Chabad of Charleston - Center for Jewish Life

Just visiting Charleston and went here for Friday night dinner. I've been to many Chabads all over the world and this one was by far the nicest building I've been to. The dinner was delicious, extremely organized, and the Rabbi and his wife made us feel at home. The locals were also very friendly. Great place to go to for Shabbat dinner. Thank you for having us!!

One of the hardest parts of relocating from Mount Pleasant was losing the hospitality, friendliness and warmth both Yossi and Sarah showed me during my 18 months living in Mount Pleasant. From Shabbat morning services to Friday Night dinners and holiday celebrations I always felt welcome. Especially as a still recent college graduate, this Chabad had a great mix of young adults, middle aged people, and older people which made making friends so easy. I miss the weekly challah pickups. I have been to other Chabad’s and Yossi and Sarah have the best challah by far. If I’m ever back in the area I’ll have to stop by and visit. I cannot recommend this Chabad enough for Jews of any religious observance as the more egalitarian nature of the services are very accommodating.

Warm hospitality. Informative classes and discussions. The cooking classes are awesome. Yossi and Sarah Refson compliment each other with an abundance of knowledge and faith.

I can only say wonderful things about the people.

Soccer Shots Charleston has held sessions at Chabad Center for Jewish Life for over a year and we love the kids and staff! The kids are well behaved and the staff go above and beyond to assist in anyway. Highly recommend!

Moving from New Jersey to Mount Pleasant, I was in search of a local temple. Moving to another state is one thing, it’s another during Covid. Chabad of Charleston and the Lowcountry has been wonderful during the past few months, from accommodating services to weekly challah and other treats. I really cannot thank Chabad enough with the recent delivery of Challah and Kugel to my home during our family’s quarantine. Thank you so much for everything.

We attend the Preschool of the Arts which is hosted by the Chabad. What a wonderful place. Sarah and Rabbi are great and make our entire family feel so welcome.
