Doctor wiaduck is literally my favorite doctor. He really cares about his patients. I think Diane is awesome as well. She tells it how it is and i respect that.

Best psychiatrist I have ever worked with. It is expected the psychiatrists are knowledgeable in pharmacology, but he is on another level. He has more licenses than any psychiatrist or other physician around, and because of his knowledge, he is able to identify imbalances, and treat them in ways that no other physician can. His staff is very caring, flexible, and supportive. I have been a patient for roughly 6 years and my life has become so much better in that time. Our area needs more physicians like him! If you need mental health or substance abuse treatment, he is your guy!

I have accompanied a bi-polar family member to meet their new psychiatrists for about 20 years now. There have been seven so far. We go together because support is so necessary. The patient/psychiatrist relationship is very tricky and difficult, especially at first. The doctor needs to trust the patient to tell the truth because his diagnosis is based on facts that are determined through dialogue and medical history. The patient is desperate to find a helpful and empathetic doctor and staff in West Michigan, where there is such a terrible shortage. Patients know a lot about what works and doesn't, and has built up a high degree of anxiety about the broken system we call mental health assistance. The office staff also has to understand the troubled state of the patient - these are troubled people needing help; they are not coming to get a haircut! Many things can go wrong in this emotionally charged situation, especially when you add the high costs of doctors and medicine, poor health insurance, and governmental regulations that control what the psychiatrist and pharmacist can do. We have been with Dr. Wiaduck for three months now and everything is going well. Dr. Wiaduck listens very closely to what the patient has to say, and I detect a healthy dose of skepticism at first. We have found him very thoughtful and considerate, even more so when he begins to trust the patient. He doesn't just administer drugs; he tries to help the patient with a long term plan to become stable and functional. From someone who has been through it all, again and again, and has worked through the most exasperating situations at every turn with doctors and receptionists, my advice is 1) to bring a companion, and 2) to treat all parties concerned with the respect , gentleness and patience they deserve.

Dr. Wiaduck is an excellent psychiatrist! They got me in right away after my local Dr. always made me wait 2-3 weeks for another appt/meds after I was 10 mins late (having ADHD it's very hard to be right on time!!) Office staff/nurse very pleasant and kind to interact with. This practice has an efficient flow and low stress vibe, thank goodness for that:))

Dr. Wiaduck is a true professional in every sense of the word. He is a very reasonable man and willing to work with any course of treatment desired, as long as the request is within reason. I believe he genuinely cares about those under his wing as long as they're willing to do the work on their end.

I have been seeing Dr. Wiaduck for about 9 years now and I think he is very knowledgeable, skillful and very professional. Now his wife on the other hand? That’s what leads me to go with a 3 instead of 5. She is ruining his practice and is going to burry the place into the ground if he doesn’t find someone way more friendlier, understanding and way more professional than she is. I could go on all day but the fact of the matter is she is of no help, has had me out of my medications for weeks (talk about withdrawal) and can’t seem to just book an apt without issues. I am seriously thinking of switching doctors because of her!

Wow. Diane. Wow.
If selling my bill to collections makes you so upset, I suggest scheduling an appointment with a legit professional to discuss your shortcomings.

If you have been abused or misbilled by this office I encourage you to report it to hcf at Michigan dot gov.

On top of the other reviews about this receptionist, I wanted to chime in that she is plain bad at her job and if she can’t figure out how to put in your insurance information in order to bill you, she won’t try to figure it out and just pass the cost and problem on to you to make the calls to your insurance, figuring out the details she needs to WRITE on the filing (because digital is too hard I guess, making this process take weeks not seconds like modern offices).

Zero other offices in the area have ever had an issue running my insurance, the only complexities being that I am not the main account holder and it’s through Colorado but BCBS still wants local offices to file via Michigan and they’ll handle it. Not that hard.

