Great experience with Dan at Lawyer Lisa. We had put off doing our wills thinking it’s would be difficult and time consuming. Dan made the process simple and quick. We feel much better knowing our assets are better protected, our wishes are clearly stated and our children will not be unnecessarily burdened when we pass.

My family and I went to Lisa Hostetler Brown for help with my mother when her dementia suddenly worsened. The first thing I told Lisa was that my sister and I were at odds about how to handle all the legal choices to be determined. She assured me that she was clever enough to figure out to how make us both happy in the writing up of documents. We met with her twice, investing precious time, energy, and money believing she would help. On two separate occasions Lisa and her assistant told me two different things, both very important things; one about whether or not my brother in Australia needed to be in attendance on Zoom and the other being when payment would be paid. Lisa told me we (my mom and I) could pay the full, upfront fee of $11,500 any time in the next two weeks and the assistant then started contacting my sister the next day again and again insisting she pay and do it right away. When my sister explained that my mom and I were paying and she should contact us Lisa dropped us as clients. She did it through e-mail citing family conflict (which she assured me would be no problem when we first met) and lack of payment as her reasons saying that she clearly told us we had to pay the next day which is not accurate. By the time we were dropped my mom’s condition was so bad that she was in no position to be signing documents with anyone. We lost our window of opportunity to help my mom by spending our time counting on Lisa and her team. I begged Lisa to take us back explaining to her at length through e-mail about the misunderstanding and never got a reply. The amount of suffering this led to as we had no legal recourse to assist my mom as she needed is indescribable—ER visits, police visits, my mom laying in the middle of a busy road at 1:00am, life threatening issues that could have been avoided. All Lisa had to do was call us to straighten out the payment issue and everything would have been fine.
