Genuinely great burger! Super nice people!
The place is definitely a hole in the wall and could use a good sprucing up, but their sanitation grade was a 96.5. I’ve seen fancy places with a lower score.
What I liked about the burger is that although it was big and well done, it was very tender and juicy. You could tell they didn’t overwork the ground beef and the cashier said they get it from Angus Barn!
Toppings were fresh and delicious and seasoned fries were greasy in the best of ways.
You can eat in, but there’s not much ambiance and it’s a bit noisy.
For sure will be going back to try more than a burger!

My g'ness!! Pork chop dinner (singular, but really two meals worth!) was awesome... best turnip greens I've EVER had - including (gulp!) from my Kentucky and Mississippi grandmothers. The staff couldn't be friendlier, the menu is classic roadhouse and they deliver at every opportunity!

An absolute fantastic local grub hub. Bacon Cheeseburger was enormous, juicy and delicious. Portions are sized well and leave you feeling full. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly. Bob knows his regulars! Highly recommended.

I flew in from Colorado and traveled from Florida to North Carolina, and this place hands down was the best food I ate that entire trip. The ribs, cole slaw, hush puppies and fried okra were heavenly. Sweet tea was cold and refreshing. Large portions, very friendly service and delicious food make this a "must go to" place. If you're in the area I highly recommend you visit. I will return as often as possible. Gratitude to Big Bob for excellent food.

Excellent eats! Fresh food, large portions, carefully prepped! The gentleman opened my food boxes showing me each order before placing in bags. Don't expect a fancy place, the real setup is behind the curtain - in the kitchen!

OMG!!!! I can’t tell you enough about how much I enjoyed this place!!!! I had heard great things about it but wanted to try it for myself. I believe the lady’s name is Angie greeted us with such a sweet spirit and shared in our enthusiasm about what we were going to try. I’m a big southern fried girl and pork chops are a MUST! I am also a Mac ‘n’ cheese connoisseur! I got the porkchop plate with Mac’n’cheese and corn and an order of onion rings….don’t judge me! 😂 My friend ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger all the way and the appetizer size cheese fries. They brought the food out in to go boxes, not because we ordered it to go but because they give you so much they already know you’re going to need a box! One less step for all of us. To say it was delicious would be an understatement. It was truly one of the best porkchops I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a ton of porkchops! The best compliment came from my friend who said as he was taking the last couple of bites of his burger, “Its weird to say but I’m so sad that it’s gone.” That’s so seriously good food my friends, when your heart is a little broken that there isn’t any more. To the gentleman in the back, if you’re single….you don’t have to be!!! 😉

If you’re ever in Hillsborough, NC, you have to check this place out. I promise you won’t be disappointed and if by chance you are the odd one that is, you might wanna get checked for COVID because obviously something is wrong with your sense of taste.

We came for the burgers and they didn’t disappoint. It had to be 1lb of beef in that patty. The burgers were great and the lemonade was really good too. Will be back for sure

We're not local but we hoped the great reviews were trustworthy, and we took a chance on this place while visiting Hillsborough today. It exceeded our expectations! It's not fancy but the service and atmosphere was super friendly and the food was excellent with generous portions. My husband got the fried chicken livers and said they were the best he'd had. I got the grilled chicken chef salad and it was loaded with toppings. We'll eat here again next time we're in the area!

Looks can be deceiving! This place doesn't look that good on the outside or inside, but the food is amazing! The cashier was very polite. The food was fresh, and they give you plenty! I had a fish sandwich lunch combo. Y'all it's delicious. I plan to go again this Thursday!

First time here and it was delicious! The only thing I didn't like was the coleslaw, everybody has their own taste buds it's just didn't do it for me. However, you get a great amount of food for reasonable pieces.

I was recommended this place by a coworker and I must say it was worth the drive. Don't be alarmed by how it looks, most hole in the walls have the best food!! I ordered a cheeseburger with a side or okra and Mac & cheese. You get more than your money's worth with their servings. The burger was big enough to share and still be full! I'm not from the area but if I ever pass through, I will definitely be stopping to try something else of the menu.

Hope you're hungry! Great hamburger old fashioned hamburger. My husband and I split a cheeseburger. Even eating half I was stuffed. It was delicious. Got a piece of yummy looking red velvet cake to take home for dessert tonight.

Big Bob’s is a great little joint in Hillsboro with hot, delicious food and huge portions!

It may look like a dive from the outside and it is small on the inside but they deliver on their home cooked meals at good prices. We ordered the pork barbecue plate with Mac and cheese and slaw; the whiting fried fish with fries and slaw. There were 4 pieces of fish! It was all so good, we ate on it for two days.

We will definitely try their other menu items. We love Big Bob’s!! ❤❤❤

I went yesterday after a hike, thought the food looked good...good does not do justice, it was delicious! I got the Chicken Philly with onion rings, and it was sooo good. Great atmosphere and everyone was pleasantly nice! Parking was good too.

Went to take my wife out for quick birthday dinner in Hillsborough, NC. Nothing appeared to be open, but we saw on Google Big Bob’s City Grill and decided to give it a try. All I can say is Big Bob’s didn’t let us down. Here is a few pictures from our order and the food tasted, much better than we could have imagined.

Definitely going to be back again and would highly recommend.

This was by far one of the most surprising, off main, extravaganzas. Though you may not be impressed by the building and décor, you will have your socks knocked off by the exquisite fare. I have never had a ribeye sandwich in which the ribeye was an actual steak. I'm not talking about a shaved ribeye, or those cafeteria steaks. I'm talking a good 1/2" cut ribeye. Cooked exactly as I had asked, med-rare, with generous toppings and plenty of onion rings. Succulent and tender with sautéed onions. I am not one for eating the same thing twice at a restaurant, but I want another one.
Now if you are more partial to the ground -cow type sandwich, the bacon cheese burger is phenomenal. When my wife opened the box, she wondered what two people she was supposed to share it with. It's like, "I see the meat, where's the bun?" This is a hand-formed meat patty with plenty of toppings in proportion to the meat supplied.
Highly, Highly, Highly recommend. Looking forward to more.

I got the two pork chop dinner. Lawd have mercy, the biggest chops I have ever laid eyes on. Fried to perfection, tender and tasty! The mac-n-cheese was on point. Fried okra was a little too crispy/crunchy for my taste (some probably would have liked it that way).

Shoutout to MrChimeTime YouTube review that led me to try Big Bob's and I was not disappointed. Highly recommend this place. Best to call in order ahead of time, as food is cooked to order.

Only suggestions for Mr Bob would be to get online order capability and if
po$$ible, fix up the joint a bit (could use a makeover).

Great portions, lots of options, and welcoming staff. I think their burger is the BEST in Hillsborough! And their chicken liver with gravy was delicious and their pork chop. Again, variety and quality. Gem of a place!
