Kind and attentive staff. Service was quick, and food presented well. The food was excellent. We asked for medium spice, and it was just that. Gave the atmosphere a 4 as the building itself is a bit run down, but table linens, plates, silverware, and glassware were all very clean. This was our 1st time here, but not our last!

We are lucky to have such an authentic Indian restaurant in such a small town. Service was great, food was great, price was about on par with any other Indian Restaurant in the big city.

Food is amazing. Clean restaurant and the staff is friendly. Gives a mom and pop restaurant vibe. Ordered the chicken pakora and chicken samosa for the appetizers. The samosas were classically delicious. The chicken pakora are essentially well season chicken fingers. I also got the chef’s lamb special and garlic cilantro naan. My only regret was getting the lamb mild instead of a little spicier.

I’m from out of town and visiting a friend. Have some down time and Taste of Himalaya has been my favorite place I’ve eaten around Jackson area. Would come back again

If you like Indian food you'll love this place. We had a really good dinner. We'll definitely go back again. I had the chicken korma, the gold one. It was so good. I got mild but can get it as spicy as you want. The garlic knot was fresh and also delicious!

Extensive food options - including vegetarian and vegan dishes. Everything we had was delicious, from the vegan momos and onion kulcha naan to the lamb biryani and chicken tandoori. In addition to providing a great meal, Ronny provided excellent service. He was friendly, chatty and even gave us a complementary sample of the restaurant's lentil soup, which I also would highly recommend!

This is one of best Indian cuisine in the area. And yes, I've been to few. The seasoning is perfect and very tasty. Their Mango Lassi is super delicious, creamy, the mango flavor is nice and strong. Their Pakora appetizer is perfectly made, fried at the right temperature so it doesn't come out greasy and yet the veggies inside taste fresh. The food was just phenomenal. Give it a try if you are in the mood for Indian food you'll not regret it.

If I could give 20 stars, I would!

Visited Jackson last weekend. We're vegan and this place popped up on the Happy Cow app.

The restaurant was very accommodating when we told them that we are vegan. They made recommendations and advised what we could order.

This place has THE best Indian food that I have ever tasted. The service was fast, helpful and pleasant!

We always had an excellent dining experience there. The food is fresh and tasty.

Authentic Nepalese cuisine with dishes that make the flavors dance. So good we had to visit twice during our stay.
We ordered the Vegan Thali, Paneer Saag, and the Chana Masala. They were amazing!
Staff was great and meals were served hot and pretty fast.
Place is clean, restrooms as well, and chill atmosphere for eating there.

While staying in the area, we found Taste of Himalaya, and we were so delighted with the absolutely delicious food and friendly and outstanding service, that we returned two more times during our month-long visit. Our favorite meal is the lamb korma dish, and the mango lassis are amazing! It's our favorite restaurant in Jackson.

2023, so unfortunately Taj Indian changed operations after Covid but definitely not disappointed with the staff, or the food. Excellent service, healthy portions. These dishes are designed to share with the family.

The Chicken Tikka Masala was just the right spice, Naan bread freshly cooked, the Biryani wasa good kick too it but it didn't over power your taste. The Chicken tendori has the great mixture of flavors. The Himalayan Samosa was fresh, moist and idk the name of the green sauce but it's good.

Taj Indian Cuisine, Jackson Ca.

So today my family and I went to Taj Indian Cusine in Jackson, CA, for a different taste. It's replaced the old Jose's Mexican restaurant that used to be there.

All I could say is DELICIOUS!

We are for dinner which happens from 5pm to 9pm. They have a lunch from 11am to 3pm which I see has a buffet for this time but I didn't eat at that time. We ordered a variety of foods, such as the mixed sampler, chicken chilli, chicken and lamb curries. The main dish was thani which represents an individual plate with all the fixings. The rest was al a cart. Food was well prepared and fresh.

Service was good, polite and described each dish.

I know it is Americanized Indian food, but for being in Jackson, Ca, it's a good choice for something different. Yes, I have had authentic Indian cuisine but still great choices!

Family visits here often. When I come to visit we always stop here. Food and service is great. Price reasonable. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. Everyone has a different dish and all very good. 2 & 3 year olds ate a little of everyones.

Outstanding gem in Jackson! First time dining, and it exceeded all expectations. Excellent, welcoming and attentive staff, fast service, cozy environment. You can really tell they take great pride and it shines! We ordered Chicken Vindalu and a Veggie Paneer Tika Masala w/ Thali (sides).. everything was SO excellent, fresh, and well balanced! Excellent flavors!! Can’t wait to go back and try out more enticing entrees soon! : ) What a great asset to our town, we’re so lucky to have them!

Great food quality and amazing taste. Very good quantity as well. Authentic Indian taste. Quite a surprise finding an Indian restaurant at this location. My order contains a veggie platter, paneer curry with Nepali combo that added 2 additional small portions of curries and extra naans.

Delicious Himalayan food. We stopepd here for lunch on the way back from Mammoth. We ordered Veggie Tikka entree which comes with 2 pieces of Naan, Rice, Veggie Tikka, Dal and veggie curry. We also ordered Himalaya Chicken curry which comes with rice and you can add Naan to it. We paired it up with Salt lassi.

Food was great! Perfect level of spices. Super friendly staff. Our go to place.

Absolutely amazing food!!! Highly recommend, easily the best curry ive ever had, good portion size, i literally could it this everyday if i could, definitely a must try!!

Love this place! We order take out like once a week, it's SO GOOD. Not a vegetarian but my favorite dishes are saag paneer, baingan bharta and momos. They get bonus points in my book for the napali style lentils and having more than one style of samosa. Delivery folks are always kind.
