Popped in here on a whim while looking for the elevator to the parking garage and ended up spending a lot of time browsing around the store. Great selection of radical literature, and a wonderful selection of graphic novels dealing with heavy subject matters

Amazing and diverse literature, especially unique titles you won't find at more mainstream bookstores. 1 star reviews are very obviously from bigots who have never even been to the state, dog piling on to harass the store - ignore those. Good atmosphere & friendly staff who helped us find multiple specific titles. They gave us good recommendations for local events and speakers as well!

This is an absolutely amazing store!!! The lady at the front greeted me immediately and suggested books as well as being very friendly and kind. AND THE BOOKS THERE!!! There was the most amazing selections of political, social, race ect. theory: history in every part of the world: philosophy:fiction books. It was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t buy anything this time but I will be coming back again to purchase. Highly recommend this place !

i am pretty sure most of the reviews for this place are lying right-wingers trying to drive people from it by using the language of social justice. in short, it's libel. Revolution Bookstore is an awesome place. if you're a leftist or book lover of any stripe and in berkely, you should check it out.

contrary to those 1 star reviews, it is the most explicitly anti bigotry store i've ever seen. the book selection is a tad sparse, but covers a variety of topics. they've also got their ear to the ground and it is a good place to hear about local events and protests and such. plus, convenient parking overhead!

WOW - lots of hard core right wingers writing reviews it seems. you've got to check out this bookstore for yourself - people there always down for a good conversation and healthy debate about what it will take to change the world. one of the few orgs left who are talking about the need for revolution - the need to learn from past people's revolutions and the possibility of a truly emancipated planet. plus they've got a great selection of great fiction and non-fiction.

This bookstore is not a place for cowards. The illiterati that form the base of The Coward's party behold books as puzzling contraptions that make nice gifts for any relative that perchance owns a home. If they own a book, it will ideally have a sufficient number of pictures to obscure that pesky, confounding and annoying text. If they possessed reading ability, it would be more likely they would also possess teeth, having successfully interpreted that little clock and calendar symbol on the dental appointment reminder card... But alas!

Adding my own two cents to counteract the closed-mindedness of others' posts. If you don't like the topics or viewpoints expressed by the staff, or the literature they stock, then... *gasp*.. don't go there! No one is holding your feet to the fire, forcing you to visit.

Awesome store. Only downside is you actually have to know how to read to appreciate a bookstore, so I don’t recommend it for the alt-right

I wish there was a bookstore like this in my town! Walking through the door, you feel instantly at home. I hope the recent terrorist attacks won't cause them to close, because that would be a great loss.
