The Bookshop

Always a must stop when we are visiting Atlantic Beach & Morehead City. It is not a large store, but they utilize the space well with a good selection of new books for adults and children, puzzles and a wealth of used books & paperbacks. The staff is tremendously helpful if you need to locate specific titles, if they have them. The location is in a small shopping center next to the ABC store, which I understand also had a good selection & to the Food Lion, so parking is plentiful & handicapped accessible

Walked out with 10 new-to-me books. They are super friendly and always have a great selection of new and used books. Very clean and well organized!

The Bookshop is wonderful! New books are 10% off. Used books are 50% off the MSRP. Sections are clearly labeled and used books are in excellent condition. The bargain bookroom is mostly romance novels, but prices are a steal. They have holiday books on sale for very cheap. A cute children's section in the back of the new books section. The staff is friendly but gives you space to browse uninterrupted. A great little gem!

This is our favorite NC bookstore. Good selections, reasonable prices, and friendly,
helpful staff. No trip to the beach is complete for us until we’ve visited the Bookshop.

I found used new condition study aids n for so great of price n they can order things for you friendly staff n peaceful if u want to read a bit before u buy I loved it my whole family is hooked on it all ages it is a must experience

I was amazed at the selection of puzzles there. They give a fair price for used books, movies and puzzles.

This place is incredible, I hope it stays here forever. The people here are clearly passionate about the shop, the book selection and prices are fantastic. They have a used and new section. Its so refreshing, my mother in law from Connecticut has to come here every time she is in town. It is so refreshing to have a local book store like this.

What a charming store with lovely staff. I ran in on a whim to search for a coloring book and was so impressed with the selection of new and used books. So the following day, I brought the kids in for a very satisfying hour. Each kid was able to get a stack of reads and the staff were so kind about searching inventory for specific books. There's a display of NC reads in both new and used sections for those specifically wanting souvenirs. Absolutely worth visiting and including on your beach itinerary.

I just stopped by today and was really impressed with the wide selection of both new and used books. Prices for new books appear to be comparable or better than Amazon, and the benefit of supporting a local brick and mortar bookstore was just a fringe benefit. I don’t have little kids but the children’s section was amazing and would be good for those shopping for children’s gifts. My favorite part was the selection of books on North Carolina and the local area. I will definitely be back.

This is a great little find. It has both new and used books. The new books are well selected. There is a wide variety of used books. The mystery section is mostly best-selling authors. (Many, many James Patterson books.)
The nicest feature of the store is the friendly, helpful people who own it.
Every visit we make to Emerald Isle includes a side trip to Morehead City to visit The Bookshop.

We love this store and make a point to stop by every time we are in the area. Wonderful staff, very helpful! Large selection of new and used books to find your perfect beach read.

This is one of my favorite little book stores in town. The staff are so welcoming + friendly! There's plenty of books to browse through and a kids section. If you can't find what book you're looking for, they're always more than happy to order it for you and call you when it's arrived 😊

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about authors and genres. They offer a "trade-in" on used books and give you credit towards the purchase of other used books. If you are looking for a new book and it is not in stock, often they can order it and will be available in 2 to 3 days.

If you are looking for any kind of entertainment such as a DVD, vinyl record or a great book to read, you will find it here! The store is full of 1/2 used and 1/2 new items. There is so much merchandise to pick from so plan to stay awhile. The store staff is very pleasant and helpful. You may also bring in your used books to trade in for store credit. Great place to spend some time on a leisurely Saturday!

One of my favorite bookstores, and favorite places. Was stationed near by and became a regular for their wide and affordable selection that constantly changed. Friendly staff with lots to offer always made me happy to return and sorry to leave. A bookshop that embraces it's love of reading!
