Berkeley Bagels

Berkeley is abuzz about some other bagel shops that have gotten coverage in the NYT, but I like the bagels here just fine and I am originally an East Coaster. I will often get a couple dozen and freeze them and the kids have them for breakfast all week long.

The service is always friendly and fast. They also make nice sandwiches.

Surely the best bagels in California! First time in and I was surprised by the freshness of the food. Staff very friendly and fast as well. Prices are very affordable. I’ll be back for the home made bagels and fresh juices.

First time in...got the plain toasted with low fat cream cheese. The cream cheese had an amazing flavor-one I have never had before. I also got two chicken kabobs for my daughters. They loved the intensity of the flavor.

Our go-to place for Bagels in Berkeley (well, it is named Berkeley Bagels!). My favorites are the Seed City and Everything Bagels ... and often get a double toasted bagel with butter, and a great container of juice.

They take credit cards and prefer cash (that way they don't have to pay the credit card transaction fee.)

It's conveniently located a block from our favorite dentist, Dr. Kurtz and across the street from Westbrae Beer Garden and Coffee Conscious.

I recall they have bakers' dozen (13 bagels for the cost of 12). It's a nice break so sit on a chair, under an umbrella, and nosh.

My Go-To, convenient, and reliable Bagel emporium, for over 30 years - just about as good as it gets in the Bay Area - certainly 'Good Enough' - and way better than my experience of Boichik Bagels' new Berkeley Sixth Street factory's product. Comes very close to my personal-taste Gold Standard: Detroit's "NY Bagel Company" from 5 decades ago.

Their lox is unusual, and great. Very friendly, and very Neighborhood-y. Highly recommended.

Very good homemade bagels, and way less expensive than Bodchick. Also no line around the corner full of pretentious foodies who think they know everything about bagels. Worth passing Bodchick and coming here

This has been a pleasant stopping point for me for years! Provides a strong sense of stability in the neighborhood.

My smoked salmon bagel and smoothie was so good. I also tried the mocha which is good too. You can’t go wrong with a bagel from here.

I've been going here longer than the internet, when it was originally Brother's Bagels. Latest owners have not changed the bagels as far as I can tell. Prices more reasonable than Posh or other boutique bagel places. Parking lot and street parking. they have a full selection of drinks snacks, varieties of bagels (my fav is the garlic) and the staff has always been pleasant.

Berkeley Bagels has been around for a long time, although the management has changed at least once. It used to be called Brothers Bagels when I was a kid living in the area in the late 70s. Bagels aren't as popular as they once were during that golden age of bagels. But this is a golden age bagel shop in my opinion. Every bagel is a timeless classic.

Got a everything bagel with the herb garlic cream cheese which was so heavenly, bagel was fresh and cream cheese was so flavorful

Get their early. These tastey house made bagels sell out quickly of the fave varieties. But ... they Re all delish.

I have no problem giving Berkeley Bagel a 5 Star Review, because the service and the bagels are delicious!! I've been buying their bagels for over 20 years, and I've always been happy with the people & the service!

The service was great and the food was delicious. And I love how it's close to where I live.

Berkeley Bagels sells delicious, fresh steamed bagels. We buy a baker's dozen, cut them in half and keep them in our freezer. They offer an extensive lunch menu, I only wish the seating area was bigger and remodeled. Sitting outside is nice.

Good bagels and good customer service. Would recommend and come back.

I've had boichik bagles and with all confidence Berkeley bagles is just as good, with more offers, a place to sit and no absurd line... no brainer
