American Woodyards

Glad I found this place. Been using their kiln dried wood in my fire pit for 2 years now. I pick up by the pound and usually call before heading over to ensure the wood is available. Will try the delivery option in the near future.

My wife and I were looking for lumber to build a large dining room table. The team at American Woodyards were very helpful in explaining our options and hunting through their inventory until we found five lengths of ambrosia maple. They were very patient with us and answered every question. Definitely went above and beyond. Will go back again and recommend to anyone looking for something special.

I got a trunk load of firewood for a little over $20. This is way less than one would pay at a grocery store. Friendly and quick service!

This is a very good quality kiln dried wood. The price is fair and the quantity is generous. This is my second year buying from them and I'm very happy.

In the past we have used American Woodyards mostly for a variety of mantel styles for our custom homes and they do a great job. While I was there I noticed they rent out wood rounds. They made perfect centerpieces for our tables.

I ordered a half cord of kiln dried fire wood. The ordering was easy, the delivery was next day, and the quality of the burn is perfect. Barely any smoke and the coals burn hot and slow for cooking over the pit.

I purchased a half cord of kiln dried wood and had it delivered to my home. The wood is burning great, the company was very responsive to email correspondence, and the delivery was done promptly on the day we arranged. Overall great experience working with the company. I will definitely be making them my go to for firewood moving forward!

What a fantastic place! Very rough and rugged, you fill your own car up. I found myself with plenty of others caught by the snow coming in this weekend. I called ahead and understandably, 3 to 4 weeks for a delivery. Got my little 4 door sedan out there and weighed in, filled up the backseat of my car in about ten minutes, weighed out and paid! The kiln dried looks great, can't wait to get it in my fireplace!

Wish that I had discovered this place years ago. Easy system and fair pricing. Full trunk load was like $35.

When I say these are some of the nicest folks I have met, it isn’t an exaggeration. I’m a ten-year Cary resident but came from rural NC - it has been a long time since I’ve been able to meet with folks so friendly and skilled. Buy all my firewood here. The process is very efficient and the pricing extremely reasonable. You can pick your own firewood, so you can get the sizes that work best for your fireplace and style of burning (yes, it's a thing :)). During certain high demand periods it's advisable to call ahead and check availability.

These are the nicest people to do business with. I had no idea how to go about purchasing wood and they were so helpful and made it so easy. I got 100lbs of wood for $16...which was what I would spend at the supermakets for 3 bundles. Makes me ill all the money I spent last year!!

Great place to get firewood. Just get your vehicle weighed then drive to the wood piles. Had a person there to help load the firewood. Get vehicle weighed again, park, pay by the pound and you're done. Very efficient. They deliver too!

Very nice, very cheap firewood. It IS a bit of effort hauling it, but you'll have to haul it out of the car too anyways, so it's no more than twice the work you could hope for. Worth the huge discount compared to grocery store bags.

This is the best place to get great firewood kiln dried at a great price. Pull up on the scale get the thumbs up. Load up your vehicle. Pull back onto scale get thumbs up and pay. Best firewood in Raleigh!

Need a 4"x16½"x6' piece of Cypress. Not only did they have it a couple of days early, instead of shortening it and more than likely scraping the cutoff, they gave me the stick length at no extra charge. Price was also more than reasonable. Thanks to everyone for the great service I received.

Great, dry fire wood. Burns clean and does not go out until the wood is gone. Highly recommend for fireplace firewood.

Great customer service, great selection of wood. Found the perfect double live edge slab for a shelving project I'm planning. Great prices too! Highly recommend!

Needed an 8/4 slab of eastern red cedar as well as some 4/4 stock. The young man walked me to different places and helped me pick out what I needed. Very friendly and they have a great selection of rough cut lumber.
