Whether you’re looking for a crazy way to spend a Saturday night or need something to do on a Tuesday afternoon, there doesn't seem to be a "bad time" to go to the Tacklebox and you never know what you'll find when you get there. Drinks are the cheapest in town - the kind you feel "the bartender made a mistake" cheap. If you're in luck, Karen or Brandon will behind the bar, happy to support all your wrong choices in life - most of them anyway! Staff is excellent, this bar is second-to-none on people-watching and whether you are a local or a visitor, you'll love this small beach bar that we all just seem to keep going back to. Keep up the great work!

Sorry for the have eaten review pic but I couldn’t wait to take a bite. Crystal and Mary weee so nice and Mary threw together a mean Ol Fashioned out of this world. Darian the chef put together some masterpieces with that shrimp burger. Love IT

Great jello shots and bikinis on the beach, life is good. Enjoy the ocean breeze and grab a cold one. Open early and closes late, daily drink specials and a very nice beer selection on tap join the fun.

Really cool spot right by the beach. Bartenders are friendly and fast! You can go at any time of the day and find the right atmosphere. 10/10 recommend checking it out!

I had a wonderful time. I actually visited the place over several nights. Each time it a different crowd and the atmosphere was somewhat different. However, I enjoyed each visit, especially the Saturday evening when they had a live DJ.

Had a such a fun time at this hole in the wall bar. Stayed near here for the weekend a great place to hang every night. Great atmosphere, nice people. We couldn’t get over the $2 beers!!!

I loved this place! It's a private club that you can join. You just sign in and that's it. They do not sell food but it's a great little spot to take a break, have a cold beer and hang out. They also have live music on the weekends.

Friendly staff and comfortable environment. Loved that they are doggie friendly until 9 pm. Karaoke and drink specials depending on the night. Outdoor seating options are wonderful, many seats with ocean view. Restaurant right next door if you are looking for a bite to eat while you're out.

I really loved going here when I was on my anniversary vacation a few years ago. The bar is literally on the beach, it doesn't get much cooler than that. They had amazing prices on their beer, it was so relaxed, and everyone in there was super friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to get back in there eventually.

Back in the day, this bar was a no windows, psychedelic live music dive bar frequented by the Marines from the Point and Lejeune. In 14 I spent a little time there reminiscing and the service, food, view, and atmosphere had progressed to a level commensurate with my own from those halcyon days. Good memories and good times...

Went for beers and karaoke. Tends to be a younger 30s crowd. I'm in my 70s so a little young for me. Fun place.

Dog friendly, wheelchair accessible, do not serve food pther than a popcorn machine.. although places nearby do. Right at the beach, great view of the beach, nice deck area. On top of all that they have amazing prices!! I paid $9 for a 16oz draft, a tequila sunrise and 2 memberships! Cant beat this place!!!

Best bar in Carteret County...

DJ's, dance floor, jukebox. Nightly drink specials, large decks and outdoor area. Good mix of people. Friendly staff. Right next to the beach. Area is patrolled regularly by the fine men and women of the Atlantic Beach Police Department, so don't come looking for trouble. Member sign in and ID check at the door. No cover charge. Have never not had a great time there, though it can get pretty crowded sometimes. Cash only but ATM is available, or you can buy me a drink when I see you there. Cheers!!

Gotta feed the DJ the right songs sometimes, but over all a great vibe.
