Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area

Great walk that ends at an inlet of the salt marsh. If you're a bird watcher, you'll love this.

Great little trail (1.3 miles) out and access at the back of the Pine Knoll NC Aquarium parking lot. During the fall and winter great opportunity to see marsh land fowl, if you are patient. Nice benches along the trail to sit and observe. It also has great views of Bogue Sound.

Easy trail, takes about an hour down and back. The trail head is at the end of the aquarium parking lot.

What an awesome hike with an extra jungly feel. The aquarium was sold out of tickets today but this didn’t stop us from getting our outdoor adventure on. It was free and took about an hour of our time.

Enjoyed the two hikes that are available. One was free the other had to pay for admission to the aquariumbin order to access the boardwalk and trail behind the aquarium. Both were easier hikes through woods with the marsh or coast near the trail.

A quick, easy but truly beautiful trail that packs a lot of punch. My sister and I in the first week of July and while we did get eaten alive by mosquitoes and the humidity and the occasional Mayfly, it was totally worth it once we arrived at a little private beach with a rich and calming view of Bogue Sound. I'm 30 now but I walked this same trail when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I hope it stays around another 100 years or more. Thank you N.C. Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores. I miss you already...

Went in Oct and still needed bug spray but only bit when standing still taking pictures. Nice little hike

The aquarium is amazing! We try to come here everytime we are in town. It a great place to explore and spend quality time with the kids.

Perfect place at the beach.

Bring insect repellent. Well maintained trail along the sound and inland marsh. Gate closes at 5:30 so pay attention to the time.

Amazing trail, the view is spectacular and there's not many people on the trail usually, being as how it's such a long trek for most people

It was great we really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back. My granddaughter with autism really enjoyed the big fish !!

Definitely worth a visit. Check out the aquarium. It is a really good one.

This place really is very cool. But its hot so bring water.
