Stella Nonna Restaurant & Bar

This is one of our favorite go-to breakfast spots in Berkeley, for dining either on their patio, in their dining room, or right at their bar. Everything they serve is very good, including the coffee (and cocktails, if you enjoy that with brunch). They tend to fumble a bit with the technical aspect of confirming reservations for a larger group, but the food and friendly service is worth this service glitch. Just make sure to call to confirm your rez if you have a big group. And don't expect all your plates to arrive at the same time if you are a large group, so this one more opportunity for a service improvement they may want to consider. However, we are still loyal customers, because all their egg dishes and their baked goods are so delicious.

Brunch was super yummy! And they have a really good happy hour.

Great spot to eat! Korean fried chicken wings on point! The ribs and the fried fish special was very tasty! The waitress was very friendly also. I recommend you stop by!

Mmm!!!! Its been a really long time since I went out for brunch with friends. I of course got the basic plate, but there was a lot of great things on the menu. And oo, for those that can drink and like grapefruit more than mimosas 😍 there is a drink for us too

Really good flavors for most part. Excellent customer service. If i may suggest a better consistency & flavor with Alfredo sauce. Have gone a few times and different guests have had the same opinion. But other than that the Salmon Risotto is delicious! Hopefully a mushroom risotto might work well too. Very clean! Complimentary sparkling water so fizzy! And did we say great customer service!?!

Great food, great coffee, great service! Inside is kind of industrial chic - nice, but I LOVE the patio. I've had breakfast, brunch, & lunch - all were delicious. Yesterday my daughter & I shared a fried chicken sandwich and a burger. The chicken was savory, perfectly crunchy on the putside bit juicy inside. The meat in the burger was so flavorful. Mixed greens salad very fresh, onion rings crisp. Love the Ruby's Roast coffee - robust but not bitter.

This is a beautiful restaurant. The inside is lovely, the patio is a great place to dine. We came here for brunch, and wow. The biscuits and gravy were fantastic, and they do not skimp on the heavy. The black pepper biscuit was tender but held up against the sausage sausage sausage gravy. I had chicken and waffles, easily the best waffle I've ever had. Real maple syrup. My husband had the gumbo and was very impressed, although next time he'll order the biscuit the side. The Mexican hot cocoa was more like a delicious chocolate soup. It actually came in a bowl, with a spoon. You'll love it. Get a bloody Mary as well, they are delicious. Will be coming back.

Great food - love the beet and avocado salad with salmon, the risotto is also fantastic. The cocktails are great - they have some good spirits for mixing, not just typical vodka, gin, and tequila options. They make a particularly great Manhattan! Friendly wait staff, not long waits for seating, typically, and a moderate noise level. They do have seasonal outdoor seating - and heat lamps for the out-of-season brave.

One of the best burgers in the East Bay Area. We liked Stella when we first tried it over a year ago and it has gotten progressively better, climbing to one of our favorite locations to dine for brunch and dinner.
I saw some lower ratings in the mix and I have not experienced any of the issues they have had:
- I though the salmon dishes I've eaten have been absolutely delicious (it was a breakfast salmon hash most recently)
- We've turned several other coupes onto Stella and they in turn are now repeat customers enjoying the Friday Milwaukee style fish fry.
- Everything we've ever gotten has been fresh and delicious.

The food was great, and the calamari was well breaded and tasty. The fish was very tasty, but the applesauce was a bit of a small portion. I enjoyed the restaurant, the service was pretty good an they give you bottles of water instead of filling your cup up.

I had the Minnesota Fried Chicken, and it was wonderful! The greens were particularly good, I'd never liked them before. The mashed potatoes were fine, but not really up to the quality of the rest of the dish (though that's fine, ad it was a lot of food).

They appear to have a decent bar, but I haven't tried much. They were out of their Scotch Ale, but the substitute they gave me was tasty. I'll certainly be coming back!

Wow! I chose this place because it was reasonable and it was a middle point for my siblings. I can not begin to express my gratitude for their hospitality, kind and just sincere service. We were met with smiles, seated with smiles and all around the vibe of this restaurant was Inviting, and memories of being in my Thea's kitchen we're forefront in my mind. Thank you for a brunch to remember! Stella Nonna is a new family favorite! Let's not forget the food was spot on!!!!!

Really love the calming atmosphere. Came for the bottomless mimosas and they definitely make sure your glass is always full. Cheddar biscuits have the best flavor. Great place to go to last minute.

Went for lunch. The fried chicken sandwich is a dark meat lovers dream come true; incredibly tasty and perfectly fried. The side salad helps you feel like it's almost healthy! We also had the berry galette and ice cream. Heaven. Not too tart, not too sweet, and perfectly baked dough. I'm still thinking about it. Great service and will absolutely return.

They have a great high quality restaurant. It is a little pricey for me to eat here on a regular basis, but it is around the corner from me. The service is top notch. Their patio is dog friendly. They do brunch on the weekend. The bar is cute, you could chat with a friend and dine at the same time. Love this place, been going for years.

Came here for brunch very early on a Sunday and there was no wait. The carnitas and polenta was great but the poached egg had no run. The eggs and pancakes were delicious. Bottomless mimosas were great, strong, and refilled often. Would recommend this place for breakfast.

We had a magical evening at Stella Nonna. Our group was celebrating a special event, so we booked the patio and the private room. The appetizers and entree were fresh and delicious. Desserts to die for.
It was a perfect place for our event: beautiful space, table setting and patio, private with amazing restaurant services and just what we needed to celebrate!
