Lovely food. The anchovy egg is a must try. Their bread is also super nice (it’s from acme). The homemade jam is amazing.

Vibrant and cozy, comfortable to be here alone, by the high bar or the smaller desk designed for individual. Ideal to have a focused session of read or work. Friendly staffs serving delicious coffee, tea, baked goods of the day, and holding space. So you can be alone but not lonely.

Have a pot of pink tea (Berkeley local special: Tropic Garden), sip it from a nice handmade ceramic piece, everything is delicate and intentional in details.

Two parking spots right outside the store. And a few tables under the greenery vine, less music, more white noise.

Great spot for brunch. The dishes are seemingly simple (avocado toasts, eggs, tartine), but they’re always incredibly flavorful given the fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Coffee beverages are all also on point.

I love that the place also has a nice hifi system and well curated collection of vinyl. Only issue I have is that it’s often too crowded. But - it’s worth the wait.

I love the new sit-down cafe spot located within the same block. And the broccoli di ciccio sandwich and also the salami Toscana sandwich are delicious. Just great food ans yom coffee/tea all around.

Lovely, calm but efficient and relaxing environment. Eggs are cooked to perfection as. Toast is wickedly drenched in butter and sea salt.

The Avocado Toast is fantastic!! Crisply toasted bread, thick, perfectly ripe avocado spread with a little fire on top. Yes, you can see the “love.” That side spritzer was refreshing and a great addition.

I’m just so happy that Bartavelle is just 5 mins fr where my stay is. How incredibly lucky to me! Cole is so friendly and chill that I want to buy everything from him and his team! Love the oatmilk latte, the filtered coffee, the cookies, just everything they serve!
The place is so alive with very warm vibes. A customer laughed so heartily when I talked about having a tattoo! No judgement, just tuned into my excitement too! Wow! Not often I get that. Love this place! Going to miss Cole and the place until I’m back again!

Amazing food. Perhaps the best toast of my life. The harissa egg was delicious too and the cardamom macaroon. Basically,, everything was great..
They serve Heart coffee too. Highly recommend for a breakfast, or whenever.

You will regret it if you do not visit here. I am very satisfied with the service here, wine, food and music.

Cool quirky little coffee shop in Berkeley. Tomato toasts use very fresh ingredients for a simple but delicious toast. Coffee is pretty good too.

This place is awesome! Tucked in a corner near the Acme bread shop, it has anything a good coffeeshop should have — friendly staff, delicious coffee drinks and a great selection of toast options. They were out of avocado toast the time we visited (not in season), though we really enjoyed a trout plate!

It feels like a gem spot among both locals and visitors. Want to come back there for a glass of wine ;)

One of the best barista, the guy with the full beard. The setting is rustic, buzzy earthy intellectuals, typical Berkeley! Next to Acme Bread bakery. Space to sit is limited and parking is super limited, otherwise a real gem in the morning.

Still one of my neighborhood favorites! I love their eggs and their tartines. Their seasonal tomato tartine is one of my favorites. Oh and they sell the harissa they use on the eggs in a jar!!

Cafe is a bit on the pricey side, but in return you get high quality goods. My go-to neighborhood spot for a good cup of coffee and a scone or sandwich. Pictured is the salame toscana sandwich

The atmosphere here is amazing! The boards and other food options are so good; I'd highly recommend the avocado toast. The drink options are great as well, especially the oat milk latte!

Avocado toast on the freshest baked bread you can imagine (acme bakery is next door). Hard boiled eggs with various seasoning. Yogurt, fruit, and granola bowl with only a touch of honey so it's not overwhelmingly sweet like most places. And lattes made by baristas who seem to take pride in their work. All staff was super friendly even during a busy Saturday breakfast/brunch time. Will def be back

I go for the coffee, and generally get tempted to get a sandwich or pastry. The ingredients are excellent quality, which makes their food yummy
