Village Deli and Grill - Lake Boone Trail

Sometimes you go to a place so often and for so long that you just forget about how great a job they do. I have been going to Village Deli on Lake Boone Trail for about ten years and the place is just consistently great. The food is better then it should be, the desserts are amazing (They actually catered part of my wedding desserts), and anytime you go in there the place will be full of people from around the neighborhood who have made this their regular spot.

A place never achieves 'Regular' status without a top down commitment to service. Apart from the food, the staff will recognize you and it is always fun going somewhere where everyone knows your name. Great spot! Put it into your regular lunch or breakfast rotation and you won't be disappointed!

Food was tasty; my mother loved the chicken gnocchi soup, the pear and blue cheese salad was fresh, and the sandwiches were great. Key lime pie was ok, sweeter than I usually like, but the consistency was fine. It was a little cramped and loud with the lunch rush, but I think it lends a nice atmosphere if you’re about town chatting with someone; makes it feel bustling. Nice experience overall.

I have been going to this restaurant for years. I love the menu and especially look at the board that lists the daily specials. I almost always order off the board because the daily offerings are delicious, unique and creative. Sometimes I go to the menu for a favorite like fish and chips or the french dip. Yum. Service is friendly; the staff is excellent and it's great for families too. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great meal and experience.

Great place for any meal of the day. Soups and dressings are all homemade as are the chicken, tuna and egg salads which are MADE FRSH DAILY. Never had a bad meal and the staff is both friendly and welcoming. My go to is the French dip and the O-rings. Freshly battered and served hot! A must get! Meals are served timely and it has a really nice covered patio if you wish to sit outside.

This has become a go-to lunch spot for me in Raleigh, I’ve never had a bad sandwich here. They also frequently satiate my craving for good potato salad. Highly recommend any of their paninis or salads, I do wish they had more soup choices though! The staff are always super friendly, sometimes orders can take a bit because it’s crowded during lunch time and they never seem to get flustered.

This was my first time here, and I was so happy we chose to have lunch here. I had a chicken salad sandwich and fries..delicious. My friend had sweet potato fries, which were also delicious. But the most endearing thing about the deli is the staff. They are friendly and helpful and went out of their (busy!) way to make our lunch great.

Just had the most tasty and satisfying lunch from Village Deli. I ordered Anna’s Veggie Pita and sweet potato fries from Door Dash. Have to say that both the pita and the fries were perfect. The hummus had just the right amount of kick, without being too spicy. Crisp fresh cucumbers and lettuce. The sweet potato fries were soft and creamy inside, but crispy on the outside, just like I like them, with the perfect amount of salt, and not coated is sugar.

The order which came through Door Dash, as I mentioned, was timely, and fresh. The fries weren’t cold or stale the way fries sometimes are when you get delivery.

All in all, I’m very satisfied with my meal and the whole experience. Thanks Village Deli!

Eggs and protein breakfast with grits. Grits were delicious!! Bacon was perfectly cooked. Crispy but not overcooked. Eggs. Over easy were exactly that the person who took our order and brought us our food also brought over. Fresh pot of coffee and jellies for the toast. Minor complaint rock hard butter on lukewarm toast.

Met a friend for lunch here and absolutely fell in love with the place. Great sandwiches and the service was top notch. They don't offer table service (you order and pay at the counter) but they still had staff roaming around to offer fill-ups on drinks, remove dirty plates, fetch boxes.

I had the Turkey, Avocado, and Brie panini - chef's kiss! Their fries and homemade ranch were delicious. I've heard their breakfast is really good and can't wait to try that soon.

My friend and I had lunch here. We ordered hot dogs and they were delicious. They usually steam the buns but she prefers them toasted. The staff toasted the buns to perfection. The chili and slaw toppings were also excellent. The sweet and unsweet teas were fresh. They had freshly cut wedges of lemon, not little pieces. The staff was extremely friendly. My friend did mention the restroom was rather dirty. Neither of us mentioned it to management though. I'm sure they would have taken care of it immediately. The dining area was clean. We will certainly return to try some of the other offerings.

Great variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, subs and paneni's and all with unique twists that I have never heard of. Service is cafeteria style but it's worth waiting on yourself for the quality of food you get here. I tried a blackbean burger and I don't like them but it was delicious here. I would highly recommend this location for any meal.

Love this place! I have been going here since I was in college and go out of my way to go back any time I am in Raleigh. Best ranch dressing in Wake County!

The food is always fantastic here! I got the Carolina burger, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The chili was so good!

1st time. Me & sister went for breakfast . Had breakfast wrap with avocado. It was very tasty! Everybody was very friendly & wonderful atmosphere

Husband and I had to make a quick trip to Raleigh and saw this place online cause we needed lunch and boy am I glad we found it! Staff is super nice and the food is delicious and fresh! I had the California Chicken Salad sandwich and it was SO GREAT!

Holy moly. I’ve had food here before (takeout only) but I’m literally having the breakfast wrap for the first time (as I type this) and I can honestly say this is the best breakfast wrap I’ve had in my 8 years living in raleigh. Chef’s kiss. Well done. I will stop here any and every time I’m in this part of Raleigh
