My wife went there for our first date and dancing in a long time. When we first walked in, the staff was really nice and showed us to our table. Then we ordered some questions about the food, and the head chef came out and explained the dishes to us. For me, that was a special treat since I was going to school to be a chef, and at the end, he came back out to see if it was good. This is a great place for dinner for those looking for a date night out.

They have a nice assortment of wine and drinks. We had wine flights, which were nice. For dinner, we started with the Burrata, which was a nice change with the cherry chutney. Then I had a the Block 65 burger, which was good. The fries were great. And my girlfriend had the Walleye, which was very good. Service was great and it is a very nice setting.

Absolutely fabulous, excellent menu, service, and ambiance! Truly enjoyed our meal. From the burrata salad, boar soup, and the incredible duck and even the brussel sprouts! This is a must!

The wild boar soup, carrot cake and burger were all very good. Also ordered a kids bluegill dinner which was also very good. We plan on coming back here.

We had a reservation that we were running late for (flat tire). When we called that we would be late they were more then accommodating. When we arrived they saw our online reservation mentioned a birthday and had a small card waiting at the table!
Very friendly staff and between our apps, dinner and dessert… we were speechless how great everything was tasting.
Their prices are a range, some being closer to $14 for a meal to $28 for a meal.

Overall, I’d recommend highly! We had an amazing experience.

Forty Pearl is a low key local venue offering an intimate dinning experience. The decor embodies modern elegance with a fantastic wine display. The menu isn’t overwhelming and is loaded with simple but wonderfully tasty dishes. The service was fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive. Perfect place for a date. Well worth checking out!!

Awesome experience! Some of the best service, I have had in a long time. The food quality was what you would expect, coming from downtown Grand Rapids. Homemade quality. The ultimate question, would I go back; absolutely!!

Wonderful experience. There was a mix up with our reservation, but the manager and staff made it right. We were on a time crunch as we were going to see a show that night, but we got out of there in time.
The food was wonderful. I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich and my sister and niece split a burger, and it was big enough for both of them.
I also had the garlic fries and they were amazing. My niece had the brussel sprouts and she also said they were really good.
The wine was delicious, and the service impeccable. I'm looking forward to bringing my husband with me next time. He'll die for the brussel sprouts.

I tried this restaurant because of location and menu and they did not disappoint. It was a very quick walk from the JW and has great curb appeal and atmosphere. We had oyster shooters and truffle fries to start. Both were excellent and came out quick. For dinner we had the short rib and lamb shank. Both were exceptional in presentation and taste. The lamb and short rib were both extremely tender and delicious. My gf is gluten free so it was a pleasant surprise to see gluten free carrot cake available. She said it was very delicious and moist. I had the chocolate mousse, and it was also delicious. If you are in Grand Rapids, FortyPearl is a must for dinner.

Great experience tonight at Forty Pearl. Great building and interior, makes for a casual yet fancy vibe. Food was top notch and our server was very nice. Drinks were good and the price was reasonable. If that's not enough, the service was impeccable.

Beautiful, creative, and surprising dishes. Most of them seemed relatively straightforward in the description, but each one had something unexpected that really elevated it. Everything blew me away. I didn't eat a single thing that wasn't pleasantly surprising, which is exactly how food should be in my opinion. The fact that they focus on local food is a huge bonus as well. Highly recommended.

Amazing food! Seriously 5/5 stars there. Atmosphere was awesome and the restaurant was really clean. Chef Gordon Ramsey would be proud of this place. Super sad to hear about the damage that was done to this place from the rioting. The general manager was super nice as well.

Not sure how you can give a lower rating to this place because they don't currently beer. They're known for their wines! Send an email to the owner about that rather than giving them a lower rating!

We will definitely be coming back soon!

The staff was really friendly! We were in town for Jafax, and struggled to find affordable food within walking distance to the convention center. This place was a little pricy, but the food is WORTH it! Definitely would visit again if I'm in town!

Had a reservation for 8:45pm, showed up 45min early and just stopped in to chill at the bar for a while, the host greeted us with a smile and sat us right away, It was a phenomenal start!

Service was great, food was amazing and drinks were spot on. Had the oysters, mushroom toast, soup, walleye and duck. All of it was amazing, definitely going back.

Dine in or outside. Beautiful restaurant. Lots of windows to enjoy the busy area.
Great wine selection and drinks.
Food was outstanding.
Bathrooms clean and had to walk up two or three steps to get there. Possibly a ramp on other side.
Started with a nice glass of wine, Park Ranger and Dune Climb. Each one excellent.
Enjoyed a charcuterie tray(pictured below). Delicious.
We had perch reuben sandwiches and fried chicken sandwiches with sides of brussel sprouts, garlic fries and truffle fries. Large portions for awesome leftovers.
Dessert was butterscotch creme brulee. It was okay. We really wanted the blueberry cheesecake but it was not available.
You are able to walk in and buy wine by the bottle to go. Wonderful selection.
Michigan sourced wine, alcohol and food.
Surroundings were dark woods and fine china, cloth napkins and good silver...and a cornucopia of Art Prize Displays.
