I had a wonderful wedding dress shopping experience with Emilie! They had a great selection that my mom and I got to browse, and I was able to try on all the gowns I liked. I really appreciated the combo of consignment/one-of-a-kind dresses and made-to-order. I felt supported and no pressure throughout, and when it was the right dress, Emily helped complete the look with a veil and photos to capture the moment. I left with the perfect designer sample for me. Definitely recommend!

Emily was so helpful and very knowledgeable about her gowns! We only had an hour appointment but I think I tried on 7 or 8 gowns, all of them gorgeous. She managed our time very well. All her gowns look brand new, even the used ones. All in excellent condition. I didn't end up buying from her, it was a little above my price range. If you are willing to spend $1000-1500 that's about the range of most of the gowns I tried on. Highly recommend you check her out, great experience and she has a beautiful shop.

Had such a great experience here!! The gowns and dresses are gorgeous with a wide selection of styles and fits. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and helpful. The owner is awesome! I was dreading looking for a dress and Emerald City made it so easy!

Everyone at Emerald City was so kind and accepting! They listened to exactly what I wanted which is very non traditional and found me something perfect so quickly. They offered suggestions for how to add my personal flare of colors and character into my gown and additional pieces. I could not have asked for a more perfect experience finding an outfit that truly reflected my authentic self as a queer person.

A true gem of a place! There was such a variety of options, gorgeous dresses, all in a very welcoming and positive environment. Emilie was so attentive, very knowledgeable and helpful. It was such a smooth experience and I finally found a perfect wedding dress!

Emerald City Gowns is the place to go in the Bay Area. The selection and service are excellent! I went in not sure if I'd find a dress for my wedding but ended up coming out of the store 40 minutes later with the perfect dress!. Emelie was so attentive and able to "read the crowd." She took cues from me and my family members about what we thought looked good and continued to pick dresses off the racks until we landed on THE dress! The store was also very comfortable and did not feel overwhelming.

I had such an amazing experience at Emerald City Gowns! Their selections were wonderful, you could tell that every dress was selected specifically for the store with thought and care. The stylist worked with me to understand not only what my wedding dress goals but also ensure that it matched with my personality. I typically hate shopping but this was really a special experience and, I got the perfect dress!

I found my dress! I tried on around 12 dresses with Shannon. She was so knowledgeable and professional. I came in with an idea of what I wanted and Shannon pulled dresses for me to try on in addition to ones I pulled myself when browsing. The dress I bought ended up being one of the dresses Shannon pulled and I never would have picked it myself. It fits beautifully and is very flattering. The best thing to do when shopping for a dress at Emerald City is to go in with an open mind and trust their expertise. I went in for a second appointment with Emilie to confirm that this was the dress and to try on accessories. I fell in love with the first veil that Emilie suggested and also bought a headband that matches the dress beautifully. Given other places I looked for dresses, I thought their prices were reasonable. I bought a sample dress and paid about $1,700 for the dress, veil, and headband.

I found my wedding dress at Emerald City Gowns this past weekend! I was very nervous about shopping (didn't have a strong vision, had tried on a lot of unflattering gowns at other shops). The team who helped me was so empathetic, positive, and helpful. They listened to me, made sure I was feeling comfortable at all times, and ultimately helped me find the gown that felt like me (but elevated and glamorous). It's such a stressful process and to find folks who work in the industry and help you remember how exciting this life event truly us and help you connect with the things that make you excited... I am very grateful, incredibly excited to wear my dress, and will be recommending them to friends!

I don’t usually give reviews unless the service is exceptional. Yes, the service was beyond and above. From the moment I walked in, I felt as if I had known Emily from before. She was extremely helpful in every possible way. Her gowns are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I thought I had seen beautiful gowns in other stores, but no comparison to the high end wedding dresses she has. Now here comes the best part, the gowns are consignment gowns!!!!! I love thrifting and so finding a designer gown that looks almost brand new for much much less was what I always wanted. I am certain I will wow my guest and groom all thanks to Emily.

This shop is so down-to-earth and approachable, none of the pretentiousness of some other bridal stores. The owner Emily is really friendly and nice, she helped me find the right dress and made the experience so enjoyable. If you don't find what you're looking for the first time, give it another shot in a month or two -- they're constantly getting new styles so you never know what you might find.

