This was my first time staying here and it's a huge improvement over the Hampton inn on Elkhorn Rd. The one on Elkhorn just continued to go down hill especially the customer service. At one time the phrase southern hospitality fit them to a tee but the last several stays they made people in my group and myself feel like we were a burden plus the neighborhood was getting sketchy at night. This hotel is in a nice section where you can feel safe walking to a nearby restaurant and every staff member we encountered had a fantastic positive attitude. I go to Lexington on a regular basis for work and I will definitely stay here from now on!

When I say thank you so much Kamirah! I mean it you’ve been so kind and just one of the nicest people I’ve met in KY. I really appreciate you for being so informative and considerate. The little things matter the most to my family and I and it goes a long way. You’ve made my experience here at the Hampton a pleasant one. Now I’m on my way home Happy and well rested love! Thank you Hampton Inn Keeland!

We picked the location to be close to family. The breakfast and coffee stations are very good. AC wasn't working when we checked in the room but it was fixed very quickly when we reported it to the front desk.

Great deal for 100 bucks a night, close enough to anything you want to do, but you don't have to fight with the downtown parking garages. The front desk staff were always polite and accommodating.

Very nice Hampton inn, very easy to find. Lots of well lite parking, plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was very clean and well maintained, not a bad price and they gave us the AAA discount. The breakfast was ok and pretty standard for Hampton inns. Well stocked and the area was clean. There was an attendant that stayed the entire time cleaning and restocking.

Location is convenient to airport, Fayette Mall, and within walking distance to food and ATMs. The rooms were just as expected with a Hampton... clean, crisp and comfortable. The pool, hot tub, and fitness center were in good working order and pleasant.
The staff was courteous and helpful.

Definitely recommend this facility.

It just happened to be super close to the tattoo shop that I was getting tattooed at, so that was very convenient! The staff was very warm and welcoming and actually made me smile. The breakfast was amazing and I loved the bathroom in our room. Would recommend!

Clean room and extremely comfortable bed! Front desk noticed I was alone at check in and moved me away from a group of teenagers without me even asking or knowing they were there. Suggested a few places within walking distance to eat. I chose Bru Burger and will make that choice everyday! As I was checking out the bourbon trail I decided to check out the Liquor barn which is just steps away too.

This hotel is a little older looking compared to other hotels in the Hilton chain. It is located conveniently by restaurants, bars, gas and groceries. It is very easy to get to from major roads and is in a good area of the city. Very friendly staff but hey, it's Kentucky! That's a norm.

(continued from previous post as I ran out of space - had to use another email address) The head housekeeper Vicki was a bundle of energy and smiles and two of her housekeepers that I had seen most frequently were Martina(sp?) and Sandra both extremely pleasant and obviously knew what they were doing based on the impeccable care they gave to the room I stayed in and would dare guess each and every room under their care. Lori Ann was a marvel, I had met her the very first day working in the breakfast room but later saw her working the front desk, working with housekeeping, cleaning the lobby and always with a smile on her face and warm greeting – not sure what her title is but my guess is, “Everything”. Another delightful employee that I encountered frequently was Sherry in the breakfast room who was always cleaning, always restocking yet never too busy to wish you a smiling good morning and offer to meet your breakfast requests.
There were other employees that I encountered during my three week stay at the Hampton Inn Lexington-South the names of who I did not catch but all had the same warm welcoming greeting and smile.
In retrospect after my extended stay there, what stands out in my mind and perhaps even the reason my stay there was so pleasant was because from my observation these employees truly liked each other and cared for each other – like an extended family. The remarkable dynamic was that this special aura was so prominent and so open it filtered to we, the guests. Often times in the breakfast room or just outside the front door I overheard other guests commenting on how nice, pleasant or helpful an employee was. So, from a guest to a potential guest, you will not find a better hotel or staff to better your travel needs and from a guest to the staff of Hampton Inn Lexington-South, thank you, thank you very much for letting guests and travelers long-term or short-term become a part of your extended family, we appreciate it in more ways than is probably ever expressed to you. On a 5 star rating system, I would rate you as a 10.

