I have been a patient of Dr. Jacob Layer for a long time. I trust him completely. He always listens patiently, remembers things I’ve said years ago. I am a “person” to him, who he treats with compassion and respect.

His whole staff follows his lead in this.

I highly recommend him to anyone wanting a Dentist who treats them with compassion, and does excellent work.

Dr Layer is a superb dentist. He is meticulous and pays close attention to detail no matter the issue. I have had older crowns replaced and the dental work is excellent. Best dentist and staff in southern Oregon! It is truly a joy to go to the dentist… I never thought I would ever say that !! I used to dislike going to the dentist immensely. But the staff are so friendly and this dentist is a perfectionist! And when it comes to my teeth, I want someone who is knowledgeable, professional, and educated. He’s on top of it! All, who work there, are a pleasure to do business with and they help me make decisions concerning my teeth. Dr. Layer always does follow up calls after I have work done. Absolutely amazing.

I was in the hunt for a dentist because I needed one ASAP. I started calling around on a Thursday morning. After calling 3 offices and no answer, I called Dr Layer's office. Not only did they answer and were actually open, they found a way to squeeze me in that same day.

The entire staff at the office was super nice and professional. Dr Layer was extremely friendly. The whole time I was there, I had this strong feeling that I picked the right people for my dental care. I was even more convinced of this a few days later, on a Sunday evening, when I got a call from the doc himself checking to see how I was feeling. Which was an experience I've never had before. I couldn't believe it. That was the icing on top of a really delicious cake for me.

I strongly recommend these guys. You won't regret it.

Utmost respect for the professional people at Dr. Layers office! Dr. Layer is expedient in his patient service and eloquent in his speech. He is objectively insightful and has kindness and care for his clientele.

His administrative staff, Casey and Carley are equally commendable and go over 120% for their patients. They regularly follow up and keep patients aware of appointments. They see a schedule change that could assist the patient and make the changes.

I am a new patient of Dr. Layer. After my long time dentist retired, I moved to a new dental practice only to have that dentist retire as well and was not happy with his replacement.

Now with Dr. Layer I feel confident that I have found someone I trust to take care of my teeth again. He and his staff are extremely friendly, competent, professional, and helpful.

I had been seen by my previous dentist less than two months prior and yet Dr. Layer diagnosed a significant problem with a molar and some periodontal disease that needed to be addressed immediately. I really like how he explains what he is about to do, which gently prepares me for each process. The polite and easy rapport between Dr. Layer and his chair assistant, Shannon, not only puts me at ease but puts a smile on my face. I was also pleasantly surprised when Dr. Layer called on the weekend to follow up with me after each procedure and make sure everything was doing well.

Dr. Layer has successfully completed a crown and three fillings in my mouth now and referred me to Dr. Ferrin, a local periodontist for the other procedures. I know I’m new to his practice, but I feel very confident in recommending Dr. Layer and his team.

I saw Dr Layer for the first time about a month ago and was very impressed by his professionalism, patience and explanation of the work he was to do. During the examination he carefully explained the work that needed to be done and the process he would use. Dr. Layer is wonderful. His staff is also great. Going to the dentist isn't my favorite thing to do, but going to Dr. Layer makes it so much easier than any other dentist I've ever been to. From basic cleaning appointments to more serious crowns, he makes it "smooth sailing."

Layer Dental is a very professional dental office. The doctor has a great "bedside" manner and knows how to calm nervous clients like myself. The staff is very friendly and remember their clients. It is nice to go to a smaller office where clients are not treated like numbers. And the wait time is always short.

"Dr Jake" and his crew are the best. We moved to the valley in 2012 and were referred to Dr Jake's off be our dentist in Vancouver. His practice is professional and personable. Myself, having visited dental offices for the better part of seven decades am obviously no stranger to the dental chair, I think I have have experienced the full spectrum of dental care and procedures from the scariest in some third world countries, to the best and I place Dr Jake and staff among the very best. I'm a first- time patient of Dr. Layer and I can't tell you how impressed I am with him.First off, his staff, from front desk to dental assistant to hygienist, is professional, warm, friendly and caring. Then we get to Dr Layer. I've had way too many dental procedures so I'm pretty phobic in any dental office. He does an amazing job of calming his patients and reassuring them all will go well. He's thorough, informative, gentle and does it all with little jokes along the way.

I had a crown replacement that turned into a much bigger job than he expected. It ended up just fine, not even a twinge of pain afterwards. I've found my new dentist! He's wonderful. And as a final note about the kind of care you'll get with him...he called me on his day off to make sure I was ok. That's a first for me.
