Rio Mexican Food Restaurant is a hidden gem for lovers of authentic Mexican cuisine, and their ACP is an absolute delight for the taste buds. The dish is bursting with flavor, featuring tender chicken, perfectly seasoned rice, and a mouthwatering blend of spices that leave you craving more with each bite. The friendly staff make the dining experience even more enjoyable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience here at Rio. The ACP was delicious and the prices can't be beat! I also enjoyed the condiment cart where you can grab complimentary toppings such as lettuce, sour cream, and jalapenos, as well as cheese dip anytime throughout your meal! The service was outstanding and the restaurant was very clean! We will definitely be back!

The best Mexican food in Thomasville with the best service! Please keep in mind that you will need to add approximately $4.00 to every item on the menus that are posted on Google. I was somewhat surprised when I paid so it can get expensive if you're looking at the menus online.

Street tacos served amazingly quick. Dining room is deceptively large with ample room along the left side. Sparce decoration on the walls with friendly wait staff.

SO GOOD! We always come here on our way out of town from Charlotte up to the Northeast. Don’t stop for fast food, stop here. It’s a hidden gem with fast, amazing service and delicious food! Great tacos, fajitas and my favorite salsa. Always time our trips so we can grab lunch or dinner here!

This place is amazing! I rarely give reviews, but this place is so good I had too. My boyfriend and I can eat here for under $20. They have specials, that are amazing, we both get the $5.99 burrito and then we get to load up on the bar. Everything is always extremely good, and we always have leftovers for lunch the next day. The service is always amazing as well, the waitresses keep our drinks full without hovering. I haven't had a single bad experience with the service here. I definitely recommend it!

I'm updating my original review with new info.

This place has some of the freshest, most house made Mexican food in the area. The house made salsa is delicious (ask for the hotter options if you like it spicy!). My baby actually tries to eat it with a spoon!

Everything we've tried here is fast, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.

Always great food and service. Our server even advised our son on the heat level of the green and red salsa. We love the service we get here. The food is always yummy and fresh.

Started coming here when we moved to the area in October 2021. Haven’t been to another Mexican restaurant since. We love the food here. Prices are reasonable and service has always been great. Wonderful staff.

This is by FAR our favorite Mexican restaurant in Thomasville (and surrounding areas).
The carnitas is fresh, juicy and flavorful, everything else we've tried has also been great.
Service is always top notch.

First time visit tonight. Quickly set up for our group of 9. We were nearer the end of the night, but they served us with great kindness. The drinks were always filled (they also have that amazing little crumbly ice!)... attentive, but not overly so. Food was good. We had everything from the Texas Fajitas to the Chicken and Pineapple... which I've never seen on a Mexican menu before. The street tacos were thoroughly enjoyed! They have a nice assortment of filling choices. And tortas. I've never heard of tortas before. Reported to be very good! The large guacamole salad was really yummy! Comfortable atmosphere. Staff was really great. Friendly. We'll take the drive back down the 109 to visit this out of the way restaurant again, for sure!

Good food, fair pricing, clean building and sweet staff. Love the toppings bar! To go orders are always correct also. We eat or order from here once a week now and have not been disappointed.

I left a previous one-star review on my first visit to this new restaurant due to extremely slow, to the point I had to walk out without eating my lunch. I decided to try again today so my wife and I popped in for lunch. The service was much improved and now that I've actually got to taste the food, I'm very impressed. I ordered the two taco special with grilled zucchini and my wife got a deep fried chimichanga with shredded chicken and a side of rice. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portion sizes were huge. I love the toppings barwhere I can add my own cheese, sour cream, lettuce, etc. The only thing missing was sliced radishes. I also found out the hard way that the red sauce on the toppings bar isn't salsa but a pretty potent hot sauce instead. Good thing I like spicy foods! Although the owner reply to my initial review, I wasn't looking for a free meal so I didn't bring up my previous visit while in the restaurant.

Small little restaurant. I was the only one there. The salsa was very good. I ordered the 2 chimis with rice and beans. I loved the rice and had to order more to take home. The horchata had a different taste to it but the more I drank the better it got. Staff was friendly.
