made an appt over the phone, they were ready for me when I got there, and were very kind to me from beginning to end. I would definitely return and recommend this salon and Ashley to anyone in the area wanting a top tier hair cut and an easy, hassle free experience.

Today was my first time visiting Salon 101 of Cape Carteret and I had Stefanie as a stylist, she did amazing! I absolutely love what she did with my hair and my eyebrows! The whole entire atmosphere was wonderful and welcoming!! I plan on bring my daughter to Stefanie in the future to do her hair also!

Ashley is a master stylist!! She is amazing!! Can literally read my mind as to what I want when I do a brief description.... She is so talented and professional. I won't let anybody else touch my hair. Make sure you book with her!!!

I have been going here for about 8 years. Robin always does a great job with my hair, and has given me tips for my thinning hair. Cindy is also wonderful as she has done my hair for a wedding, and a photoshoot. Good stylists, with good hearts. They are like family to me.

I started using Salon 101 two year’s ago. What a wonderful group of stylists and a beautiful salon! I am still seeing Michelle and walk out of there happy and content. Prices are excellent!

That atmosphere is warm and very welcoming . I really appreciate that Cindy always listens to my ideas and will let me know if what I have in mind will look good on me or not. My hair always looks amazing when I leave, I can't recommend this salon enough!

I cannot recommend this salon highly enough. I had dreadlocks for 4 1/2 years, and finally I hit a point in my life wherein I was ready to make a change. I expected letting go of my locs would likely require that I shave my head; at most, I hoped that perhaps half an inch or so of hair could be saved.
My stylist Rosa, and Stephanie, who assisted extensively, blew my expectations out of the water. These two incredible women spent nearly 2 hours working on my hair. Rather than taking the easier route and cutting off the locs entirely, they cut them off a few inches from my scalp and then worked with painstaking care to detangle and brush out the remainder of the locs. I cannot emphasize enough how much time these two spent carefully brushing out those dreadlock roots. They were cheerful, kind, and incredibly gentle as they worked. Once the locs were finally all out, Rosa washed and conditioned my hair, and then gave me a hair cut that alone would have earned them a 5 star review, nevermind all of the work they put in just to give me back hair to work with! Two hours later I walked out of the salon with the cutest, sassiest pixie cut in town. And the total bill for TWO HOURS of a hair cut? $45. That’s it folks. I’ve lived all over the country and visited plenty of hair salons, so take it from me- I could have easily paid $150 for my gorgeous cut at a different salon WITHOUT the added time and effort of removing dreadlocks. I will most certainly be returning for my next cut as I grow my hair back out. Huge thank you to Rosa and Stephanie!!!
Oh also- they have coffee and cookies in the waiting room. Like really, talk about a nice place!!

I cannot say enough about Salon 101. I am from Raleigh and drive to the beach to get my hair done! We used the crew for my daughter's wedding and they were AMAZING! Jennifer came in on a Sunday to do the bride's hair for her portraits even!

The day before we all had hair done for the rehearsal and they just made it fun and took the stress out of getting ready that day. The wedding day was just as amazing. The Salon 101 staff descended on us fully armed for any hair or makeup emergency. I had pre-paid months in advance and what they did was beyond customer service. Tina took my super curly and frizzy hair and turned into a pile of beautiful curls on what had to be one of the most humid days of the year. Jennifer did the bride's hair again and it was the most beautiful up-do that stayed put completely the whole day and night ! Not a hair out of place when the couple left the festivities after hours of dancing and being outside in the humidity!! Now Tina does my cut/color every 6 weeks. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

This salon is the total beauty experience! The staff are all very good stylists! They are sooo friendly and fun! the salon itself is very clean and has a cute and relaxing vibe. I have been a client for 5+ years and would not go any where else. The staff maintains their edge by attending several education seminars so they are always up on the latest trends in hair.The shampoo room is such a relaxing experience ( think spa). This area is very lucky to have this caliber of salon here!

First time at Salon 101 and it was amazing! Amanda did an outstanding job on my color and cut. They make your visit so enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone!

I was a walk in and was treated like a queen. Tanya was meticulous with my hair cut and spent all the time needed to make my mop of a head adorable with a cute and hip short hair cut. It was a lot of work and she was great! Thank you to the entire staff. I wish I lived closer to be a regular!

I love Salon 101-The owner, Cathy, has taken care of my for several years. I want to share with everyone how friendly and compassionate Cathy has been. Not only is she a wonderful hairdresser, but her heart is full of care and love. The salon is clean, bright and beautiful as well. How can you go wrong????
