Valley River Brewery

Amazing pizza, great hospitality and service. On a weekend vacation we ate here twice. Beers did not disappoint either. If you're passing through, or making a trip to Murphy, be sure to stop in and grab a pizza.

Fantastic place to eat!!! The gluten free fish and chips was very tasty. My husband got the Philly cheese steak sandwich was excellent. Nick was a great server and very pleasant and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend!!

Finally tried the pizza today! It was amazing! So was the Murphy Irish Stout!

We wound up at Valley River Brewery, if not by accident, then not entirely on purpose. During our "beat the heat" get away in the North Georgia mountains we headed up to Hayesville, NC to check out the two craft breweries there but I neglected to check on their hours. One wasn't open at all that day and the other didn't open until 4 PM. As there isn't that much to do right in Hayesville and it was lunchtime, we headed west along US Highway 64 to Murphy where I had already checked that Valley River Brewery was open and, better yet, they also served food. Murphy is actually quite a bit bigger than Hayesville and has a beautiful, quaint, old southern town look and feel to the downtown area and Valley River sits right at one end of it. Per usual, we sat at the bar and had a delightful running conversation with the bartender regarding both the beers and the food. While they specialize in wood fired pizza, we were not in a pizza mood and we both wound up ordering a cup of (different) soup and sharing the soft pretzel and beer cheese. I will observe the beer cheese was as tasty as I've had most anywhere, and we order this a lot. I also particularly liked their Amber Light Red Ale, and the Hiawassee Golden Pale Ale was also a worthy beer, especially on a warm summer day. If you're in Murphy looking to grab a bit and a craft beer, don't neglect this place.

Love this place!! I almost ordered extra cheese on my pizza, but I'm glad I didn't. It would have been too much!

We had an early dinner here for the first time since living here in Murphy for over four years. And wow - I can’t believe it took us so long to try this amazing place out! We started with an appetizer of Fried Avocados, which was one of the specials of the day. Those were EPIC! Then we shared a burger with onion rings and an order of their Shrimp and Chips (hand-cut fries). And when I say that everything was cooked to perfection and beyond delicious, that’s an understatement! We had such a delightful experience - between the food, our sweet, kind, attentive and accommodating waiter Nick - simply wonderful. The atmosphere was really fun too - super laid back and also decorated really great. Plenty of seating, from regular tables to a bar and high top tables as well. Just an all around fabulous place to eat. Oh and the prices were very reasonable as well! Love, love, love Valley River Brewery! We’ll be regulars from here on out! Highly recommend!

Possibly the best French fries I have tastes in the US. Nice beer also. Friendly staff and great service. Overall well worth a visit.

Don’t leave many reviews but this place deserves it. Some of the best pizza I have had anywhere. The wood fire brick oven is fantastic. Their beer and other food is also great. Greek salad and mushrooms rock. Highly recommend this spot.

Awesome food and great service. I had the burger with fries ($2 extra) and a side of Tzatziki. Burger was thick, juicy, well-seasoned, and well cooked. Tzatziki was worth the $1 to go with the fries. My wife had a 10" pepperoni pizza. Lots of pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. Pizza sauce is thick, rich and hearty.

We went on a family trip to Lake Hiwasee and drove to Murphy for dinner. We were disappointed that they weren't open on Wednesday, but found another restaurant. We came back on Friday. I am writing as we still sit here. We got the pretzel... the beer cheese was outstanding. We ordered the cheese bread... there was alot of it!! Delicious. The pizzas were outstanding! We ordered too much food, but are definitely taking it home!! Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

This place is a gem. The staff has always been great, the pizza is top notch and it has a cool vibe. Their beer is great and they always have a good variety to try.

Good food and friendly service. I had a pizza and an IPA. Both were great and I’ll definitely be back.
One thing - their chairs are extremely uncomfortable so be prepared!

Absolutely delicious pizza! Tons of craft beer on tap, and they were all delicious! Ashley was super nice and very helpful on giving insight on local attractions.

Wow, stumbled on this place & loved it. Great service, recommendations, food, beer, & ambiance. Brick oven pizza was best I'd had in a long time. Definitely will be back!

The pizza was great, as was the cider and guess pumpkin beer. We enjoyed sampling their beers with the flight, and the Greek salad with gyro meat was really good too. The prices were fair ($6 for a flight of 4 samples, $5.50 for pint of cider) and the waitress was friendly and helpful.

Just enjoyed the gluten free seafood platter- delicious and reasonably priced. Had good quick service and the place is nice and clean and low key pleasant atmosphere.

Dinning in North Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, West North Carolina is always a roll of the dice. Today Lucky 7. The cafe was Awesome. From the outside you have a "Do I Need A See one Opinion". Forget that this is the place to be for eats in Murphy. Food was to order, plentiful and delicious. Beer was a great selection, right price and cold. Staff attentive and freidrly and out of their way helpful. Yes it is difficult to decide where to go eat and relax. Look no further, get on in here.

The atmosphere and there is great the young lady behind the bar name is Sarah is great I asked for a pizza and I left it up to the chef to put whatever you want in on it. He did a white sauce chicken bacon and red onions and spinach and it was on point out of 10 Stars I would give it 11. This is definitely my new pizza of choice

We stopped here a few years ago and have been making special trips back once in a while. the pizza is fantastic, like homemade with a perfect crust. they always have some interesting desserts that change from visit to visit. my husband likes to try the different beers on tap. staff is very friendly and if not busy they are happy to talk a bit. In downtown Murphy so the location is good.