It took 4 months and no fewer than 30 calls between this receptionist and my insurance to get them paid, purely because she didn’t understand what she was doing and could NOT communicate what she needed OR listen to suggestions, all the while they’re threatening collections. Again, only because they couldn’t figure out how to file my insurance. When I pointed this out she flipped out on me, “you can’t say that!!” Watch me. Also, guess what, you got paid in full the day after my insurance claim finally got filed right and you gave me a final dollar amount that I owed. And I guessed what the problem was the first time you called to ask me about it, day 1, but you didn’t listen. In a frustrated, heated conversation she suggested I talk to my primary care instead about my issues and I took her up on that, never went back and finally making huge strides in mental health progress🤙

I had BCBS representatives talk to this lady multiple times, call and leave voicemails and texts that this receptionist mysteriously never receives. She screens office calls and only answers if she wants, you have to leave a voicemail otherwise.

Overall absolute trash receptionist, who is the Doctor’s wife too so she’s not going anywhere. Probably just roughing through to retirement since they’re both around that age. I wonder if she uses her husband’s services, I think she could. And if she does that’s more reason to…

Look elsewhere if you want psychiatry. Doctor gives good service but the receptionist will make sure to cause you enough stress about getting that service that your mental health ends up net negative. It’s genuinely like she hates the patients, I have never had someone be so rude and belligerently unhelpful in me just trying to get them paid.

I am trying to see this doctor. All of the reviews say that the doctor is great but the receptionist is awful. I can absolutely add to this. The women answering the phone has terrible customer service. She does not return phone calls and if you do get her in the phone acts like your an inconvenience.

She literally hung up in me 3x, like who does this. I don't even know what to do. I had my doctors office send my info over and now I don't even want them to have it.

If this doctors is truly as good as people say he is, he needs to wake up and get rid of his receptionist ASAP.

I saw Dr. Wiaduck for six years when he was at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI. I called his office in Norton Shores today and the woman who answered the phone was extremely unprofessional, extremely rude, and dismissive. As a business owner, I would be appalled if someone spoke to one of my clients or a potential clients with such blatant disrespect. What a shame because he is a great doctor.

I was so excited to see Dr. Wiaduck. He had the best reviews.. I drove 2 hours to see Dr. Wiaduck. When I arrived, the dead-eyed receptionist informed me I had a $425 copay. I don't have a copay for psychiatric visits and I had made sure they accepted my insurance. When I said I wouldn’t pay the incorrect copay, the receptionist cancelled my appointment. She proceeded to argue with me as I insisted I needed this appointment. I have a mood disorder and I require medication. Near the end of our dispute, Dr. Wiaduck came up near the desk. I begged him to do something about his receptionist (I was freaking out..) and he said, “I don’t want to meet with you under these conditions.” So by that logic, he probably doesn’t want to see you either. I have never been violent.. He went to hide in his office, and the receptionist threatened to call the police, kept picking up the phone and putting it down.. I had to go outside to calm down. This situation was the most identifiable catalyst to my going inpatient at a psychiatric hospital.. A bit ironic, to be honest.

I made a phone call to this office today and the receptionist was HORRIFIC. One of the rudest ‘customer service representatives’ I’ve encountered in decades! She refused to acknowledge my DPOA and medical POA and is making me wait 5 weeks to see the doctor.

Only took a year to follow up on billing. When they had an issue that they threatened collection services so we contacted them. We tried to help them clear the insurance issue but they told us not to contact them anymore!! My wife and the insurance company has contacted them over 20 times to resolve this issue!! It’s covered and a no brainer but the staff there is completely incompetent apparently!! Never tried to help someone take care of an issue and have them us tell us not to contact them anymore!!! Nobody was rude or inconsiderate but they are certainly on there own page. I would say the same thing about the service.. listens well but like the staff he hires largely incompetent. We will not contact them again but if they contact us we will see them in court!!

I highly do not recommend this office! After being a patient for almost 2 years constantly being double billed and when I finally had enough of it and had all the proof was told not to contact them again! This has happened to 3 others who go there as well and once you confront them they turn rude and hang up on you and then they will not answer your calls again!
