Skipper's Seafood Restaurant

I was told years ago by a good family friend of my father's that this place was good and one of his favorites for good seafood. Ventured out here the other night when one of my visiting relatives expressed interest in some ocean fare.

It was a Sunday on a holiday evening and the place was jammed but they had a table available. I went with Skippers Special of the house which is flounder, shrimp, oysters and deviled crab. I almost didn't order it because everyone I get deviled crab I'm disappointed....they taste old...or frozen or even a tad slimy. This version was absolutely perfect. The oysters were big and plump and awesome. Shrimp were good as was the flounder. Slaw portion was not large but good. My sweet potato was watery. My relative that got the exact same thing as me said his sweet potato was perfect. My sister got the senior combo (open to all ages????,) She went with oysters + GOLDEN catfish which was (according to our great server) was boneless and skinless and a little milder than the regular catfish. Hush puppies were decent. Desserts according to board were homemade but we were all to stuffed to imbibe. My dad's friend was right. This place is top notch.

After competing in a race at a nearby track we were trying to find a place to eat dinner that could accommodate our group as well as our race car hauler. Skippers has an enormous parking area and the staff were not at all intimidated by our large group. There was 11 of us and they walked us right in and to a table. The service was very attentive and friendly. Now for the food...we had onion rings, mozzarella sticks and hush puppies to start. All were very good and I have to say the hush puppies were some of the best anywhere. Moist and sweet and literally never-ending. When our entrees came out we were all blown away by the amount of food on each plate. Any one of them could have easily fed two people, and the food was fantastic. Being from a coastal city in VA I was impressed both by the quality as well as the quantity of food. Felt like a meal at grandma's house on the weekends from childhood. When we come back to race and other teams ask where's the best place to eat I will recommend Skippers!!!

Skippers really deserves about a 4.6.. The seafood is really top notch, For family style seafood.

The floynder was fantastic. The catfish was fantastic. The oysters were fantastic. I have been coming here for many many years including before the fire.

When only seafood will do. Go to Skippers. It seems like they only improve with time. I can't remember a bad experience here. It's not a gourmet type restaurant. It's a family style restaurant. So it's going to have lots of customers and families. That might be the only problem that you experience is what going on at the tables around you, which may be full of families including children.

I preach that a church in Asheboro. And we really wanted something nice so we went to Skippers. I had love to get a shrimp cocktail and salad. So my wife and I's meal was a little pricey.
Including the tip we spin about sixty five dollars for the both of us.

But we weren't something nice and really enjoyed it and had food to take home.

Wow! Great customer service as well as food. We visited tonight so i had to leave a 5 star review. Awesome location, parking, and restaurant.
We ordered couple different items. They served us with hush puppies before our order was ready which I regretted eating lol because i was stuffed when my food arrived so be mindful of that.
The food was very mild in taste for me. I would take some spice sauces with me next time😆
The server was so nice and generous. She came to out table like 5 times asking if we need anything. 👌

I would drive to this skippers instead of the one in highpoint without a doubt.

We placed our order as soon as we got there, it wasn't long after our food came out. Best servers and staff and service is on point. Food is always good. Salt & pepper is the best

The food was so amazing and my baby loved her scallops they do a phenomenal job there and the wait staff is very kind and do a very good job we would definitely go back over and over again! Had a Really Great Steak last night😋

Not many seafood options in Thomasville. But it's still one of the best. Very family friendly and the portions are plentiful. Plenty of tables and seating to bring friends. Everything was cooked perfectly and very delicious. They do also have Alfredo pasta besides the fried or broiled platters. Will definitely be going back soon!

We had a great time and enjoyed our dinner, other than being stared down by the table directly behind us. The food and the waitress were amazing.

These guys do a really good job. Went there last night for the first time, food was fast, hot and delicious, big menu, lots of options. The decore in there was beautiful. It's the perfect small town seafood restaurant.

Haven't been here in years since I was alot younger but decided to give them a try. They fry shrimp how shrimp should be fried and there catfish was really good.

The food was outstanding. I couldn't get enough. I'm looking for to when I go there again.

Very good food. It was hot when we got it. The waitress was very nice and made sure that we had refills of our drinks.

My family and I showed up there at 8:00 to eat while they were preparing to close, but they welcome to spend with open arms. That was our first visit ever and I have found me a new restaurant and I'm going to try the rest of the menu but they have the best flounder that I have had in years. I highly recommend you Go and eat there!!

We really enjoyed our experience here. The food was hot and fresh, the waitress was attentive, and the dining area was clean. The complimentary hush puppies delicious! We will definitely be back.

I have been a part of this Restaurant for the last 17 years. Everything from customer to employee. How it's not the #1 Seafood Restaurant still confuses me. The owner takes pride in buying REAL QUALITY items which does reflect in the price, however you always want quality over quantity...especially when it comes to something as delicate as fresh seafood. The waitresses are all very friendly lovely ladies who take pride in satisfying the customers so they want to come back again. The kitchen staff is all very skilled at what they do and is really an art form when meals are cooked to order.
If your ever in the area this place is must try - "one of a kind". You won't regret your visit, I'd bet on it.

Got the Shrimp alfredo Sunday for Lunch and it was so good an Fresh it's made to Order the sauce was delicious it was made just right it wasn't to heavy. It was light

My husband, Son, granddaughter and I went here for supper. The food was awesome, and very good service!!

Skippers has the best fried Flounder and deviled crab and no one has tartar sauce that compares to theirs.

Lynn is the greatest. We love to eat down there. We recently had my mom's and dad's 50th wedding anniversary down here and it went great.

If you are like us and have never been to Skippers Seafood take the time to go. It was not greasy like a lot of seafood restaurants are. Waitstaff were so nice. Very clean and organized. Easy in and out. Give them a try
