Yummy hibachi!

I get take out from here several times a year when I'm in town. I usually get the shrimp hibachi but I got the chicken hibachi today and was surprised by how tender and juicy it was. I guess I expected it to be a little dry or rubbery, based on previous experiences at other hibachi places. Same goes for the shrimp--easy to overcook but it's always been perfect every time in recent memory that I've gotten it at this particular establishment.

The service is friendly and very quick. The price has gone up over the years, as it has at every restaurant, but the portion sizes here are huge! I get 2-3 meals out of every meal I buy here. Can't beat that value. I'm interested to try their newly added sushi menu sometime when I'm in the mood for sushi.

As for the atmosphere, it is a typical takeout restaurant style, but it's nice for what it is--a few decorative accents--and feels very clean. I have dined-in on a couple occasions when my kiddo had too voracious an appetite to make it home. *Bonus points* If you dine in, they give you a whole squeeze bottle of white sauce to use instead of a single cup of sauce that comes with a takeout meal.

We came into town from an hour away and we're so happy we stopped here. The food was so fresh and delicious. The white sauce is the best we have ever had! You get a lot of food for the price as well. Highly recommend this place and we will be back for sure.

Hands down the best Japanese Food in Hillsborough & surrounding areas. Outstanding Customer Service. I eat here at least once a week & don't see that changing ever!

very very good service all the young ladies in the front and the cooks in the back very very hard workers. they do very good and try their very best. i LOVE this place to go and eat. bring out food so fast and very good sauce. prices are fair for what you get. definitely recommend going and i’m definitely coming back!!!

It was very busy, so call before you arrive! The food was absolutely worth the wait though!!!! BEST HABIBCH I've had in

Great place to grab a quick and healthy lunch or dinner. The menu is simple with a good selection of protein and vegetables. The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was bright and clean.

Staff is nice. Calling in food was a breeze. They substituted carrots for onions for me. It was correct on delivery. It has been a while since I’ve eaten here. That made me sad.

This is mostly a takeout place but they do have some seating. It was neat and clean. The lady that took my order spoke English very well. She was helpful got our order right the first time. I had the shrimp habichi that was very good and plenty of food. I also had a sushi roll that was also really.

Overall great food, friendly and nice staff! The restaurant itself was above and beyond as far as cleanliness and decor. Me and my boyfriend didn't have to wait for long for our food and the price was definitely worth what we got!

No complaints here. Portions are pretty damn good for the price. Steak/chicken can tell they actually season it. Vegetables were amazing as well.

Had to wait for a while. They are a little short staffed. But it was worth it. There lunch specials menu was good 👍.

The best hibachi takeout I've ever eaten. Prices are very reasonable. The place is extremely clean, and customer service is very good.

Overall rating is definitely 5 stars. For a chain Japanese takeout, it's decent food. I can't complain. The food is always hot, it's relatively quickly made, and the sushi is pretty good. I very much appreciate the kindness and attentiveness of the staff as well.

I recently tried a similar restaurant at Brier Creek and ordered the same thing I get in Hillsborough. There was NO comparison whatsoever. I only asked for chicken and what was in my tray were tiny "bits" of something they were passing off as chicken your cat might eat. The veggies were not cooked through and the 2 rice "balls" were not fried rice and tasteless. The Hillsborough Tokyo Express is AMAZING and their front door swings open every few minutes with loyal customers who can't get enough of their delicious food.

They are always incredibly kind there.
The food is delicious, exactly what you would want from a hibachi restaurant. Vegetables cooked well, not too soggy, excellent flavor.

Absolutely some of the best food Hillsborough has to offer. Their is something for everyone here, meat lovers, vegetarian and vegans all can come and eat the amazing foods. I come here at least once a week but if I had it my way I’d eat here everyday. The staff is excellent and the food is superb.

I got the teriyaki chicken, it was cooked perfectly. There could have been a bit more teriyaki sauce but over all great food. The food came out surprisingly fast despite them being pretty mid lunch rush. 9/10

We love Tokyo express. It's nothing fancy, your standard hibachi type cuisine, but the ingredients always taste extra fresh, the store is immaculately clean, and the service is always very fast. Reasonable prices and great food make this a regular for us.

Good food and good amount of it! I always order the hibachi veggies plate with rice and never disappointed. 2 of these plates feed me and my 3 children for dinner (2y, 8y and 10y) for 2 nights.
A tip: Always order extra white sauce! 1 per plate just isn't enough. 😊
