Athena Spa

I’ve been coming here since 2017/2018. The prices can’t be beat and it’s always nice and clean. Usually the massages are up to standard and facials are great. Athena spa is amazing.

I've been here twice, once during Covid and just recently. I went because it was close by, I had read great reviews and my body was in severe pain, my entire back, my shoulders and legs. The first time I went, I had asked for a deep tissue massage. The professionals were amazing. They got to every part of my body that was in agony. They were kind and empathetic to my needs. The very next day my back did feel a bit bruised up, but I needed it, it wasn't a bad pain, it was a sore kind of a pain. I rathered the sore pain then the back pain, 100%.
When I had recently gone, again I was in so much pain, I had to make an emergency appointment that day. They were kind enough to take me in and I booked a 60 min massage.
The lady had asked me what I needed and when I stated deep tissue she asked me several questions about getting previous massages and how often. She had warned me that I would feel very sore the next day if I got a deep tissue. Which she was correct.
So she suggested a light to medium massage. I went with her suggestion because she is the professional.
She had applied very little pressure to my back in two spots and I felt two cracks, but it was a relief kind of crack and I knew I had definitely needed their assistance.
The room was very clean, the towels, blankets and robe were just as clean. The lady often checked in and asked if what she was doing okay. She got to every part of my back that was in pain and it felt amazing. My shoulders, neck, lower back and legs got the attention they needed for relief. The music and ambience was perfect and most of all this place was very affordable. Trust when I say the 60mins massage is so work the money.
The only way to repay her with the greatest thank you, was by giving her a really good tip because I know her hands get alot of ware and tear form constantly massaging people and she deserves it.
The next day I swear my back felt brand new. I was able to go to work and work as if I had had no back pain in weeks. I felt amazing.
I plan on returning at least once every two weeks because my body needed the self care and this place is just that great. There are places to get food, dessert and coffee within walking distance right afterwards and there are two bus stops, one going into Staten Island and one going to the South Ferry.

A lot of reviewers here complaining 🙄 about "forced" tips are so out of their mind! The audacity! Paying 50 bucks plus "forced" 🙄 15-20 bucks in tips for a great 1 hour real massage massage is THE BEST deal! If you're so worried about "forced" tips, then go get a massage at a place, where no one will mention the amount of the tips you have to pay, but then expect to pay for that massage no less than $100! Plus however much tips you feel like giving!

Very pleasantly surprised. My massage was professionally performed and I left so relaxed. Clean environment and bought my wife a massage for her birthday when I left. Great experience.

Very happy with my experience here. I told the woman on the phone I wanted to take my best friend for her birthday there and wasn't sure what facial I wanted, so she suggested the European facial for a first time which was $50 for 1 hour. We both LOVED it. Our skin is glowing and so clean.

This place is a little gem. I absolutely loved my Swedish massage and the price was great for the service she did. I have been to many fancy places that didn’t do a good job. The staff was kind, and they took me immediately. I suffer from chronic muscle aches and Ellie the thearapist worked on me for one hour. It was the best one hour massage I have had in a long time. I will be returning for a collagen face treatment and will also make frequent appointments. Awesome spot thanks again.

The family that runs this small shop, they did a great job fixing my computer. They ask a lot of questions to see how you use your system then come up with a plan (that they explain to you), then they give you the costs. If they have any questions they call or text you. Will definitely go back

Had a fantastic, firm pressure one hour massage for just $43 (and that's without a coupon!). The therapist was very friendly, the spa is clean and inviting, and I was given a free large bottle of water afterwards. Great experience!

Storytime:
It was my first time there and have 5 more visits to go but so far, I really like them. The ladies were nice and the location itself was cozy and soothing.

I dont know the difference of the two but I liked that this was the wand version and not the kind where you place the brick bar things on and go. In my head, the constant movement with laser seems better to me. Moving the fats and working the lymphatic system & what not.

The ladies were really sweet and I like how they explained some parts to me.

Bring cash if you're using a Groupon (or just in general). I completely forgot and will remember next time.

They do a lot of services and after this (or during/before, I'll see) I'm heavily considering other spa treatments.

People said they had issues with their Groupon but it went seamlessly for me. Just opened it up on my app and they took care of it.

Loved that they gave me a water bottle at the end (important to stay hydrated and flush the body with this whole process).

I had a wonderful experience at Athena Spa. My therapist was a magician with her hands.I received both a massage & facial and came put feeling so revived!! I was so happy that I purchased a package of 5 and am going back for another combined w/a facial this coming week. So excited!!!!!😆😆😆😆

Great massage. Very nice people. Clean. Family owned. Prices are great so leave a nice tips for the girls.

Today was my first time going to Athena’s Spa with my daughter and her friend. This will be my go to place twice a month with my daughter. The women in this place are so sweet. I highly recommend this place. It’s clean and they really cater to your needs.

I got a gift certificate for a massage in this salon. Place is not big and not too fancy , but clean and quiet for this kind of procedures. I like a massage, it was relaxed and deep in same time. I will come there again.

I go here all the time. My therapist is Cindy have been going here for 8 years for chronic illness. They have a lot of treatments including microblading and fat loss lasers. Good prices all the girls are pros and very kind.

Great massage therapy for people with chronic pain. The owner is very intelligent and is more knowledgeable than the average spa owner.

Rainbow is amazing. Very catering and top down one of the beat massages I have ever had. This place is affordable and the staff professional. Highly recommend!

Outstanding massage. I did not even realize how badly my lower back was hurting until walking home pain free! The massage therapist Ella and the front desk staff were all incredibly nice and professional.
