Idle Hour Biergarten

After a long day of fishing, I decided on Idle Hour Biergarten after reviewing several restaurants in the area.
My bartender was so genuinely friendly , down-to-earth with a positive attitude!
Idle had a cool decor and seating inside and nice outside patio seating.
The owners actually showed to have dinner & drinks. Bartender told me there come in often when they are in town. I had the ‘BAJA Chicken Tacos’ and they amazing!

A fun place to enjoy a beer; we didn't eat here. Sat outside, right in the sand- literally on the beach. Great service and selection of beers. Bartender was efficient & friendly. Plenty of parking & easy location.

Wow!! Really enjoyed this place!! Food was so delicious and our server was just the greatest!! She was so helpful and just and so sweet! We had the grilled blackend MahiMahi basket and the house burger! Also the fried cheese curds and Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese! It was fantastic! The atmosphere was really nice! We dinned in the outside area and it was amazing, like you were actually on the beach!

The kitchen was very behind but it caused us to close down and enjoy our time. The coco-limeade and the Surfs Up cheese fries were delicious!

Omg!!! Best fish tacos ever! Shay was an amazing bar tender and recommended the blacked fish tacos and I'm so glad that I ordered them. They also have house made salsa which is also delicious. I wasnt impressed with the nachos but the atmosphere was great. I'll definitely be back.

Great Friday night experience. Fun music, great outdoor atmosphere. French fries were some of the best I have ever had! Pickle chips - delicious, blackened shrimp tacos - delicious. I would highly recommend this place - we really enjoyed it!

In town for a few days, picked up Mahi-Mahi and Shrimp Tacos as dinner to go. Fantastic falls short of how good these truly are. Best fish tacos I’ve had. Jalapeno crema is not overdone, just enough. Fish grilled perfect, shrimp grilled perfectly. Fresh onion relish. Also grabbed some chili for lunch the next day Solid, meaty, great flavor. And a huge bonus (for me at least) Paulaner Hefe on TAP!!!

Ate here for the first time on Wednesday 8/18/21....and we will be back and back and back again! Perfect menu. Perfect setting. Great service (Thank you Mercedes!) 100 percent recommended and insist you try it out if you're in the Atlantic Beach area!
Fish tacos and shrimp tacos were AMAZING!

My wife and I Went to Idle Hour for our anniversary after strolling on the beach and had an absolutely fantastic time. Stephanie B. gave us amazing service and made some really great beer suggestions. Our burgers came out just right and were to DIE for!!

Cool local joint with a small indoor seating area but a very large outdoor beer garden. Friendly staff & wide selection of beers, including some German style beers. I highly recommend the grilled Mahi and also the fried fish. Both the onion strings and seasoned fries are worth trying.

Our new favorite spot. My husband can't stop talking about the painkillers, they're that good. The pretzel was great and the mustard sauce was the best I've ever had. Only complaint is the wings were very small but they were still really good! The live music, friendly staff, phenomenal drinks, and relaxing atmosphere make it our new favorite.

We really enjoyed our experience at Idle Hour Biergarten. We needed a place to eat on our way back home from the Cape Lookout National Seashore that was dog friendly. This place was perfect! The outdoor seating area is so nice with shade, yard games, and they even brought fresh water for our dog. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. It was the perfect ending to our trip.

Great spot to sit outside and have food and adult beverages! It is on the beach although you’d have to walk around the corner to see the ocean. Lots of outdoor seating and good music, a good cross-section of craft beers, a few wine options and mixed drinks. We enjoyed the seafood baskets but the menu covers everything from seafood to burgers and brats. We look forward to working through the whole menu!

When the wife wants to do a little shopping next door, it is only appropriate to stop in for an Idle Hour or so. I love this little spot and would definitely come again. The little beach outdoor area is really cool. I would love to see a band or two out there. Next time.

As far as beach cafes go, this spot is great. Can't see the water, but the outdoor setting doesn't disappoint. Great burger, fried shrimp, and margaritas.

First time to go to Idle Hour yesterday and will definitely not be our last. This place was great from the moment we stepped through the doors. Everyone was super friendly (the owner even came by our table). We couldn’t have gotten any better service, our waitress and the bartender were awesome. The food was so delicious. We all had different food and nothing was disappointing. The foods we had were the house burger, blackened shrimp basket, blackened flounder basket, bavarian pretzel, fries and onion straws. Can’t wait to go back and try something different. If you are anywhere in the area of Atlantic Beach, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

Cute little place in the middle of Atlantic Beach. I've eaten here several times and always had the tacos... Carne asada, shrimp and this time the chicken... which were fantastic.
The margaritas are dialed in and completely dependable.
The only negative I can think of it the stool I was sitting in was awful and super awkward to sit in. They were too tall to rest my feet on the ground and had no foot rest. But as I looked around it was the only table like that so avoid that one.
The service was great and they have live music on the weekends.
