Excellent beach location, nice bathrooms, a water hose to wash off your feet, and good parking. I love walking on the beach when we visit Beaufort area, And we always come to this location. Plus it's right by the crab claw which is a wonderful restaurant overlooking the ocean. There is also a covered picnic area where my husband sits while I walk on the beach.

This is a pretty popular beach access that is full of people spending the day on the beach with their family or friends, playing beach ball, tanning, swimming, and strolling down the beach! Beautiful area with a couple if places to eat and a few stores right there on the beach for convenience. Parking is not free so be prepared for that. There are bathroom buildings available with showers to wash off the sand before heading out to the car. Great place and I have been going to the beach here since I was a kid! I do miss the old circle though...they had go carts years ago and a few other things such as bumper boats and that was tons of fun and a good hangout for kids and teenagers. They tore all that down years ago and to me, it hasn't been the same since. I never understood why they did that because the condos that were supposed to be built there still have not been built there to this day. Definitely try this beach access out!

Busy clean beach with several volleyball courts and on duty lifeguards. Dogs appear to be allowed as I saw several being walked in the sand. Waves were small to medium sized. A few bars and restaurants can be found within walking distance of the beach. Parking was 3 dollars an hour metered (you can buy 1 hour and add more time through text which was great). Some full day lots were priced at $20. Parking was fairly full on the abundant metered spots, but still not impossible to find a spot. Public restrooms and several areas to shower sand off were available.

The water was still cold when we went. But the sand was nice and the water was clear. We even saw some Dolphins swim pretty close to shore

Went for sunrise with my fur baby, we were the only ones on the beach that early besides the rangers in their trucks. Parking is free during the off season. Absolutely gorgeous.

A nice beach access with plenty of parking. I am not sure what the parking rates are “in season”, but it’s free in the off season. You will find a small bathroom area, a boardwalk, and a few restaurants here as well.

$4.00/hour to park... that gets you a restroom, boardwalk to the beach with sand showers, a gazebo, life guard and the police come by often... so it's not a bad deal... I also see volleyball courts on the beach, not sure who's they are the park or the restaurant....

Outside showers are definitely a plus. I didn't use the restrooms. When I walked past the building, the stench of urine was present. Sadly it was the same when I visited a couple of weeks ago.

My first visit to the beach in this area was for the annual bonfire! There was live music and a great bonfire to enjoy. I plan to visit again in the future. We arrived a little later than planned, but the picture is from just before the fire department started the process to put the fire out.

When we visit Atlantic Beach we typically park here to access the beach since it is the first parking are right as you come over to the island. We always seem to find a spot and the parking meter system takes credit cards and will send you a text message when your time is about to expire. They have some volleyball nets, lifeguards and bathrooms but no other amenities. The stretch of beach here is nice which is the main draw anyways. The high rating is mainly due to the ease of access especially if you are not directly staying on the island and are visiting just for the day. Our last visit was the week of July the 4th and this section had many people but didn’t feel overcrowded.

This is a very special place. Please no more construction. Keep it open for us poor hardworking people that cannot afford a condo on the beach. Damn you politicians and developers

My favorite spot to go cause has shower/water area and bathroom. Better get there before 10 if you want parking and make sure you pay at the meter during season or you'll get a $60 ticket.

Beautiful!!! Went for the International festival and it was very nice. Lots of food trucks and great environment. Very kid friendly. There were security guards and lifeguards on the beach.
