Sports Center

The Sports Center is excellent with outstanding staff. They offer martial arts classes. Karate, Brazilian Jiujitsu, and Kickboxing.

Very attentive and helpful staff. They offer a variety of programs, including a lifeguard certification course. Sign ups are easy and information is readily available.

This gym is great. Has swimming pool, several basketball courts, weight training area, cardio area, kids areas where they will watch your kids while you work out, racquetball, a rack, a smoothie bar, and more.

Overall, SC is the place in Morehead City to reach your fitness goals. Has a vast majority of equipment and amenities for any type of athlete. It is family friendly and the staff is great.

My only wish is that they would stay open an hour or two later, at least for premier access members(24/7). There seems to be a decent amount of people that work out from 9pm to 11pm. I work out after my evening shifts, which usually is about 9 o’clock. So I have to pay for the premier access as it is. And frankly, I feel like I’m paying more for less. I’d like to be able to use some of the amenities (sauna/steam room, & pool/spa) but unfortunately my schedule cannot make that happen.

Regardless, I still pay because of the array of equipment that can help reach my fitness goals and I refuse to give money to fitness franchises close-by with not nearly the amenities SC has..

Great people, staff, amenities! Great for any age, something for all! I love the pool factor!! I highly recommend Sportscenter!

Took a tour of the Sports Center as a visitor with a renewing member. This place is an extreme value for what you are paying for it!

Back home I pay for 2 people to access a local gym (free weights, cardio, group classes) about 75% of what my dad paid for 3 adults and 3 kids here. For all that you're getting, they are not asking a lot.

There is a very wide range of activities and amenities available here:
- indoor pool
- outdoor pool (in season)
- cardio room
- 3 free weight rooms
- racquetball courts
- basketball courts
- protein bar
And I may have missed others I didn't notice.

The interior is a little dated, as are some of the machines and benches, but all of the equipment seemed well maintained, with no evidence of abuse by members, and there is a more than adequate range of machines and free weight benches and racks, etc. available.

The front desk staff were upbeat and seemed very eager to help us. They were smiling and very pleasant to interact with, even though they were very busy.

I would prefer a 24-hour access option, but they are open early so this is not a deal breaker for me.

It definitely felt like I was stepping back in time when I walked in here, but that is not meant in a negative way. So many places just focus on one or two activities for their members. It was really nice to see pools and racquetball courts in a gym again! More places should consider these options.

I don't think you can go wrong here, and I have not heard any complaints from my family that live in the area and come here to work out or enjoy the pool.

Gym has in door and outdoor pools(outdoor pool is seasonal). A lot of different things to do. Basketball courts, free weights or machines, steam room, and several classes offered.

I've been to a ton of gyms in the last 25 years and this one is top notch! Visited for a couple weeks while traveling through with our RV. Space and variety of equipment was great, super friendly staff, well kept and clean. Love the 3 lifting rooms, with more than ample free weights and machines. No ego, respectful patrons... just an awesome experience all around!

Great staff. Very friendly, clean, well Laid out, uncrowded in early afternoon and evening! Great pool and locker room, sauna and steam! If you're camping and need to stay fresh you can join for a week at 30 bucks and it's well worth it!!! 10 star's 🌟

Friendly, not crowded & plenty of equipment to assist with health goals this year!

I love this gym! It’s always clean, the staff is friendly, and there’s a large variety of equipment to use. I drive all the way from Jacksonville to visit every once and a while and the daily pass fee is reasonable. I especially love the sauna and pool.

Love love love this place. My kiddos love the pool, they all have been so nice to us.

Nice place with plenty of ways to exercise. They have an indoor and outdoor pool. Free weights, machines, bikes, elliptical, treadmills, stair steppers, rowing, and more. Pickel ball, basketball, racket ball, and a track. Martial Arts, spin class, yoga, and more. Great for the family.

I love the Sports Center here in Morehead City! I have a personal trainer who has helped me become a better runner by working all of my muscle groups and keeping me balanced. The facility has something for everyone, too. My son and I love playing racquetball and swimming in the pool over the summer. It is a definite plus in my life and I always look forward to heading to the gym in the afternoon.

Excellent place for working out. Great staff. Friendly atmosphere. Offers a variety of recently updated workout equipment. Surprised of the free classes available in contrast to other gyms charging extra for the classes. Child care available, from what I know, at no extra charge. Indoor, and out door pool available and in great condition. Have been a member for several years.

This place is awesome. Has two pools one inside, one outside and spas. It has tread mills, step climbers, elliptical trainers, free weights, weight machines, etc. Staff are wonderful and friendly. If you don't get a great workout here your not trying.

Used to go to this gym 15 years ago when I was a young buck. Now 15 years later I've moved back to the area and they are still an awesome family owned family operated and family oriented gym. They keep the place clean, the daycare ladies are super sweet to our 2 boys the staff are always kind and they offer anything and everything you could want out of a gym without all the corporate BS of big name gyms. Thanks Sports Center for welcoming us back to our fitness regimen and back home with smiles. Sincerely from the Carroll family.

Such a nice place to go! The pool is spacious, the gym is big, the hot tub is so nice with lots of room and jets, there's even a whole set of showers and a bathing suit dryer/spinner!!!

Very nice center. They have plenty to do when it comes to fitness and fun. We plan on joining real soon. Everyone was very friendly and everything was well taken care of. My family is looking forward to joining.