They also offer a very broad range of styles and sizes, and don't try to push anything that's not your style onto you. Overall I had a really great experience shopping here and love the dress that I found on my second visit.

I was so happy to find Emerald City Gowns. Shannon was very patient during the appointment. I was able to look through the dresses, describe what I was interested in, select dresses to try on, and have suggestions based on the style I was looking for. I loved the first dress I tried on, as well as a few others. I didn't want to make an impulse decision, so I decided to make a second appointment a week or so later. When I came in for the second appt, I was able to try on the dress again along with other styles. I felt like it was a very relaxed process and I loved that I was able to walk out of the store with the dress in hand!

This is a lovely dress shop with both made-to-order and consignment pieces. Emilie, the owner, was wonderful during the appointment and had good recommendations on options and looks. It was a very nice and fun experience!

I couldn't have had a better experience at Emerald City Gowns this past weekend. From the second my two best friends and I stepped into the store, we had an amazing, as-seen-on-TV time. We instantly felt comfortable, and then, after stepping further into the store, totally giddy.

Emilie understood ~the vision~ right off the bat and I ended up purchasing the very first dress she put me in. The practical things - size, price, the COVID precautions - were taken in stride and never questioned. I felt safe the entire time, I liked and fit well into every dress she put me in, and she never presented me with anything out of my price range. She gave us the time and space to twirl, take several dozen (should I really say hundreds?? probably) pictures, and figure out the perfect veil to complete the look. The size 12 dress I ended up getting was $1,100 and will require only minimal alterations.

Wedding planning amidst a pandemic is stressful(!!) to say the least, but my time at ECG with my best friends was a much needed bright spot. I really can't recommend this place enough.

I found my perfect wedding dress here! They have a wonderful assortment of options, including many floor samples. I booked an appointment a few days prior, and received fantastic help. The owner listened to what I said I was looking for, and promptly found multiple dresses I loved. I was skeptical about the whole process, but she made me feel so comfortable and welcome that I really enjoyed the experience. I would highly recommend this shop to all my friends!

I had such a great experience here that I came back to get a second dress!

I made an appointment for when my future sister-in-law would be visiting. We visited ECG on a Sunday morning and were immediately greeted by my stylist, Sonja. She was a warm and welcoming and very stylish herself!

She took time to understand what my preferences were and pulled a bunch of options for me to try on. I had so much fun trying on the different dresses! We narrowed it down to 3 dresses, plus I had another appointment at a different bridal shop later that day, so Sonja was kind enough to reach out to me later that week to arrange another time to try on the favorites. I went back the following weekend and went home with my dream dress. The entire experience was so easy and fun!

As it turned out, I needed a second dress with less than a week’s notice, as we had decided to elope at city hall in advance of our big wedding. Once again, Sonja worked miracles to help me find the perfect dress: ready to wear, under budget, and absolutely stunning!

I had already been to 3 different places before coming to Emerald City Gowns, and had I known that it was going to be such an amazing experience, I would not have gone anywhere else. Aside from being extremely afforable, they have an amazing selection. I know the basic wedding dress language but wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for. At Emerald City gowns it is totally okay not to know and if you have an open mind, Emilie and her staff are experienced and work really hard to meet your needs. I will be telling everyone I know, and people I randomly over hear looking for a dress to go to Emerald City Gowns. I wish someone had told me from the start.

This place is a must-see! I got to try on the best variety and the sales people are very knowledgeable about the alterations process, though they do not have a tailor on staff. Their consignment gowns start at $800 and they had a lot to choose from. They also have a few new dresses from a couple designers, too. Went to 3 appointments at other shops before this one and I'm happy to report I pulled the trigger on a dress! Something about knowing that they only had that one dress made it easier to be confident in my decision.

I had such a great experience in this lovely shop! The stylist (Sonja) was so helpful. I had a few things I had in mind for the gown and she showed me several gowns that were exactly what I was looking for!
Most days you need an appointment, but they are VERY clear on their website which days they take walk-ins (those days being Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays) Their website is easy to use and has information about booking appointments and how they manage walk-ins. Highly recommend this shop! Great way to support a small business!
