La Tapatia Mexican Cuisine & Catering

I frequent this really tasty restaurant. They have the best chips, salsa, and bean dip that I've had at any Mexican restaurant in Contra Costa. Same for the margarita...it's amazing! People are always shocked when they have those items, and that's before ordering food from the menu! I usually have the chicken taquitos or the crunchy chicken tacos, which me satisfied every single time. The crew is really nice and friendly. Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants to visit.

The real thing! Great Mexican restaurant with super margaritas. All 4 of us had great meals and a good time. Enjoy!

Shrimp, chicken, and steak fajitas, bean dip with enchilada sauce, homemade green AND red salsa were all soooooooo good! This was the best V-day dinner ever! We sat in their outside seating section and service was excellent. Was not loud or rowdy. Just perfect all over. The Mexican Painkiller cocktail was bomb too. We will be back!

I ordered taco Tuesday beef and chicken. Sooo yummy. I think deep fry the entire tacos. Their chips and dips are also good. They had a bunch of choices on menu. Staff were super nice!

Wonderful staff. Food was very delicious. A bit pricey but when food is authentic it will be worth it to be a little pricey. I will be back. 😊

Combination plate with a beef taco, a tamale
and chicken enchilada with red sauce which
was all very good. I also had a blue lagoon
mixed drink which I enjoyed. The bean dip
that was included with the chips and dip
was delicious.

Very good food, generous portions, and friendly waitstaff. Always pretty busy but they manage it well and in the rare case that food comes a bit slower the quality and service is worth it. Plus they have chips with this incredible bean dip and salsa that they bring out immediately after you get there for you to enjoy while you wait. And seriously guys, this bean dip is so good that sometimes you want the food to take longer! This restaurant also offers seating outside year round on the sidewalk patio outside and this place is in such a prime spot on Main Street. Right in the middle of everything and front row seats to picturesque Martinez.

Came in early evening and it was busy but very little wait time. We couldn't stop raving about the bean dip. Food came at a good speed and was very attentive. We were right by the kitchen door so I don't know if they were just around more. And they got our drinks right all night. Will definitely be going back to try the tequila bar and deserts because they give you a lot.

This has been a family favorite since it took over this location from another restaurant. The food is always excellent. The drinks are stiff and the staff is the reason for the Fifth Star. If you have birthday or anniversary and want to celebrate it with 20 of you closest friends, the is an excellent place. They will set you up in a private spot. If you have a reception or event that needs more space, they have a large room next door where they can cater, set up a bar and your guests go through a buffet line.

For fresh Mexican, this is the place to go! Everyone is super nice, always greeted at the door, quick service, friendly people. I love their salsa, very fresh, and always served with warm chips and a bean dip with a spicy green salsa. They have daily specials and happy hour. Nice bar with good drinks, they offer a lot of options.

This place is absolutely amazing. The entire staff is friendly and very accommodating to any of your needs. Everything on the menu that I have tried is absolutely delicious, but the last few times I seem to be stuck on the arroz con pollo👌. If I could give 10 stars I would. Can't wait to go back again and I was just there last night

I’ve been coming here for a while and love the food and Atmosphere but things I’ve been hearing are a little alarming I personally don’t know if the owner knows but he definitely should I wanted to treat my granddaughter and her friend to la tapatia and she said could we go somewhere else I told her what was the reason since she had worked there she told me that older men in the kitchen we’re being weird asking her for her number and trying to touch her hand VERY ALARMING I was shocked and surprised I left it at that but just a few weeks later my friend told me that her niece was being told by a waiter name Rafael that he wanted her to marry her son so she could take care of him she asked him how old was his son he replied by saying in his twenties I think he is old enough for him to take care of himself and she is still a minor at 16 and still to young to be thinking about marriage she felt awkward and weirded out the owner should do background checks on his employees very good restaurants just alarming with the staff he has.
