Aman Park in Ottawa County, just west of Grand Rapids, is a great place for a walk in the woods. Any season is good. The trails are very well maintained and good in the summer or under snow cover. In general, the trails are well marked, with some exceptions where trails meet and the direction to go may be unclear. However, the park is pretty hard to get really lost in. Lots of elevation change from the parking area down to Sand Creek, so this provides for some nice views across the small valley. Lots of dog lovers use the park, but only saw the dogs and not what might need to be picked up. Did see some aphids on the beech trees. Let's hope those are not the extremely destructive variety. A hardy wheelchair user might be able to navigate some of the trails. However, in at least one place a tree limb blocked the trail. Could walk around it, but wheeling around would be problematic. Some of the trail is pretty steep.

Great trails going through the woods. Lots of different lengths depending on how far you want to walk. There's also a few geocaches hid throughout if you are interested in geocaching.

Gorgeous park, more than we could cover in our hike that day. Streams run thru, beautiful bridges and extensive pathways.

I go for the nature and the trails! Space free parking (no lines) there are massive trials great for hiking, or even cross country skiing. (I've not actually done any ccs here but it'd be nice). Good amount of parking. I've never been inside the buildings here, just come to enjoy the river and the trees, birds etc. Good for a date. A lonely stroll or family time. I've seen people fishing, must be a coming spot. Lots to see. Still a bit cold but yes they are open so stop by and enjoy the bliss of nature!

Love it here! Trails are well marked. The one porta-potty we used was clean and well stocked.

Definitely the best park for a hike in nature within the Grand Rapids metro area. Only 15 minutes from the city center, it has beautiful scenic trails. The variety of trails will keep you coming back as well as the gorgeous stream, the diverse forest, and the wonderful wildlife. I grew up going to this park several times a year and continue to this very day. Also not overcrowded.

For Mother’s Day my wife wanted to do a family hike. We visited Alan park a year ago and loved it so here we are again. There are trails for all skill levels with plenty of space to explore. Strolling near the water is gorgeous and serene. Highly recommend!!

What a lovely place for a walk! The trails are clear and well marked, there are rubber mats placed in uphill/downhill areas that can get a bit slippery in mud or ice and there is a stream running through the woods. Many trails are available to make for a lengthy hike if you so choose.

Great place to go on some longer hikes through the woods, and a nice place to cross country ski in the winter if there's enough snow.

We really enjoy walking this park with our dogs. The few times we have visited, everyone has had their dogs leashed which is nice.

Loved getting to experience this park today. While it is still early season, the park is starting to come to life. The trails are well defined and clear. It's peaceful and has some nice views. Definitely will return later this summer to walk the trails we didn't get to this time.

My kids and I love a good hike and this place lived up to it. We particularly enjoyed the trail along the creek. Couple of picnic tables near trail entrances perfect for a lunch before a hike to work it off.