First of all, I’m not usually a “poster”. I believe that I have probably reviewed and posted two other times in my life. But sometimes the opportunity to post cannot be ignored. Such is the case for the Hampton Inn Lexington –South on Lakecrest Circle.
My stay, arriving on August 02, 2015, was initially to be for a couple of days to better care for, aid and support an ailing parent. A couple of days turned into a week. The week turned into two weeks and the two weeks turned into three weeks so the following comments are not from a one or two night stay rather a lengthy stay seven days a week often times at odd hours of the day/night as parental care varied. My experience with the property and staff was not just in passing but extensive and frequent.
When I arrived the property, it was under-going a renovation. This was not a surprise as the renovation was clearly identified while making the reservation and as a concession for this “inconvenience” they had offered a reduced rate so, for the purpose of my trip and the length of stay, I figured that the trade-off was fair. When seeing the extent of the renovation, my initial reaction was to run but, having just driven 7 ½ hours, all I wanted was rest, so I checked in.
When I opened the door to the room, I was immediately hit with how clean and fresh the room smelled. As I brought my luggage into the room, I was continually impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the attention to the detail and care this room had received from the wrinkle-free bedding, pillow placement on the bed to the fold of the first sheet of the toilet paper roll, this was nothing like what was expected, it was much, much better. This room was not a newly renovated room as the renovation was for the exterior of the building and there were signs of extensive use yet, everything was clean, orderly and actually inviting - even the room temperature was comfortable – slept well.
Woke up hungry and thought I would go try the breakfast. Still groggy, I shuffled to the breakfast room where I was met by a cheerful and smiling “Good Morning!” from an employee I later learned was named Lori Ann. Again, I couldn’t help but notice how clean and orderly the breakfast area and breakfast bar were. The breakfast had quite the selection: fresh fruit, fruit juices, a phenomenal cheese omelet, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, cereals, pastries, breads, teas and three types of coffee. The hot foods were hot and the cold foods were properly cold and several times during her clean-up and re-stock chores, Lori Ann would happily come over and ask how everything was and ask if there was anything she could get for me. Heck, I eat in five-star restaurants and do not get this type of pleasant service and attention – quite a surprise!
As one day turned to another, I began to notice a pattern in the “personality” of this hotel – everything was consistently consistent and everything done well, bordering perfection. During my stay I had an occasion to speak with the General Manager Ms. Sasha Higgins with a special request. When met, I was greeted with a firm handshake and warm smile asking what she could do for me. My request was made, she made the decision to do it and immediately on the spot, it was done. She did not postpone, “I’ll get back to you”, “we’ll see” or “remind me later” rather, thoughtful consideration, decision and follow-through – done. Very impressive.
“Consistently consistent” but not in the manner of drudgery. Every day that I stayed at this Hampton quite literally I was met with happy salutations and smiling faces – every day! One desk clerk named Sam was very personable, was a wealth of information and seemingly always there – he worked a lot. It became a running joke that if I saw him at the front desk, I knew that I was in the right place. Another personable and helpful desk clerk was Troy.

My mother has health issues which require us to travel to Lexington, Ky to see various specialists. We live 100 miles away and it is extremely difficult to travel that distance round trip and also keep her appointments. As a result, we stay in town overnight. Our choice of hotels is always the Hampton Inn Lexington South off Harrodsburg Road. First, in response to other reviews, the hotel has been completely updated inside and is in the process of being updated outside. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully updated, roomy and clean. Second, it would be hard to find a better staff. We have always been treated with gracious kindness and helpfulness. The staff makes a rather stressful situation much easier, which is greatly appreciated. Third, the breakfast bar is always very good with plenty of tasty options for even the most picky eater. I want to send a particular shout out to Mandy for our latest stay. She was so kind and helpful in dealing with my mother's health issues and allowing us to stay longer in order to meet her appointment in a more timely manner. Thank you so much Mandy. I would recommend the Hampton Inn Lexington South to anyone. You will not be disappointed!

Friendly service. Clean rooms. Air conditioner and exhaust fan work great. Most places they don't. One of my best hotel stays.

Like all the other Hamptons I've visited, thus one was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The staff was nice. The included breakfast is always appreciated.
