I loved the variety of instruments in this beautiful store. I'm not a musician and haven't purchased anything here yet. But I enjoyed getting to see lots of cool instruments there.
I was looking for a handpan as a beginner. Most other stores seemed focused on guitars or pianos but you can find things from all around the world here.

I like this place! The service is top notch, the variety is huge, and the location was convenient. I almost missed it because their cool sign is gone but that's alright. Though I doubt I'll be in the town again, I really hope I can come back!

Quaint little music store with lots of eclectic instruments. You don't even need to be a musician to enjoy the fun stuff- things like miniature instruments and niche cultural pieces. If you do care about music, there's a nice selection of hard to find instruments (like dulcimers) and rare books nearly arranged on the back shelf.

This is the only place I know where you can actually find and try a wide variety of historic and world instruments. Limited hours but that is more than made up for by the friendly and helpful staff.

Such an awesome store with a dedicated owner and a large eclectic assortment of quality instruments. Some of which I couldn't identify. Picked up a reasonably priced unique, handmade Kalimba for my daughter and had a hard time leaving with just that!

Such a wonderful place! In a small house set back from the road a bit with foliage and a walkway leading to the door, one then enters a modest sized showroom jampacked with shelves and walls brimming with delightful musical instruments: percussion, wind, strings; from popular classics to somewhat rare or obscure or experimental. And the variety is just too large for me to list.

Prices are good and the proprietors are friendly and helpful.

Touching IS allowed and I couldn't help handling and trying out many items. Each time there I wish I had more money to spend, since they have instruments and accessories I don't find in other music shops.

Best place to have your instrument tuned & maintained. The help staff worked hard to connect me with fellows in both Berkeley & San Francisco for a live gig at the most charming venues. Ask how to meet instrument coaches if you want to network with fellow musicians to complete your eclectic quartet or big bands. A complete range of imported instruments from all around the world. Every music enthusiast will feel right at home here at Lark in the Morning in Berkeley West Brae district. Top marks all across the board!

This is a remarkable place, with an extraordinary selection of instruments. If you are looking for unusual, or foreign, or hard to find instruments, you must check out Lark in the morning. Very helpful as well. I bought two instruments after being disappointed in San Francisco at several music stores. A must-visit.

I bought a Master Works Custom Russell Cook Psaltery. The quality of the instrument is excellent. The replacement string set was also delivered three weeks later.

I used to run a music store in Pittsburgh. Anytime I had a customer looking for an ethnic, obscure, or folk instrument, LITM was my go-to catalog. Naturally, I had to visit the stor while I was in California. It did not disappoint.

This place is awesome. The Staff is very friendly and just rad. All sorts of worldly instruments. I went in specifcally looking for Afro-Latin instruments and they didn't disappoint. I found what I was looking for and more! If you're looking for something unique and hard to find check them out first!

I ordered a tweed baritone ukulele case and the shipping was great, and more importantly the tweed case is incredible.

I can't believe how my life has come full circle. I shopped and bought my Nakai Cedar & Redwood Bass Flute aeons ago when your store was at Ghiradelli Square. Here I am almost 30 years later buying from you in yet another Drone flute. I feel blessed to have had Kevin and Thorn touch my life with music. It's enabled me to use Music with the hospice and palliative patients that I serve. Thank you and Blessings to your business.

Possibly the most incredible shop in the world for the musically adventurous. You don't even have to go there with a plan! Bring $20 and you'll find a small, amazing, and unexpected soundmaker that will last you a lifetime.

Delightful folks running a pretty shop in Berkeley. So many more instruments there than I can say possibly name! I brought my mandolin in with some questions, left with answers, and wasn't charged anything.

While they didn't have the particular thing I was looking for... capo for a wide necked dulcimer...they had just about everything else. Great place just to visit and learn. Curious instruments from all over the place.

Great people, and unique musical instruments. I have shopped their catalog and online for years. This was my first chance to visit.
